Narene woke up with a sting in her eyes. They burned, feeling like she had sand in them, depicting the clear symptoms of sleeplessness.
She hadn't slept much the previous night due to having shared a bed with Sharen. Shar—in all her twisted ways—had made sure to give them a room that had only one bed and a cushion. Sharen had taken the bed due to his healing wounds and had insisted that she share it too. He'd said that it wasn't good for her to sleep on the hard floor or cushion.
Fryssel had ended up on the cushion. But, Narene was barely able to sleep. Being too close to Sharen made her uncomfortable and she made sure to lie like a log, not brushing against his skin. However, she did have skin contact for the temptation was usually too great.
