Chapter 6 - five

Previously..

The blonde foreign boy jolts, suddenly losing his balance on his bike as he silently shrieked, slamming both of his feet down the ground as he pulls the brakes.

He sighed in relief, looking back to the tanned girl who's not there anymore, he hummed confusingly, darting his eyes everywhere as he looks for the latter, but decided not to as he then shakes his head, shaking the thought off.

He lifted one foot off the ground as he started paddling down the road again.

His first day of school was a very long day, though many things happened, he'll surely remember every moment.

. . .

3rd Person's POV

"That one's the weird kid who loves dragon ladies, that one's the artist who loves to draw furries-- oh! And that one.. just don't mind her."

The Second day of School has commenced, and here we see Dylan Brownham introducing everyone in the corridor to the foreign blonde boy.

"Here, how about we shut up.. and mind our own business?! Mr. Shark Guy?!" Aurora shrieks in agitation as the blonde boy squirms between the two who started smacking and pulling each other's hair.

"Aurora! Viktor! Here!" A familiar voice called as the raven swimmer snickered, not hearing his name being called.

Their head turned forward to see the Young Tanned Astronomer early as always at the end of the hallway seemingly reading something from a wooden chart board.

"W-What's this?" Viktor asked, scrutinizing the paper-filled wooden chart board, club recruitments, old newspapers and many silly sticky notes were posted in it.

"It's the School's Chart Board! So, we'll all be updated on what's coming and what has been done!" Estelle exclaimed, slamming the sturdy wooden chart board on the wall.

"Seems decent.." Viktor crooked a small smile.

"Well, good morning to you too." Aurora fixed her messy hair, grumpily standing beside the tanned girl who chortled on the blonde girl's current state.

"Good morning, Aurora. Now, what happened to you?" Estelle covered her mouth, stifling a loud giggle as the other only glared at the raven swimmer nearby.

"Your Mr. Chatterbox just ruined my hair! I've been brushing this for 25 minutes and now it's ruined again!" The blonde girl shrieks again as Dylan hid behind the foreign blonde boy in defense.

"I can tell." Estelle softly giggled, helping her best friend on hand combing her wavy curl strands as the said girl grunts as soon as the tan's fingers reaches the end of her blonde curly hair strand.

"So, why exactly did you call us?" Dylan raised his brows, wrapping an arm around Viktor's shoulder.

"As i was about to say.. the 2nd mid-term exam is next week!" Estelle crossed her arms as the four then stared at the newly posted paper on the wooden chart board.

"S-Second?" Viktor stammers nervously as the three looked at each other then back to the foreign transferee.

"Yup, well.. you might be an exception for the 1st mid-term exam so.. there's nothing to worry about that.." Estelle murmured, her forehead wrinkling unsurely.

"It's not that, you moron! It's only Viktor's first day of school yesterday! Plus! There's no subject classes he attended yesterday!" Dylan exclaims, mirroring the tanned girl's posture.

"It's pretty simple really." Aurora then crossed her arms, mimicking the two's posture as the three then looked at her, questioningly. "We'll be cramming the test on Estelle's house! With Viktor!" She added, eliciting an excited squeal.

"Eh?! Why is it my house?! Dylan has the biggest house here! Plus, his parents aren't always home!" Estelle cooed, disagreeing with the idea of the blonde girl.

"I know i'm rich, you don't have to flex me like that." Dylan smirked proudly, his eyes closed in a conceited manner as Aurora rolled her eyes at this.

"And that's why we're not going to study at his house." Aurora snickered as Viktor hums.

"How about we study where everyone agrees in?" Viktor shrugged his shoulders as Dylan smacked his lips, catching the three's attention.

"I don't really mind studying at my house, we have an indoor pool, a gaming room and lots of foo--"

"That's also another reason why we're not going to study at your house! We'll be distracted easily! Plus, estelle's mama's cooks are better." Aurora pouts, wrapping an arm around her best friend's arm.

"Ugh.. fine~" Dylan pouts, imitating the blonde girl as he wraps his around the foreign blonde boy's.

Estelle and Viktor looked at each other before sharing a chuckle.

As if on cue, the bell finally rang indicating the first subject class. Students started closing their lockers, jogging towards their designated rooms.

. . .

Viktor's POV

First subject was English.

I silently winced in my own thoughts as i fumbled on the cotton-like paper pages of the textbook.

Out of all the subjects, English was the very first one to begin with. I'm not really complaining about this subject.

Though, no one like me would like the English subject as their first period especially, that it's still 7:40 in the morning.

I started sweating even with the freezing temperature of the island, i flipped to the next textbook page only to find the words more different and difficult from the last page.

There's so many different words and funny letters scribbled all over the textbook pages, some are even in cursive which i'm not so familiar with.

I huffed, my lips shaping as the letter 'o' blowing a small whistle out in process. I hummed, looking up our teacher who's scribbling words at the whiteboard.

My gaze moved towards my classmates who seemed to be catching up really well.

I internally shook my head as i closed the textbook, admiring the letters on the cover of the book, my fingers grazed over the written letters on the textbook as if it's the only interesting thing in the world.

Until, i felt the chair beside me move and creak.

Earlier though, as soon as i entered the room with Aurora, Estelle and Dylan, our other classmates immediately sat on the seats inside the classroom.

As if it's already occupied... which it is.

I stood awkwardly as my gaze landed on the unoccupied seats at the end of the room, my attention was drawn towards the one beside the window which i quickly sat in.

The room was not small, it was not wide either. It was a perfect classroom for a highschool building with only a small amount of students in it.

The classroom has many seats too, the back row was where it was most empty.

So, it was surprising to see someone move seats and sit beside me all of a sudden.

I blinked a few times as i slightly pursed my lip, slowly raising my head away from the textbook to see Estelle smiling warmly at me beside me.

I almost flinched as i was about to smile back when she grabbed my textbook from me, opening the first few pages.

I blinked a few times once again as i looked down to the opened notebook.

"Aurora said she saw you having a hard time reading the textbook, so she sent me here to help you out." Estelle stated as i looked not far from my seat to see Aurora nodding knowingly to me.

"T-Thank you." I shyly murmured, slightly bowing in thanks as she gently shook her head.

"You don't really have to bow at me so formally. We're already friends, viktor." She giggled as i sat straight up, reluctantly nodding in understatement. "I understand you, you know? English isn't my first language as well. My elementary experience was a total hell." She added, shaking her head horrendously.

I unknowingly smiled as she started narrating her elementary experiences, her nose crunched in distraught, reminiscing her seemed to be bad memories, but i only stared at her.

I don't want to come out as a spiteful creep, everything in her is undeniably admirable. Her ambitiousness, her enthusiasm, her social skills. I would name everything, but it's all too much.

I only met her yesterday, but i feel like i've know her for a week now.

"--boys in elementary would always make fun of my funny accent when i would recite an english poem infront of the class--"

"Ms. De Guzman? Would you like to talk with me instead of disturbing the new student please?"

I flinched as we both turned our neck towards our professor, he raised a brow at Estelle as she was about to talk when i softly chuckled.

"I am dreadfully sorry, Mr English Teacher. Ms. De Guzman was only helping me catch up on the topic. I'm having a hard time understanding a few words, but you should keep going, sir. We'll be shortly with you." I apologetically smiled as i gave him a small bow. He awkwardly froze almost dropping the marker in his hand whilst our other classmates had their jaw dropped staring at me with widened eyes.

I turned to Estelle who also had her jaw dropped and locked on me in bewilderment, i confusingly stared back at her.

"Well, shall we continue, Ms De Guzman?" I softly smiled, bobbing my head questioningly, snapping her out of her thoughts as she quickly darted her eyes everywhere, pulling her baby hair out of her face..

"Yes." She croaked out. "D-Definitely should continue, Mr Kei." She quickly nodded before pulling the english textbook close to her, reading the first paragraph.

My gaze moved down the english textbook again as i hummed melancholy.

"Here, how about you tell me which words you find hard to understand and i'll explain it for you." She inquired as i gently nodded, i scooted closer beside her to get a good view of the book as i started reading the first pages.

These topics are definitely different from the topics we learned from japan.

Good thing, Estelle's here to help me with the subject or else, i'll surely fail the exam. Speaking of exam i should also worry about it too.

I sighed, this will surely be a long day..
