"Just... come back in good shape," Brant said. Lagertha looks at him and knows she can trust him in killing all that oppose the humans.
She could also tell that he cared about her more than anyone on the earth; she was the last person he would ever want to see her die. Then Brant stares on as she goes out the window to face the great foe of the night. He watched her abilities and strength protect her against all odds when all hope seems lost. Then Lagertha looked up and saw that Brant was still gazing at her to make sure she would be alright. Nobody else would try to join the Wolf Queen in the fight against the beast of sorcery.
Then Brant looked at Lagertha's longsword and beheld its glory to his eyes, and it stunned him at how different it looked compared to other swords. He gazed upon its glorious stature and tried to figure out exactly where this type of sword came from. Then, he holds it up to the sky to see if he can actually wield it and try to kill a demon with it. To his surprise, he could hold it and use it to his advantage, but nobody else had the power to hold Lagertha's blade. He assumed it was because of how much he has been with Lagertha, and it may have been by how much love he showed to her.
"This sword... where did it come from? How did it come to be?" Brant asked himself. It was definitely better than his longsword; it was a sword worthy to cut down a beast who leads his own kin into battle.
It may have been a blade that would have taken an eternity for an ordinary human to craft from scratch. Brant could not think of a better reason Lagertha would lend him her own sword. But so long as he held it in his hands, the more powerful he could really be against the demons. Then Brant places Lagertha's longsword in his other scabbard, and he walks out of Greg's bedroom. He walks to the main hall to see if the knights were still guarding the door or if they were already outside.
They were still behind the front doors by the command of Earl Argon; none of them thought about going anywhere. None of the knights were planning to go outside to face a danger they knew they would not win. Brant finds Greg behind the group of knights, and he had a few things to say to him. He walks to him with Lagertha's longsword, and Greg is interested in the demon hunter.
"So how did it go?" Greg asked.
Brant answered and replied, "It went well. She knows what she's doing. What she is getting ready to do will determine the fate of your people. What else can I say other than she is no ordinary person? I've seen what she can do. Her blade can skewer a mythical animal, but she said that it won't work against a mythical demon."
"There's something I want to know about you and the Wolf Queen."
"Well... what do you want to know?"
"Are you both lovers? Do you two love each other? Is there anything you both promised each other during your journey?"
"It... it is a complicated tale. I might have the guts to tell you everything in the nearest tavern. I'd have to be drunk on ale if I want to tell you the truth about me and her. But know this... she is here to do that which no other can do. Her strength and stamina are higher than mine. Her mind and skill outmatch even the most skilled hunter. She fears no demon and serves no evil, Greg. That's all you need to know for now."
Brant and Greg stood with each other and witnessed the knights standing behind the front doors. They all wonder what Lagertha would plan for the knights of Clegane and the earl as she fights against Mundis. She already told Brant that she will fight the creature with her bare hands and allow Fate to decide who shall be the victor. Brant looked down at himself and knew he could not stand idly by and watch the Wolf Queen fight by herself. It would be dishonor in his mind if he made his only friend fight alone and likely die trying.
Meanwhile, Lagertha gazed at the full moon one last time, and she had her strength and durability take control of her. Her mind was set on protecting Earl Argon and set on defeating this demon who controls magic. Then, Lagertha leaps out of the window and lands on her feet as the darkness is all that became visible. The night would never give peace to those who hunt demons and drive out those who serve the night. This creature might be more than the Wolf Queen could handle, but Lagertha had no intention of sleeping.
She had no desire to walk away as this new monster slaughters more people in the name of King Mephiles. Godbrand knew what he would do to keep Lagertha away from the kingdom of Midland. Lagertha walks forward in the city to meet with Mundis so that they can face each other in combat. She walked outside and looked around to see if the demon could lurk anywhere. The night creatures who served Mephiles always worked in mysterious ways and valued human blood more than the blood of wild animals.
At first, Lagertha could hear nothing and feel nothing but the chilly air that breezed around her body. No other human could embrace the cold as she did, yet it seemed reasonable for them to not walk out at night. The earl lost almost half of his entire army just to defeat Mundis; he nearly had no hope to do everything himself. Lagertha continued walking straight to look for the magical beast, but she still found nothing. The Wolf Queen saw almost everything in the darkness, but the shadows were far greater than she could know.
"Show yourself, Mundis! I have come for you! Before the end, you will taste the chill of despair!" Lagertha said. She would let the coldest ice be the tomb for her greatest enemies and make the demons suffer at the end of their lives.
But before she could say anything else, a massive beast emerged from the shadows and walked towards the Wolf Queen. It was a creature who looked like a snow wolf with giant red eyes and fangs that looked like swords. The beast definitely looked like a creature created by the powers of Hell and existed to serve the king of Midland. Lagertha stopped walking and gazed upon the creature; it was apparent that his head was higher than the buildings. This monster was none other than Mundis, the beast of sorcery.
The snow wolf gazed down at Lagertha and hissed at her after discovering that she was all by herself. He also saw that she was not afraid of him and that there was a strange aura about her. All that Lagertha could see are the fangs from the sorcerer demon and her chances of fighting him without a sword. She did not want to risk her sword being like other blades that crack when it does not pierce flesh. Lagertha simply walked forward to Mundis and had her own arms to dodge or deflect any blow.
"Are you Mundis? I have come for you. Your days of devouring people end here," Lagertha said. The demon understood her tongue, and he knew that a brand new foe would fight him.
He tilted his head and waited for the Wolf Queen to pull her sword out and fight him like the other knights. The knights who once fought him only had mere moments left to live before getting devoured. Without hesitation, Lagertha held up her fists and became ready for a duel during the night. Her anger was geared towards all who served Mephiles and all who live to kill her. Then, Mundis laughs for a few seconds because they sent him a lady to fight him and not a noble knight.
The giant creature started circling the Wolf Queen, hoping to want to see if she can take him on. It did not appear that he could talk or have the desire to speak with his new opponent. Mundis was already in a mood for a bite and a wish to drink the blood of the Wolf Queen. Lagertha continued holding her fists up in the air to punch the demon and likely bring him to his knees.
"Mundis, you will not see the end of this night! This fight will be your last!" She shouted. Lagertha wanted him to fear her and make him come to his senses that he will see his god in the afterlife.
