Chapter 19 - The Car I Sat In Was A Phaeton!

"Miss Yates, take a look at this photo. Is this the car you sat in yesterday?"

Susan's gaze followed the police officer. She saw him push a photo in front of her. After carefully taking a look, she shook her head plainly. "No!"

Such an answer caused the police officers to be shocked and look at each other at the same time.

This was inconsistent with the results of their previous investigation and evidence collection…

Based on Felicia's testimony, after Susan bade farewell with them, she got into this car. It was also because this car had hit her calf yesterday night that she could recognize it immediately.

However, Susan's reply was different.

The police officer frowned slightly and knocked on the photo, as if reminding her, "Miss Yates, please take a closer look. Do you really not recognize this car?"

Susan looked at the police officer strangely. Her eyes flashed and she recalled certain memory fragments. Coupled with her guess, she immediately had a clue. "Is this car the car that hit Felicia?"

The police officer didn't hide this. "That's right! Information on this escape vehicle was retrieved from the vehicle management department. The car owner is surnamed Owens. We compared it with the road surveillance cameras yesterday and it was indeed this same vehicle."

"I see…" Susan nodded. Then, she looked at the police officer with clear eyes. "I haven't seen it. I also don't know the car owner surnamed Owens."

The police officer was speechless.

The atmosphere became tense for a moment!

The police officers' attitudes were still calm, but they revealed anxious expressions. The verbal testimonies of both parties were different. One of them must be lying.

Without waiting for them to ask further, Susan provided an answer. "This car is an ordinary Magotan. The car I got into after bidding farewell to Felicia is a new Phaeton!"

They were almost the same appearance, but there was a huge difference between them.

Upon hearing this, the expressions of the two police officers turned ugly.

The inquiring police officer looked at Susan intently. In his line of sight, Susan was confident and her eyes were clear. She didn't avoid his gaze at all and let him size her up.

Comparatively, Felicia had a tearful attitude in the ward. When they recorded her testimony, she had her head lowered most of the time and had very little eye contact with them. Thinking about it again, there were traces of her deliberate concealment.

Based on past experience, they were more willing to believe Susan's words.

After all, a person's character could be seen easily.

From the beginning to the end, no slight changes appeared on Susan's extremely attractive face. Her words and actions were generous.

Knock, knock.

In the quiet interrogation room, knocking sounds could be heard suddenly.

Both police officers kept their thoughts. When they opened the door, they could see the instructor standing outside.

"Instructor Little, why are you here?"

The auxiliary police personnel hurriedly got up and wanted to give him his seat. The other party lifted his hand and signaled the two to go out.

Susan was left in the interrogation room and the silence was restored again.

She lowered her head and played with her nails. She started to connect the series of events together.

Felicia had put in so much effort to give her a 'great gift.' How should she repay her?!

After a while, the inquiring police officer entered the room alone. He picked up the document on the table and said to Susan, "Miss Yates, thank you for cooperating. We will follow up and announce the results of the investigation as soon as possible!"

Susan looked up at him. She relaxed and smiled comfortably. "I'll have to trouble you then!"

"No trouble at all. I'll send you out!"

The attitude of the police officer wasn't very different, but Susan inexplicably felt that he seemed nervous.
