Outside the office, Hans was waiting quietly by the door. When he saw Susan coming out, he smiled and greeted her, "Miss Yates."
Susan nodded. She looked mournful and resentful. After entering the lift, she sighed deeply.
At the lift entrance, Luke Madison watched Susan leave. When the lift door closed, he whistled and waved at Hans. "Hans Hans, who's that girl?"
Hans trembled all over. He was disgusted by Luke addressing him as 'Hans Hans.'
Before Hans could reply, Brad said in a low voice when he heard footsteps approaching, "Don't hit on her!"
Luke's light-hearted expression immediately faded. He turned to look at Brad and curiously probed, "Brad, you know her?"
This was amazing!
The fourth son of the Quin family was actually interested in women?
Hans interjected quietly from the side, "Mr. Madison, if nothing goes wrong, Miss Yates should be the future wife of the CEO."
"Damn!"
…
In the evening, at a music bar.
The resident singer sang a poignant and sentimental tune on the stage. In a comfortable seat filled with the fragrance of wine, Susan held a glass of cocktail and took a sip from time to time, her eyes looking lost.
Her best friend, Faye York, sat opposite from her. Faye looked at her with interest with her fair and pretty face. She propped her elbows on the table and teased, "That means to say that you're engaged now?"
Susan put down her glass and laughed coldly. "How is this an engagement? What era is it now? How can parents decide on a thing like this?!"
Faye sighed and tried to comfort her. "Actually… it's not a bad thing to be married to the Quin family. Who in Chicago doesn't know that the Quin family is wealthy and noble? Furthermore… that Brad Quin has always been mysterious. I think it's a hundred times better to get married to him than THAT person!"
That person… Faye didn't say the name directly as they had an unspoken mutual understanding.
Upon hearing this, Susan suddenly stopped in her action of picking up the cocktail glass. Then, she returned to normal.
Faye witnessed this sight. She sighed in her heart and felt heartache.
Several years had passed. It seemed that Susan had not walked out from that relationship yet.
"Oh, isn't this our famous model, Susan Yates?"
Suddenly, a sharp and malicious voice sounded from behind.
Faye frowned and had an ominous feeling.
Looking at Susan's current state again, her cheeks were stained with a faint red. Her eyes looked misty and innocent, and it was clear that she was tipsy.
Faye leaned in, lowered her voice, and said to Susan, "Let's go!"
Susan raised the corners of her mouth mockingly. She gave a side glance and mimicked the other party's tone. "Oh, isn't this the daughter from a rich family, Xyla Young?"
Xyla and the man behind her were just standing by a seat. When she heard these words, her delicate face sank instantly.
She knew that Susan was being sarcastic.
Many people in the circle knew that because of her vanity, Xyla deliberately packaged herself as a daughter from a rich family after entering the circle. In the end, she was exposed, and traces of her scandal could still be searched on the Internet.
"Mr. Yach, wait for me there, alright?"
Xyla couldn't hold back her expression. However, she had to act like a spoiled child in front of the man next to her. Thus, she spoke softly and tactfully.
Mr. Yach pouted and his tone wasn't friendly. "Hurry up then!"
"Yes, I'll be right over after saying hello!"
After sending Mr. Yach away, Xyla immediately lost her smile. She wrapped her arms around her chest and looked at Susan from atop condescendingly. "Why are you drinking late at night after obtaining a spot at the Milan Fashion Week? If the paparazzi see this, you'll make the headlines!"
