Chapter 7 - 7

At first I thought it was just a stature.

But when it moved his massive head in our direction and sniffed the air I realized it wasn't.

I was about to sream when Peter coverted my mouth with his large tattooed hand.

Then he hastily whispered "Don't.Move."

I nodded and he slowly lowered his hand, letting it rest on my shoulder.

We were both frozen in shock, neither of us even dared to blink.

I kept on staring at this thing, trying to wrap my head around it but no matter how hard I tried my brain just couldn't comprehend what I was seeing.

It wasn't even it's enormous hight or it's lizard like appearance that scared me the most but the fact that my brain exactly knew what this two legged beast was.

A god damn dinosaur.

I was even pretty sure about what kind of species it was and that made it even worse.

"If we don't move it can't see us right?" I whispered, my voice laced with fear.

Peter frowned and ever so slightly shook his head.

"It has eyes and a brain. It also can probably smell us."

"But... in the movie they said...if you don't move..." I stuttered.

"Do you believe everything you see on TV?" Peter scoffed.

Well yes. Television and books were after all my only source for information when it came to the world outside of the asylum. Besides I heavily doubted that anybody else, who hadn't been locked up for most of there life, would have known how to behave in this kind of situation.

It wasn't like you just normally stumbled into a seventeen feet *(5.2 m)* tall, carnivorous dinosaur in the woods.

This kind of stuff just didn't happen.

My thoughts got drawn back to the problem at hand when I noticed the beast was slowly stalking towards us.

I turned towards Peter, grabbed the hem of his tshirt and pulled on it to get his attention..

"Get us back. Peter please! I don't want to die!" I whimpered.

He hushed me and closed his eyes.

I looked over my shoulder and saw that this thing was now way to close for comfort.

Again I tried to bagged him to bring us back but to no avail. He just ignored my pleading.

When I head the loud thumping noises get even closer, I mentally prepared myself to have to run for my life at any second.

Peter on the other hand seemed just as calm as normally.

He didn't even flinch when I repeatedly slapped his arm and screamed at him to do something.

A glance over my shoulder, almost getting a heart attack from what I saw.

The thing was no longer just slowly walking towards us but instead had started running and was picking up speed quickly.

I screamed Peter's name and this time hit his arm as strong as I could but again nothing.

If he really wanted to end up as a dinosaur snack, fine but I wasn't about to give up that easily.

I spinned around and darted off.

But to my horror I didn't get far, maybe just a few feet before Peter had wrapped his arms around my waist and dragged me back to the spot he had been standing on.

I kicked and screamed at him to let me go but he just tightened his grip, making it almost feel like my spine was about to break.

I quickly looked in the direction of the monster. A high pitched screamed was all I managed when I saw it opening it's mouth and running at full speed twords us.

It had gotten so close enough that I could see its crocodile like teeth, that were almost as long as my forearm.

I panicked and grabbed onto Peter for dear life, burrowing my face intohis neck.

Just a second later the dinosaurs powerful jaws closed around us.

Dieing didn't feel as bad as I had thought. I had expected it to be way more painful but instead it felt more like a punch in the stomach paired with the feeling of falling.

"Hey guys. Welcome back." I hear Preston say.

It took me a moment to process but then I understood.

Slowly I lifted my head.

We where in the padded room again.

Peter slowly let me down. My knees were still wobbly so I leaned half of my weight against him for support.

I looked around, trying to piece everything together.

Then it fully sunk in.

"WE ARE DEAD!" I screeched.

"But how? Why? What?"

Peter sight seemingly bothered by my questions.

He opened his mouth to answer but then was interrupted by Preston.

"Uhm could we maybe do the explaining later? I don't think I can handle this any longer."

I turned towards him and saw that his nose was heavily bleeding.

I was about to ask what was wrong but before I could Peter cursed under his breath and grabbed my arm, pulling me after him.

"Where are we going?" I questioned while awkwardly stumbling after him and Preston through the darkened hospital corridor.

Peter just shrugged his shoulders, so I looked to Preston, hoping to get a better answer from him.

But he just grinned and said "Into the unknown."
