In Viktor's throne room, she saw him sitting on his throne with a stern look on his face. She couldn't help but feel a sense of dread as she approached him. He looked up at her and said, "Sonja, I've been waiting for you. We have much to discuss."
Sonja could feel the voices in her head getting louder as she approached her father. Both Aria and Sonja's memories were telling her to be cautious and not trust him. She didn't know what to think but she knew that she had to be careful.
"Father, what is it that we need to discuss?" she asked, trying to keep her voice steady.
"I have received reports that you have been acting strange recently. I need to know what is going on with you." he said, his voice cold and unfeeling.
Sonja could feel the anger rising in her chest as she thought about how he had killed the original Sonja just because she was pregnant with Lucian's child. She knew that she had to be careful with what she said next.
"I have just been feeling a bit under the weather, nothing to be concerned about." she said, trying to keep her voice calm.
"I see. Well, I hope that you will be feeling better soon. We have important matters to attend to and I need you to be at your best." he said, his voice still cold and unfeeling.
She could feel the anger and hatred towards him from both Aria and Sonja growing inside her. She knew that she couldn't let him see it and she had to keep her emotions in check.
"Of course father, I will be sure to be at my best." she said, bowing her head.
"Good. Now, let us discuss the raise in banditry it's causing the human livestock to complain much more than usual. I need you to lead a squad into battle and make sure that we are rid of these virmin." he said, his voice now filled with a sense of pride and power.
Sonja could feel her heart racing as she thought about the war. She knew that she couldn't let her father win and she had to find a way to stop him. She knew that she had to play along for now and bide her time until she could figure out a way to stop him.
"Of course father, I will make sure that we are victorious." she said, bowing her head again.
"Good. Now, you are dismissed. I expect to see you at the war council meeting tomorrow." he said, dismissing her with a wave of his hand.
Sonja bowed her head one last time before turning and leaving the throne room. As she walked through the castle, she couldn't help but feel like she was in a nightmare. She knew that she had to find a way to stop her father and put an end to this war he was soon to start. She just didn't know how she was going to do it.
As Sonja walked through the castle, she knew that she had to come up with a plan to kill her father. He would like to maybe lock him away but the Aria inside her told her that Viktor was the type of man to never give up once he decided to kill something. If she really was pregnant then for the safety of her future child he need to die.
She knew that she couldn't do it alone and that she needed help. She thought about the people she could trust, her friends and allies. She went through a list of people who she could trust in her mind. Ultimately searching both minds she could only really come to Lucian, Aerin, Selina, and maybe Andreas Tanis.
Lucian loved Sonja so she knew he would die for her. Aerin and Selina she could trust because for most of her life as Sonja, these two maids were loyal to her and hadn't disclosed her affair with Lucian yet. Tanis on the other hand was not trustworthy but someone ruled by his ambition. He knew her secret but would keep it a secret only to blackmail her for power. So if she could offer him the power he desired then he would be her ally.
With her plan in mind, Sonja knew she had to act fast. She knew she couldn't let her father start the war and that she had to put an end to his reign of terror. She knew that she had to get to Lucian first, he would be her main ally in this mission. Although she felt bad about using him when she was unsure about her own feeling toward the man. The original Sonja had loved him and Aria had liked his character but she did not feel much of anything when she thought of him.
Luckily for her that Viktor had dismissed her and most vampires were now guarding the elders as they talked with Viktor. If there were ever a time to sneak away to see Lucian and tell him about her plan to take down Viktor now would be the time.
She knew that he loved her and that he would be willing to help her. She knocked on the door of the blacksmith area, and Lucian opened it, surprised to see her. Sonja looked around and made sure they were truly alone before she started to speak.
"Sonja? What are you doing here? Is everything alright?" Lucian asked, worried about her safety.
"Lucian, I need your help. I think I'm pregnant," Sonja said urgently.
"Pregnant!?" Lucian replied, so loudly that Sonja quickly moved to cover his mouth to quiet him.
Lucian removed her hand from his mouth and placed his hand on her stomach. He could fell nothing as Sonja had yet to start showing any sense of pregnancy yet. However, the mere act of placing his hand there caused tears to drip from his eyes. There was a child in there and it was his; a family all his own.
"I'm not truly positive yet but I believe so. I haven't been able to have the castle physician inspect my condition to be sure yet due to my father. I believe the moment he finds out about this he will not only kill you but also me and this child too," Sonja explained.
"No, your father loves you I can't see him harming you. Although he might attack the child. I believe we need to escape from here soon and go into hiding to protect our child," Lucian said, determined to help her.
Sonja breathed a sigh of relief, knowing that she had Lucian's support. She walked over and put her hand on his cheek and said, "I also believe we should do that too. However, I would like to bring three other people along with us."
"Who?" inquired Lucian truly curious as to who Sonja would like to take along
"Aerin, Selina, and maybe Andreas Tanis." answered Sonja
Lucian's face scrunched into an upset look as he said, "Aerin and Selina I could understand but why on earth would you want to bring Andreas Tanis along with us he is the kind of man who would sell his own mother for power."
Sonja nodded, understanding Lucian's concerns. "I know that Tanis is not to be trusted, but I spoke with him and he knows our secret and could easily reveal it to my father. I believe that if we offer him the power he desires, he will be willing to keep our secret and join us in taking down my father. He may not be a loyal ally, but he could be a useful tool in my plan," she explained.
Lucian's eyes widen when he heard the shocking words that Sonja had just uttered. "You want to take down Viktor?" he said.
"Yes," Sonja said. "I believe he will kill this child unless we kill him. I don't want to fight my own father but I will if that is what it takes to protect this child. We will leave this place and go into hiding but I truly don't believe this child will be safe until Viktor is dead."
Lucian looked at Sonja with a mix of shock and admiration. He had always known that she was a strong woman, but he never expected her to go to such lengths to protect their child. "I understand your reasoning, Sonja. And I will do whatever it takes to protect you and our child. But are you sure that this is the only way? Can we not just run away and start a new life somewhere else?" he asked.
Sonja shook her head. "I have thought about that, but I don't think that would be enough. My father has a vast network of vampires and other powerful creatures at his disposal. He will not rest until he finds us and kills us all. I believe that the only way to truly be safe is to take him down, once and for all," she said determinedly.
Lucian could see the determination in her eyes and knew that she was not going to change her mind. He also knew that she was right, that they could never truly be safe as long as Viktor was alive. "Alright, Sonja. I will support you in this. But we need to be careful and make sure that we have a solid plan in place before we make any moves. However I do not want to involve Tanis, he is too risky," he said.
Sonja nodded. "Very well I understand. We will be careful and make sure that we have a solid plan. Lucian together, we can do this. Now I must return before they become suspicious of us," she said, taking his hand in hers before leaving the smithery
As she walked away the emotion that showed on her face dissipated how a calculated look. She crossed her arms as she began to think, a trait she inherited from Aria.
'I feel bad for Lucian using his feelings for the original and a child which might not even exist. When we leave this place if I'm really not pregnant then I'll apologize. For now, I better head over to Tanis so that we can talk. Lucian is too noble but taking down Viktor is going to require us to get down and dirty.' thought Sonja
