It had been a month since the initial talk with her family, and everything had been progressing smoothly. The game had mentioned that the Von Blackwood duchy was as rich as a kingdom, and their magic as powerful as imperial family's, and that was the genuine truth.
Another reason Estella Nyx Von Blackwood was deemed a villainess despite her beautiful and noble aura was because of her family's darkness magic, "umbrage". Although she had plenty of secret admirers, it all came crashing down when Rosemary came in, the epitome of "luminescence", a bright light.
While Estella looked like a gorgeous star, bright eyes and always wearing a darker wardrobe that exposed her curves and body in the right places. Rosemary on the other hand, was the opposite.
Rosemary was surprisingly tall for a woman, with the legs, and figure of a model. Her hair was a soft lilac purple, and her eyes a shade of tea green, while her skin was nearly as beautiful as Estella's. She mainly wore bright pinks and pastels, another annoying trope.
Comparing the two would be worthless. Estella clearly looked like a priceless gem, but as Rosemary was the protagonist, the world had decided her looks were superior. She was the soft angel that fell from heaven, while Estella was a temptress that belonged to the abyss, an evil monster.
The thought alone was annoying. "If those cowards gave Estella a character model people would play the game solely for her!" She thought, biased.
"There's only one thing they did right. I have to thank the game developers for being so vague in their world building." Estella thought as the maids dressed her up for her outing. It was a bit awkward at first, but she was used to it by now.
The developers had lazily written the plot, and did a poorer job at making sense of the world. How on earth was the "villainous Von Blackwood duchy" so rich and powerful and not take over the declining country yet? The game described them as evil, except for Astrophel!
The game also never went into depth about the other kingdoms, solely that they exist, and the two neighboring countries were at war. In year three, Rosemary uses her ultimate light magic to heal the soldiers on the brink of death, and is hailed a hero. "How dumb." she murmured aloud on accident, hoping no one heard her.
The one thing the writers did a lot of though, was talk about magic. "If I'm correct, both the darkness and light magic are the most powerful." Estella thought, another reason to give the game a negative review, how basic. A villain uses demonic stuff and a heroine uses healing stuff, how cool.
It looks like it was up to her to strengthen her darkness magic. "In the game, Estella became very skilled fueled by her jealousy and desire to be better than Rosemary, but why should I do that? I'll just cheat through it." She thought, glad she actually finished all the game routes as a hardcore otome fan, and paid attention to anything Estella related.
In the secret harem route, Estella who was overwhelmed with animosity, spent a year searching for a book passed down in her family for the name of a high tier demon, and how to summon him. Truly, a villainous family.
In the end, the demon is forced to obey her after she summons him and signs a contract, and he increases her magic power, where she is the last boss fight in the route, which ends in her death. "Now that I think about it, they didn't even bother to do anything for that scene! They just ignored Estella's one major boss moment!" she thought.
"Good thing the game mentioned his name and method of summoning, at least." She thought as a smile subconsciously formed on her face.
As the maids finished up, she was snapped back into reality, looking at the mirror in front of her. She's seen this face plenty of times now every morning, but she just can't believe how beautiful Estella really is!
"Thank you, you're all dismissed. Tell my brother I will be out soon." Estella said, holding her head high as she got up from her seat, the maids nod, bowing as they take their leave.
The day had finally come where she and her brother would travel to Aeziran, to meet the imperial family, and discuss their plans and offer to support them. As a male lead, Astrophel's ability to wield his darkness magic was impeccable, and just as they were twins, Aesterix could as well, if not better. They would be quite stupid to decline the free help, especially since once way or another, the Uriean kingdom would fall to the duchy's hands.
Although it may seem suspicious for both her and her brother to suddenly travel to another country for a few weeks, the imperial family was foolish. So long as they claimed to "strengthen the bond between countries" they would simply believe it. "But, it's not like they would notice, anyways." She thought.
With the maids now gone, she could put to practice what she had wanted to do earlier. She remembered the details from the game surprisingly clearly, and put this on her to do list a month ago anyways.
Spending her time to casually summon a demon, she began to bite her finger, progressively harder until it drew blood. "I'm sorry for damaging your? my? body, Estella."
She began to draw the family crest of the duchy, a giant black tree with hands of darkness emerging from it, the background a crimson red, small white details, and on the outside gold intricate carvings. It's a good thing one of the cutscenes had all the family crest's presented atop.
It was in the overall shape of a shield, with some pointy bits for the carving, which was relatively easy to work with, just needing to make sure to draw a tree with some hands in the middle of it. Also, some little specs of blood for detail.
She swore she didn't use that much blood, but looking at the floor would beg to differ. Perhaps it was too large? Oh well.
Taking a deep breath, she called out the name of the character, who also, never got a sprite or any illustration. "Fenrir" she said.
Nothing happened, causing her to repeat. "Fenrir…" it clicked what she was missing. "Fenrir I summon you to fulfill your oath to the Blackwood descendent."
Soon, the room began to rumble, like an earthquake was happening. White smoke filled the room, coming out of the spread blood. Soon, a man formed from the smoke.
He was tall, much taller than Estella, at least by a foot. "He has to be at least six feet!" She thought, staring up at this surprisingly handsome man?
His eyes were a baby blue while his hair was platinum blond, if anything, he were an angel. Estella's jaw nearly dropped as he looked up at her, running a hand through his hair.
He was slightly tanned with a really nice figure, even his voice was pretty. "Are you the one who summoned me?" He asked.
"Yes, I am Estella Nyx Von Blackwood and I would like for you t-" she began, but before she could finish he burst out laughing.
"What? That's a ridiculously long name! Sorry, I can't understand nobles." He said, regaining his composure.
"That's understandable, I feel the same way Fenrir. Just call me Estel or my lady from now on." She replied, hands on her hips.
It was Fenrir's turn to raise a brow, looking down at her. "My lady? Aren't you awfully confident you can enter a contract with me." He teased.
"I am, you are aware you owe my family a favour, right? Or something. I just want you to boost my magic." She replied.
"You don't even know what I owe you?" He deadpanned, finding it hard to believe it was her who summoned him.
"Does it matter?" She began, the game never went into details, and it's not like she would spend a year finding the ancient book. "Enter a contract with me and I'll let you see something interesting."
"Ah? What can a tiny creature like you show me?" His look turned into a glare, while a cocky grin was plastered on his face, looking down on her.
"The fall of Uriean, from its imperial family being tossed aside, to the duchy claiming the throne, and then winning war against Vraxus." Estella calmly told him, making him choke on his own spit.
"You sound awfully calm and confident?" He said in disbelief. Surely she wasn't going to joke with him like that, right?
"Believe it or not it is true. The imperial family is nothing against the duchy, follow me for three weeks and you'll see it's true. After all, I plan to go to the Aezarin empire now to help aid them in war." Estella began said, making direct eye contact.
"If I'm lying, then you can kill me and take my life." She said as she finished, adding an assurance his time wouldn't be wasted.
Amused and in disbelief, Fenrir agreed, finding charm in this small girl. If it is indeed true, then he would be willing to give her all the magic she needed, so long as she entertained him.
On the other hand, Estella was patting herself on the back. It totally felt like a smug moment, with a mixture of "get in loser, we're going to plan treason and aid the Aezirian imperial family for war" moment.
"Before we go though, you need to change into something else, I'll summon a maid to bring you a knight's uniform." She said, eying him up and down.
He wore a short black crop top exposing his muscles, with a cloak overtop. He had on black combat boots with slight heels, with white pants, over all, he was good looking for sure. Just what exactly was the style he was going for, though?
"Why?" He asked, hand on his hip as he tilted his head, reminding her of her cat she once had, that killed her.
"From now on, you're my knight escort, of course. I can't just tell my family I summoned a demon, right?" She responded, signing internally. Maybe none of the characters in this world were that bright.
Huffing, he snapped his fingers and his outfit changed into that of a regular knights uniform. "There, happy now?" He questioned, now crossing his arms.
"Much, now let's head out to the carriage." She smiled, now happy and excited. Just because Estella was a villainess doesn't mean she needs to have the same ending as one! Time to commit treason.
