If it would have been normal dark ones, their mind would not be capable enough to differentiate between the smell of Eva and Zach. But Original was different matter, he could smell three different smell from Eva, Rat and mouse. It was easy to choose between three and one.
In his mind his minions were enough to deal with Zach while he would attack this new preys who dared to enter this forest. Zach ran towards Eva but he was still few minutes late because of constant attack of dark ones left behind.
Rat and mouse were on full alert but when they recieved the message that an original was coming their way they increased their speed in full throttle while carrying Eva. In the wolf clan even touching the other person's mate was worthy of punishment like execution but for her safety and to keep their friend's sanity because if they failed to protect her he would go mad they kept running while carrying her.
Eva wanted to turn around for Zach, though they met just just 4 days back, she could feel that there were feelings for him in her heart which she never felt for anyone. As they were about to cross the barrier a force knocked them back making Eva role a few metres away from them. She felt stinging pain on her cheek and to her horror blood covered her fingers staining them red.
She looked at the dark one in horror because his eyes were fixed on her wound and he was moving towards her while drool fell from his grotesque face. She scrambled behind few steps and looked with horror as both Rat and mouse were much farther away from her to do anything.
She let out a blood curdling scream not for the fear of death but because she could see the faith of fairyland going to the drain. Just than a mass of red fur covered her vision, she was Zach though covered in wounds and panting he growled loudly in aggression towards the Original.
They were so close to the barrier that the clan member waiting for him could see them clearly as he fought with Original. Two people man and woman were seen rushing inside but people suddenly were begging them not to go on their knees. Eva didn't know what was going on but as she looked at Zach as he jumped and slashed at original but it was as if he was made from iron nothing worked on him.
She panicked and started looking around her she could see more dark ones joining the battle making the situation impossible. She felt as if all hopes were lost as more and more wounds started covering the red fox.
With determined expression she pulled the crystal on her neck " sorry, fairy Queen". Muttering she pulled the power stored within her for two thousand years and let the energy rush within her, 1 km radius lit around her as her wings grew in size with golden fairy dust swirled slowly collecting together to give final attack to the Original dark one.
Everyone was blinded, when finally it receded Zach saw Eva falling down from above with blood flowing from her lips dying them red. He turned to his human form catching her mid air, quickly he escaped as all the dark ones were dead except for the Original who was badly injured but still breathing.
The Original was once a human and the ruler of a huge kingdom his name was Drakos seeing them escape he growled " run as far as you can, but this fairy will be mine to take soon enough". But a sword quickly cut the neck of the original before he can do anything life seeped out of him, it was done by Rat as seeing an Original weakened to this state was rare and he didn't want him to bring further danger to his clan.
He too soon finally escaped out with Mouse running with him " Brother you stole my chance to kill an original, next time left his neck for me to work my sword". Laughter rang as finally sunlight welcomed them with open arms.
Zach saw his clan members waiting for him including his mother and father. He gave them a glare and ran inside one of the houses built for the guards who patrolled the borders, shouting behind " call the healer".
He gently placed her on The bed, his hands grasping hers in firm grip, when a woman in white dress entered inside. She was the Omega of their clan and also healer. She was about to touch him, when he stopped her and growled " treat her not me". Disappointed she Touched Eva's forehead as she sent soothing energy inside her. She murmured in low voice " she is unconscious because of exhaustion nothing less, let her rest".
Then she glared at him, though he was so engrossed on looking at Eva's face he ignored her, it made the woman more angry. She gritted her teeth and spoke " what about our engagement Zach, we were supposed to marry after you came out of forest and now you have this woman in your arms, who is smelling like you, who is she".
