Chapter 45 Alchemy 2
When Emilia heard this, she smiled and none," Naturally I will. I will do something so lowly as improsoning a talented Alchemist like yourself for my personal use."
"After all, who takes medicine from a person who wants to kill you. Is all, while we may have thousands of ways to save a life, we have the same number of ways to take one as well. And I don't want such a talented Alchemist to be my enemy."
Xavier nodded. He also understood that thoughts when she said there words.
"I'll start concocting the Qi Condensation Powder then. Bring me the ingredients." Xavier said as he went and sat down in the centre of the Alchemist room.
The place he sat down was a seat, in front of which was an array with complicated patterns. Xavier could see at a single glance that these were used to support alchemy but he also felt that they were so crude that he might as well scrap the arrays and concot the powder without any external assistance.
Emilia nodded and went outside the room. After a few minutes, she bright it a cat filled with numerous sets of ingredients which were arranged according to the order of their refinement.
Emilia came in and saw that Xavier had closed his eyes in meditation. She waited for a few minutes and when he opened his eyes, she passed the car forward and said," There are 10 sets of ingredients in here. I need you to prepare at least 2 bottles of Qi Condensation Powder from this. If you do so, then I'll give you some advantages."
Xavier nodded and looked over to the ingredients.
He then frowned upon seeing the ingredients. They were all way too high of a grade to concoct a Qi Condensation Powder of such a low stage.
He wanted to ask about it but he was too lazy to do so and got to work. He sat down and began arranging the ingredients in an orderly fashion.
Emilia, who was watching this, was observing him like a predator stalking its prey. She wanted to see the procedure which Xavier would do in order to concoct the Qi Condensation Powder. After all, even she was barely able to concoct it and that was only when she was lucky.
But quickly she was surprised. She had already arranged the ingredients in a way that was optimum for refinement but she saw that Xavier ghar arranged them in a very different manner.
She wanted to make sense of this arrangement but no matter how much he tried to, she couldn't make heads or tails of it. She immediately began to doubt if Xavier was really an Alchemist or not.
Previously when she had said that she knew Xavier was an Alchemist, the confidence she had shown was just a ruse. She had guessed about that matter but was never fully confident in it and wanted to test it out today. She had even brought out the only sets of ingredients for the Qi Condensation Powder she had right now. These were kept for her practice
Although they were not expensive, they were not something which you could get at a remote place like the South Star City.
Xavier could sense the doubt in Emilia's eyes but he didn't mind. As far as he was concerned, the alchemy which was practiced here was way too backwards and didn't enter Xavier's eyes at all.
He was far too advanced that he didn't care about her doubts. If he were to care about it, it would be like a thousand years old Saint carrying about the taunt of an infant.
He continued in arranging all the herbs and finally closed his eyes again to meditate.
But what he was actually doing was trying to figure out a way to concoct the powder without showing off too much.
'Ahh, when can I truly show the event of my alchemy! Sigh, if I show it, it will surely shock the whole world and getting too much attention is also a bad thing. How much time would a talented person like me spend on obscurity to protect myself from greedy people.' Xavier soon his head internally as he sighed.
He put these thoughts in the back of his head and saw the alchemical furnace which was in front of him. This was a bad furnace, a truly bad furnace but these materials were damn good.
'Whoever made this cauldron, I'll send him to the pigpen to get him gangbanged by the pigs in there because they did the same with this cauldron. Such good materials, it even contains Origin Gold and Sky Copper, 2 grade 3 materials and they are used to make a measly grade 1 furnace!' Xavier was sitting in his head indignantly.
He immediately wanted to dismantle this furnace and use the materials to create something better but he knew that if he did so, the fact that he was proficient in many other arts would be revealed as he he didn't want any of that to happen, especially in front of Emilia, who's purpose he didn't know.
He then made a sign in his hands and a wish of his Yang flames came out and lit the furnace.
"Ahh! An innate fire!" A shocked scream was heard throughout the room and Xavier was startled. He turned around and saw Emilia covering her mouth with her hands, her eyes widened with surprise.
"What happened?" Xavier asked as he looked at her curiously.
"You have an innate flame!" She replied with the same shocked tone.
"You mean this?" Xavier withdrew another wisp of the Yang flame and played with it in his fingers as he looked at Emilia with a bit of doubt.
Emilia snapped out of her shock and became so excited that she began to tremble.
"Yes, it is an innate flame. Do you know how valuable an innate flame is to an Alchemist?"
"No." Xavier replied bluntly.
"Of course you don't understand. I don't know who taught you but seeing your achievements, I think someone who is a very powerful hermit taught you but didn't enlighten you in the ways of life."
"An innate flame is a treasure for Alchemist alchemists. Usually alchemists use fire born from early sources like pill coal and other high grade materials of the fire attribute but no matter how good the flame is, is still an outside entity and even the most skilled Alchemist can't guarantee that he can execute perfect control resulting in many alchemical failure."
"But, it was different for those who have an innate flame. These flames are all extensions of their bodies itself and they can control it like they control their limbs and the flames are usually of a higher grade as well. As the Alchemist grows stronger, the flame becomes of a higher grade as well."
Xavier, who just found out about it, was surprised. Even though the Yang For was not actually an innate flame, it was infinitely close to one.
Xavier had learnt many things in the system training space but not the masters of the world and he was truly an ametuer in these matters.
Xavier wanted to quickly get this over with and said," I'll concoct the powder now. Don't disturb me during the process."
Emilia also realised the blunder she had made when she shouted that time and nodded and stuck her tongue out. She didn't look like the dignified Dean who was working just a few moments back.
Xavier then started the refinement. He put the cauldron again and put one ingredient after the other and his Yang flames started refining them at blistering speeds.
'As expected of an innate flame. If an ordinary Alchemist wanted to refine the Azure Cold Grass, he would need at least half an hour but Xavier can refine it within 20 minutes!' Emilia exclaimed in her mind.
If Xavier knew what she had said, he would have the impulse to scowl at her. He was trying his best, not to finish the pill refinement too quickly. If he wanted to, he could finish the refinement within 5 seconds but he had to hold back. It was like when he was blue balled by Emilia a day back.
'It seems like she likes blue balling too much!' Xavier thought.
He went on refining the herbs and finally formed the liquid. Now was the time to make it into a powder but Xavier, who had practiced alchemy for 10000 years, without knowing, fused the medicinal liquid and formed the pill.
He slapped the furnace and it's lid opened up to reveal 5 pills, which were green in colour flew out from the furnace. He bought a pill bottle from the system and like it was second nature, stored them inside the bottle and kept it aside.
He immediately realised what had happened and hurriedly turned around to look at Emilia, only to find out that she was looking at him with her eyes wide open but at the same time, having an excited glint on her face.
