Chapter 39 The Training Chamber.
Xavier, after having his fun and getting his long needed release came out from the academy. He had been wanting to have this feeling from the time he had gotten his first experience but didn't have the chance to and at the same time today, the Dean blueballed him and sent him out without satisfying what she had started.
Xavier came to his dorm room. Inside there, Sheila who was sitting cross legged and was deep into Cultivation. He wanted to wake her up but seeing her consecration he refrained from doing so.
He then remembered that he had received the training room from completing his missions. He decided to take a look at it.
He told the system,' System, I want to go into the training room.'
[Yes host. ]
The very next moment, Xavier found himself in a white room without any borders. It was like the room extended to infinity in whichever direction he looked at.
Xavier looked at this room and tired around to take in the feeling of the room from all directions. He has spent about 10000 years in this kind of room training in his auxiliary stuff and now he had gotten his combat training room.
Previously, during that period of 10000 years, he had asked multiple times, of he could train in combat but the system has always shut him down saying that he didn't have any cultivation and couldn't access the combat training room.
And from seeing how it was available to him as soon as he reached the Martial Master stage and getting martial skills, he now knew the 2 criteria for combat room.
'System, what all can I do here?'
[You can learn anything related to combat host.]
'Can I learn about use of weapons?'
[Yes host.]
'What about martial skills.'
[Those too host.]
'Are there any other functions I don't know about?'
[You have to find that out yourself host.. The only thing system can say is that the only limits you face here will be those imposed by your imagination.]
When Xavier heard this, he was a little taken aback. He didn't know how his own imagination limited him. He put it in the back of his mind and started thinking.
'I first need to choose my main and auxiliary weapons. For the main weapon, I was always fond of swords and also I think I have a good aptitude with it. And for my second weapon, I need a long range weapon and I think a bow will be good.'
'But what about a spear? It had both short range and long range capabilities but at the same time is very difficult to master.'
After thinking about it for a bit more, Xavier decided that he would go to the system store and buy skills related to swords, spears, bows and hidden weapons.
He had already seen in the system store that for his Martial Master level, there were only basic skills available and it was not like he could just download the abilities and do it perfectly like in the matrix.
While he could get the skill easily, he still needed to practice it as his brain and his muscles needed to engrain into themselves the feeling of using the skills.
After buying them, he started practising. He asked 4 hours each for the 4 skills and as he guessed, he was most talented in the sword. But what surprised him was that he was almost equally talented in hidden weapons use. He could hide them in various spot and user it so accurately that he himself found it scary by his own prowess.
After practicing all the skills for 4 hours and spending the 16 out of the 24 hours in the trading room, he was satisfied. And he could guess one of the effects of the training room now.
It was quick learning. While Xavier so needed to practice the skills he had bought from the system, the time needed to practice it inside this room was drastically reduced. If he would take the 6 hours to learn s skill in his outside world them he would take only 2 his to learn the same things here.
He was excited by this. After he finished this post, he wanted to train the Martial skills he had obtained.
This was one of the advantages of the training room provided by the system. You didn't need to reach the appropriate Cultivation level to learn some things.
For example, when Xavier had died and was in the room for the first time for 10000 years, he didn't have a single but if cultivation but the room had provided him with whatever he needed and he was able to learn and perform many things which, one would need a very high cultivation to achieve in real life.
He sat down and started studying the Martial skills he had gotten from Sheila. The first thing he wanted to study was the movement skill Fleeting Shadow steps, the LowerLevel Grade 2 Movement skill.
He wanted to learn this first because for offence he already could make weapons like his Barrett and others like a sword and for defense, he could make a shield and some armour but he couldn't make a reliable thing in increase his speed with the current level of materials he had access to.
He wanted to buy some artifacts which enhances his speed but the system said that he didn't have enough privileges in the system store to access artifacts as they could be used only by Grandmasters. Only on reaching the grandmaster stage will Xavier receive access to those artifacts and even then it was under strict regulation of the system. It said that he couldn't but any artifacts which he could refine himself under normal circumstances.
He looked through the skill and found out that this was not only a movement skill but also a stealth skill and was a part of the set along with Shadow Phase skill. The Shadow Phase skill was for stealth for stationary as well as slow moving objects but the movement skill was for moving but was not as effective when used alone and together they combined to form a stealth movement skill.
Xavier wanted to study it but he found out that he couldn't circulate his qi in the meridian which were specified by the skill manual. This was one of the reasons why Martial Masters couldn't learn martial skills.
They lacked spiritual power. To explain what spiritual power is and how it differs from qi, offer can take the example of the human body itself. In the human body, the main thing which does work it's our muscle. It is the one which causes movement and other actions and it also is the most abundant.
But at the same time, without the version and the nerves, one cannot control that muscle to perform any actions. They need the brain to be aware of the muscle and the nerves to command them to do their work. Without them, even the strives muscle is useless.
Qi and spiritual energy are the same. Way forms the muscles and spiritual energy forms the nerves and the sea of knowledge forms the brain. So without spiritual energy, they can't effectively circulate qi.
In respect to this, Martial Masters are like newbrons. They do not have well developed spiritual power and can just move around their qi just like newborns move around their kind without any purpose to exert force.
Whereas when the newborn gritted and gets the ability to better control it's limbs, it will be able to do more intricate tasks. This was the same for cultivators and it was a physical hai which couldn't be bridged by talent.
Xavier was getting frustrated Ankit not knowing what to do. But he suddenly remembered what the system had said, the limits here were the limits of his imagination.
If he couldn't do it on his own, he could just ask help. Just like his parents try to reach their children to talk by repeatedly saying words, he could also make someone teach him the same way.
He thought for a moment and his eyes flashed with a light. He chooses his eyes and immediately 2 figures appeared in front of Xavier.
Both were transparent but only had various threads throughout their bodies. These were the meridians which were unlocked in Xavier's body.
He had asked the system to make 2 dummies with his meridian network. One of these had the knowledge about the movement skill and could show how to circulate qi in the appropriate merchandise and the other would be a reflection of Xavier's qi circulation.
As he couldn't see it himself, he just needs a mirror to see it.
He ordered the first dummy to start circulating the movement skill.
Soon, a light started in the dantian of the dummy and went towards his legs and finally stepped in his calves and his feet. Inside there, they started moving in a specific pattern of meridians and completed a full circulation.
Xavier observed this and started doing this as well but with the help of his 2nd dummy. When he moved the qi from his dantian, he saw the light move in the dummy as well. He slowly followed the to route showed by the 1st dummy and his qi reached the calf.
He felt a slight pain issue his legs, probably due to circulating such a huge amount of qi inside them for the first time, but it was bearable but the moment he reached his foot, he felt like hell.
It was like someone had poked a stick inside his veins and pushing it back and forth to widen them.
It was excruciating but Xavier held on and move it. He finished one cycle and then started the next.
He slowly did the same again and again and after 6 hours, he finally could do the cycle without much pain.
They he moved. Immediately he dispersed from his spot. He was already 10 metres away the very next moment.
Xavier was surprised by his own speed. It was already 3 times faster than his usual speed and he didn't even master it well. And it was very quiet, just like a fleeting shadow in the midst of the night. Now he knew where this skill got its name from.
