Chapter 19 - Was Touched by His Meticulous Care of Sue

"Enough, Catherine! How much longer do you want to make a scene? The Cantwell Family will take care of Sue on our own. It's not for an outsider to curry favor with us!"

Lisa, who had been silent all this while, growled impatiently.

Catherine finally understood. If even her own aunt said that she was an outsider, then whatever she said or did would be superfluous.

She turned her gaze and looked at Morty with some reluctance. Catherine then ran away in despair.

Without Catherine's unreasonable disturbance, the corridor became much quieter.

..

After that, when Sue woke up again, she just opened her eyes and felt that her hand was tightly held by someone.

Following her line of sight, she saw that Morty's eyes were hazy.

Feeling a movement from the bed, Morty immediately opened his eyes.

When he confirmed that Sue had woken up, Morty pressed the call bell and asked worriedly, "Sue, are you feeling unwell?"

When she met Morty's concerned gaze, Sue was touched.

"Morty, why are you so good to me?" Sue asked heartily as she shook her head at Morty.

"Because you're as cute as a kitten!" Morty replied with a half-smile. Then, he reached out and rubbed Sue's hair lovingly.

Then, he continued, "What do you want to eat? The body management team that your father hired for you will make a new serving of millet porridge and meatballs every half an hour. If you want to eat anything else, I'll have the nanny make it and send it over!"

"Millet congee!" Sue replied.

Morty nodded. Just as he was about to get up and ask the so-called experts why they had not arrived yet, he saw the door of the ward open.

About seven or eight people in uniforms walked in. The leader was holding a tray in his hand.

Then, the group of people divided the work. The medical staff checked the body while the person holding the tray carefully placed the millet congee on the table.

Then he said, "Miss Sue, the millet porridge is easy to digest, so I have to trouble you to consume the millet porridge to warm your stomach for the next few days. Next, we will use medicinal tonic to condition you to a healthy state as soon as possible!"

"Thank you!" Sue said gratefully.

"It's the least we can do!" The medical staff picked up the bowl and was about to feed Sue.

"Let me do it!" Morty reached out to take the bowl and said.

"Remember to remind Miss Sue to take her medicine after dinner!" The medical staff reminded him.

Seeing Morty nod, the group of people left the room quietly after the testing.

There were only the two of them left in the room. Sue was a little embarrassed and wanted to take the bowl for herself.

"Open your mouth!" Morty said in a domineering manner towards Sue's action, but yet he did the gentlest thing.

He scooped a spoonful and blew it gently a few times before bringing it to Sue's mouth.

Sue opened her mouth to eat a few mouthfuls. Just then, the door was quietly pushed open, and someone outside the door was stunned.

"Morty, I didn't believe it when I heard from the medical staff just now! How could a cold man like you, who lead a pampered life, actually know how to serve people? It's really better to see it once than hear it a hundred times. Tsk tsk tsk... do you think your fans would go crazy if I took a picture and put it on the Internet?"

Mike pushed the door open and said in a ruffian tone.

When he was glared at by Morty, Mike even made a face as if he was the winner.

Sue was embarrassed.

As a world-renowned movie tycoon and famous director, did mom know that her elder brother was acting childishly?

And when he threatened Morty, could he have some intelligence?!

"Brother, aren't you afraid that your sister will be attacked by Morty's fans?" Sue said helplessly.

If she wasn't afraid that her brother's pride would be hurt, she actually wanted to ask: what was the idea behind this tactic of Pyrrhic victory?

"So, we siblings didn't agree to this Morty marrying you at all. I don't know what dad was thinking. He knew that we were all worried about you, but he agreed to only Morty's request and let him stay alone with you!"
