"Bewitched? What do you mean? Did I hear you right?" asked Alex curiously.
"Yes, and these leaves will help her fight with the spell she's under. I don't know but maybe Rebekah has to do something with this," said Pomphrey.
"Babe, drink this, it will help you feel better." Then she made her drink that water and made sure that she swallowed.
Everyone watched her, none of them were sure if they did the right thing. But she made sense, what could be the reason behind her sudden illness? could she be in a coma?
She wasn't even hurt anywhere so, an accident was far from what happened. Something really strange happened to her, which made her go into this state.
"I have done what I can, now you should call your mom and dad to take care of her, I've some important work to do at home," she said to Sam.
"You care about her? don't you? At least wait till they come," said Alex looking for hope in her eyes.
But she snapped off and said, "Don't try to trap me in your emotional drama, I know your manipulation game!"
"But--- but I was just…" "Don't! Just don't do anything!" she snarled.
They were all shocked by her reaction; they couldn't understand why she was being so rude for nothing.
"I've been trying so hard to be calm just like her, but you guys---you know exactly how to get under my skin!" she said in a very harsh voice.
She took her bag and left. They all were frozen in their places; everyone was so thrilled by her reaction that no word came out of their mouths.
They all couldn't understand why she got so mad for such a little thing; they could sense that something was definitely not right.
Alex wondered why her teacher acted so weird. She's strict, but not rude and impatient like the woman who just left.
After a few minutes of deadly silence, Sam spoke up, "I should call mom, it's getting really serious."
He took his smartphone out of his pocket and opened contacts; his fingers trembled as he searched her mom's name in the contacts.
As he dialed, the ring was so scary that he could hear his heart beating faster by the minute, he was sweating and wishing that maybe this all could just be a stupid nightmare.
But he knew that things were way too far from a stupid nightmare. He hated nightmares, but this time, he really wished it was. Anything's better than a bad reality.
"Honey, what's wrong? Why did you call?" her mom asked in a caring tone which made him think that her mommy was in such a good mood, and he's totally gonna ruin it.
"Mm… Mom," he started but he realized that it was harder than he thought it was.
His whole body was trembling at the moment and he was sweating, he had no idea how to say it.
"Sam, what is it?" he could sense that her mother was getting tense.
"it's Sal-- Salvadora, shh… she," he stammered.
"Salvadora? Is she okay? What happened to her?" Now he could feel her panicking.
Sam was getting out of control, but he tried to hide it.
"Mom! just come home, please," he yelled in pain, he disconnected the line, so that her mom couldn't hear him crying.
Adaline moved towards him hugged him to comfort him. "Sam, everything's gonna be okay, she's gonna wake up, you need to be okay when she wakes up."
"I know, it's just that we had a little fight in the morning and I---I feel really bad about it. I should've been nicer to her, I---I should've understood her problems, about this whole mess and everything but I…" Sam didn't complete it.
He was feeling guilty about the whole situation, he couldn't shake the thought that it was all his fault.
"It's okay Sam, you don't have to blame yourself for it. Salvadora's condition is not your fault, you played no part in it," Alex tried to reassure him.
They were eagerly waiting for Sal to wake up, she could wake any minute. They wondered how much time it was gonna take.
"Maybe it will take some time, you know, natural herbs usually take a lot of time to work," encouraged Adaline.
"Yeah probably," Sam said.
They all were trying to not fall apart, but as moments passed, they could feel themselves falling apart.
Alex was trying to keep the hope in him as he was the eldest there, but he felt like he won't be able to do it for long, he was breaking from inside as the moments passed.
"OMG! What happened to her? Is she okay?" Rose asked as soon as she reached upstairs. She was worried that the children did something, but this was totally unexpected.
"She's breathing fine, we don't really know what happened," Alex tried to explain.
Alaric was shocked too, he couldn't believe it. It was all too much for everybody.
"Children, Why didn't you call us sooner? Aren't we, her parents? Or did you think that you guys were doctors? Huh?" Ric asked really worried.
All three of them had nothing to say. They realized that they should have called them, but they just couldn't. Their mind stopped working at that moment, they couldn't think straight.
"Calm down, Ric. There must be an explanation for it, right?" Rose looked at them with eager eyes ready to listen to the truth.
"Mom, A lot of bad stuff happened today and I'm really sorry for everything," apologized Sam.
Then he blurted out everything that happened today, his parents were shocked to hear it all. He also told about Pomphrey and her weird behavior.
Both Rose and Ric didn't know it was that dangerous.
"I'm sorry guys, I was just mad because of Sal," Ric said calmly.
"What do you mean by medicines? What kind of medicines did she give her?" his Mom asked after analyzing the whole thing.
"Well, it wasn't exactly the kind of medicines we use now. She gave her some weird herbs—she said that she was under some sort of spell so, she needed those herbs.
One thing more, madam Pomphrey acted really weird today. She got angry all at once and then left in a really weird manner," explained Alex.
"The last time I checked Pomphrey doesn't practice magic, so how could she know about the spell and the herbs? And impatient? Pomphrey isn't like that, she wouldn't be angry for no reason.
Something's definitely not adding up. If she's not herself, then the herbs she gave her aren't the cure either."
