"Brant... it's been far too long. I still don't know if we'll ever bump into each other again," Lagertha said. Even if they crossed paths with each other after an entire year, she would see him as a completely distinct person.
Unlike last time, where Brant would question every single thing that comes to his mind, he now knows how to fight with the sword and live by it. Truly, his father would be proud to see him in action, only if he were still alive and strong enough to see his son. But Brant did not need to go through the pain as much as Lagertha did when she left her family home. During this time, Lagertha pulled out her longsword and held onto it to defend herself against any creature. It would be a long night for her, but the nights would last much longer because of how much she pushed onward.
One minute later, a large group of demons circled Lagertha and have their weapons pointed at her face. For the past year, they finally discovered who their true enemy is; they did not expect it to be a young maiden. They expected the one who killed so many of their kin to be some brute man who has a massive hatred for all who serve the night. Lagertha looked at all the night creatures and feared none of them for what they might do to her. She then points her sword at one beast and had her eyes focused on the first demon she might slay this night.
"There is no other way out of this fight. I bring death to every demon," Lagertha said.
"Give it your best shot. Even you won't live to tell about this encounter," one of them said.
"Your deaths will not be gentle. This feeling I have inside of me led me straight to all of you. Just know that you're all the ones who started all of this. I will end it!"
And so, an onslaught between Lagertha against the demons began as the full moon hovered above all of them. One demon believed he was lucky enough to decapitate the Wolf Queen and take her head as a trophy. But Lagertha's reflexes proved very useful to her as she fought back against them. The time came for them all to take head and be warned about how quick the dark hunter is with her blade. Lagertha uses her longsword and slices of both the demon's arms and head, and she made them fall onto the other creatures as they saw their ally be slaughtered.
She then walks up to the other demons and waits for them to give it their best shot against her. None of them ever saw a person be so fast with a weapon before, but they all seemed to have been led by lies. They thought they could take just one human and be done with the onslaught, but Lagertha was far different from any human. However, one of the night creatures raises its ax and runs at her to slice her in half. He believed all he needed to do was just make her sword fly away and give him the perfect chance to deliver the final blow.
But even his methods and beliefs would not save him from how powerful and fast Lagertha was at fighting with the sword. Then, Lagertha takes her longsword and cleaves that demon open before even more starts coming at her. Some of them took a step back after watching their friends suffer such gruesome ends, while the rest dashed towards Lagertha no matter what fate they will meet. She strolled to the demons with her sword at her defense and was focused on surviving the night. She walked to them because she no longer feared the night creatures like her younger self used to.
Three of the demons run towards her with their weapons pointed at every part of her body to dismember all of her body parts. Charging at the Wolf Queen meant either courage or suicide because of how easy it was for her to take their lives. She uses her longsword, and she parried and deflected every blow the demons gave her. She then goes to one of them and slices the creature in two; she goes to the remaining two, and she slices off one of their heads and slices off the legs of the last demon. Lagertha steps on the corpse and squeezed the face until it explodes in a puddle of blood.
Like her father, she showed absolutely no mercy from any of the night creatures and would fight them all until the morning comes. At this rate, that will most definitely be what she will do to survive as many nights as possible. Lagertha dashes to them and uses her longsword to put down all the demons and make them taste their blood. She slices them in two, decapitates a few of them, and dismembers a few of their arms and legs. Lagertha kept swinging her sword until no more demons bothered her and tried to put her out of her misery.
She saved one of the demon's lives for last because she believed she had a few questions for the beast to answer. Then, she walks over to the night creature, and she picks him up by the throat and starts holding him up in the air. Lagertha was choking the demon with just one hand and had her other hand hold her longsword. Her blade has already tasted the flesh and blood of thousands of night creatures who stood in her way.
"You're going to talk. You're going to spew out everything you know or I'll make the pain even worse. Where's your leader?" Lagertha asked.
"He's not here. He's at his castle, the castle of Midland. Why is it any of your concern?" The demon asked. Then, she drags the creature to a nearby tree and begins choking him to make him honest about everything.
"I ask the questions. You give the answers! I know you serve two leaders!" Lagertha shouted. She has her sword pointing at the demon's chest and was not afraid to pierce his body if she did not find a suitable answer.
"He... he is here! With his legion looking for you. He knows what you have done and King Mephiles will stop at nothing to hunt you down," the demon said.
"What's his name?" Lagertha asked. The night creature remained silent, but he did not know she had limited time for him to answer her.
A few seconds later, Lagertha uses her longsword and pierces the demon in his stomach. And he had nothing to defend himself with. She watched as the creature's blood and guts started staining the tree, and she left the sword piercing his body.
"WHAT'S HIS NAME?!" She shouted.
"I can't speak his name, it's unlawful to do such a thing," the demon said.
"Talk or I'll make it so much worse! It's your last chance," Lagertha said. She was more serious than ever now that she had the creature pinned to the tree and making him writhe in agony.
Then the demon answered and said, "His name is Malcolm. King Malcolm. The king of Midland ordered him to gather his legion and find the one who has killed tens of thousands of our kind. He will be paid handsomely if your head is on a silver platter. There is no other way out of something like this. I swear that's all I know!"
"I'll make sure your master and your god send their regards. Die, knowing I will kill all who serve the night," she said. Without hesitation, Lagertha uses her longsword and pierces the demon in the chest, and she runs the sword down to his lower body.
She watches as the rest of his blood falls from his lifeless body and makes his blood stain her sword. Lagertha despised all of those who served the night, and she never showed mercy to any of them. She hated pretty much every aspect of those who would go out of their way and torture innocent people. Lagertha puts her longsword back into her scabbard and continues walking inside the forest to survive the night. She knew she needed to fight her father and make him abandon the path he chose in his life.
Lagertha had no choice but to survive every encounter she ever came across because she knew she was not ready yet. Despite having an entire year to prepare herself, she still does not seem prepared to do such a tremendous deed. Lagertha walked on until she could sense another presence waiting to bring her death and make her life tremble. She then has her left hand hold the handle of her longsword and awaits the legion she will soon be facing.
