...so I offered my help.
It was the morning of Valentine's Day. Me and Won had a reservation at a French restaurant at 13:00. I knew that lunch dates weren't so romantic noways, especially because it was Valentine's Day. But I really wanted Won to spend his evening with his actual lover.
Because they were both busy with their new albums, Won and Tadeo didn't get to sped much time together these past months. So I thought a cute evening date with dinner and then at home...will be enjoyed by both of them.
We had our lunch date, and talked about our next step. We went to a lot of interviews together, we spent all our spare time together, Won even wrote a song about me. But the last month we were both really busy. There was a rumour going around that we've broke up.
They couldn't keep their relationship a secret forever, we all knew that. And they were planing to come out as a couple as soon as Believe's popularity would decree. Even then, the drama will be big. Won could lost his place in the band. And he had worked so hard to touch this point...he knew that love was the most important thing in life, but his career as an idol...he couldn't disappoint his fans.
"Well, I think we should get going, oppa." I said as the waiter was taking our empty plates.
"Sure, Ar Eggie." We both smiled and looked at each other, as he gave me that nick name the day we became best friends.
"I didn't knew it was, Mr Bug Yu, day." He giggled. "It's really been a while-"
"Since we've used the nicknames? You know, I figured we could use our real nicknames, not only *with a french accent* "baby","cherie", "belle" et "hon-hon". I don't feel very comfortable telling those to someone rather then..."He stopped. "But, I know it's for the best. I don't want to cause the band any drama. They all worked so hard to become who they are today."
I nod in approval. I can't comfort him at this moment, whatever I would say, would be a lie. I know he is right. And there is nothing to do about it, at the moment, at least.
We walked out the restaurant together. Won offered me a ride home. I told him I have an appointment in an hour and that Robert (my manager) should come and pick me up in 5 minutes. If it was a normal day, Won would have waited for Robert to come, to make sure nothing happens to me. But today was different. He was nervous. He really hoped that everything will go alright.
He is in the drivers sit, looking straight in front. He is trembling head to toe. I open the door and pat him. "It's going to go great. Don't worry about how you look, or what to say. He already loves you for who you are." He smiles at me, and kisses my hand. His mood change all for sudden. He was sacred.
"I love you too, darling" Oh...the paparazzi "I'm sorry for not being able to take you home. Even so, I had a great time with you today."He continued "Je t'aime chérie. À toute à l'heure!" He close the door, sign goodbye and start driving.
In a few minutes, Robert was in front of the restaurant. He said that the appointment was cancelled, due to some issues he was not informed about. So he was taking me home.
"So, how was your date?" He is smiling more than usual now. He is, in general, a really nice and sunny person.
"Great." I respond immediately "Fantastic, actually."
"Oh, it's great to hear such wonderful news, mademoiselle." He smiled again, and looked me in the eyes. We drove 5 minutes in silence. It was Robert who broke the silence "Mind if I turn on the radio? The news are about to start." I nod. There was no way I could stop this ma from being so polite. He has been my manager for the past 4 years, and he never changed his behaviour.
Radio:"...on Yu was seen with his girlfriend, today, at L'Arpège. This was the first time in a month they've been spotted together. I guess the rumours of their relationship was wrong afte-" Roberto stopped the radio for sudden.
"I just remembered, I want to ask you if it's fine by you if you'd hire a new manager, mademoiselle ." His tone was serious, but he was smiling.
"I- do you not like your job, Robert? Do you want to quit being my manager?" I was in shock. Of course, it was his choice to stay or not. But it was hard to find managers as good and kind as him.
"Mademoiselle..no way! I love my job! I just... lately it has been pretty hard to do all the stuff. I thought another manager would be nice for me, and for your image. You see, I can't attend all the galas and interviews with you and spend time with my family at the same time. I'm sorry if the request sounds selfish." We stood in silence until we stoped at a red light. He turns to face me. "I do not wish to beg or make you feel like I don't enjoy being your manager. But please, consider the idea, mademoiselle."
He left me at the front gate. I told him goodbye as he drove off. I opened the door and greeted Tadashi (my cook). I told Tadashi could go home or stay in his room for the night. He nodded and went back to the kitchen to clean up.
The thing about Tadashi, he is deaf. He always says that it's sometimes hard cooking and not hearing what's going on. As a kid, people were telling him to give up on cooking, that he ain't going to be a good cook. Even so, he loved what he was doing, so he didn't't care about other people. Now, he is one of the best cooks in Europe. And he is my favourite cook so far. He is also kind and honest. That's why I have a pleasure having him as my friend.
I go up in my room. Going straight to the bookshelf to find my favourite book, "Before us" by Arika-Ate Gyo. This is a romantic novel about a businessman and an obscure writer. They have accidentally met in a park and ever since they've been in love with each other. They had to keep their relationship a secret as his parents won't ever agree on it. They wanted him to marry someone from a rich and important family. And while the writer, Lysandra Perry, wasn't any of those, he still chose her. When his family found him a women to marry, he left his job and went in Japan with his true love. They got married and start their new lives. I really like this story...
"It would be lovely to have a family like that..." With this thought crossing my mind remember what Robert said. Maybe I can let him live this perfect life with his family.
I immediately called him. He, of course, answers in no time.
"Yes, mademoiselle. Is there a problem?"
"I wouldn't really say that..." I smile as I continue, " I thought about it and...Another manager sounds lovely."
"Parfait! I have someone I will like you to meet. He is my wife's sister's child, and he is looking for a job at the moment. Does tomorrow work for you, mademoiselle?" Thinking about it now, I have no plans for tomorrow.
"Yes, it sounds great, thank you."
"Good night, mademoiselle. Rest for tomorrow." I can feel him smiling through the phone.
"Bonne nuit, Robert!" I end the call.
"So tomorrow it will be." I giggled. I lie down in my bed, get comfortable and start receding the novel. It's going to be a long night.
