CHAPTER 10: THE NEWBIE TESTS
Sarah needed to wake me up or else I would have slept the whole day. Even though I'm in a human form now, I am still a cat as what it says on my status.
I took a bath and dressed up. Sarah even waited for me and dried my hair. She even said that I was like her younger sister. Sarah tied a blue ribbon in my hair, not the entirety of it, just the front part. She clapped as she finished dressing me up.
We don't need any bag packs because in this school, we only learn how to fight the witches and cure their curse. Not like the schools on earth.
When I entered the room, all eyes were on me. The room was completely silent, waiting for the teacher. Hawk, Austin, Catherine, Ruel, Faye, and Mary waved at us.
As expected, Hawk immediately got the girls' interests on him. What a womanizer, he doesn't seem to mind, thought.
The teacher arrived just after us and called both Hawk and I in front.
"I am Havoc-hafu, I'll be looking forward to working with you," Hawk introduced himself in a nice manner. The girls blushed while the boys were annoyed.
"Andromeda," I shortly said. Everyone except Hawk, Faye, and Sarah waited for me to say more, including the teacher, but I remained quiet. The teacher awkwardly told me to sit down.
I wasn't really good dealing with people when I was on Earth, I was just depending on my friends so I'm really nervous right now. Good thing, my face doesn't show any emotion.
"Alright, that's done. I am Diana, I'll be your teacher from now on," The teacher introduced. "I have already told you yesterday that we will be having a joint combat training with class A."
The mood of the classroom turned gloomy. Sarah beside me whispered, "The class 1-A are really cocky, they won over us all the time."
1-A is Priscilla's class, right? I wonder if she's doing fine. Priscilla lacks common sense so I really hope she's okay.
We exited the room and went to an open field. The looks on the class As were really brash. Some girls were looking at Hawk, though.
I didn't like the stares I received, they were like 'OMG! She's cute, I wanna eat her'. No, really. The boys from both 1A and my class 1B were looking at me weirdly.
I subconsciously held the hem of Hawk's uniform and hid myself behind him. He glared at the boys who were looking at me and I guess it helped just a little bit. Good thing Hawk is a really big person so hiding behind him works. My cat instinct tells me I should not be stared at, alright?
"Settle down, for today—" the young teacher hasn't finished talking when one of his student talked.
"Sir, we wanna test the newbies' abilities!"
The others seconded, even from my class. What's up now?
"Quiet! As I was saying, we'll be testing your new classmates' abilities." This dude!
The crowd cheered and looked at us with 'we'll show you what is hell' look like they have already done this before with the past newbies.
"I'll take the pretty boy!" a buff human stood up. Teacher Diana signaled Hawk to stand up. Teacher Diana was clearly enjoying it. So as everyone else.
"Faye will take on the pink haired," Teacher decided. Faye couldn't do anything but obey. She smiles at us apologetically but Hawk assured her it's fine. Priscilla is not fine though, I think.
"Oliver, would you like to face with the little girl?" the other teacher asked.
Oliver is a grumpy-looking but a pretty handsome boy. His expression said 'whatever' and stood up. I also stood up to face him. He looked at me like he was bored.
The first match was the buff man named Warren and Hawk. Hawk won the match. Hahaha. Warren just continuously attacked him with huge magic fire balls but Hawk evaded all of them with his speed. Warren got exhausted so Hawk made his way and pointed a knife on his neck. It was anticlimactic and Warren clearly underestimated his opponent.
The second match was Priscilla and Faye. Just right after the match started, Faye charged at Priscilla with a high speed. Faye immediately won. Priscilla is weak so it's not shocking. Everyone including me was disappointed.
The crowd were disappointed but also gained themselves when we stepped in. Oliver is one of the strongest among them so the class A had faith in him.
Oliver charged towards me with speed even faster than Faye but sorry to say, I dodged it with my cat instincts. His eyes widened so as the audience's. I didn't really move much away from my position and Oliver was already behind me.
I turned to face him, I saw that he already recovered from his shock. I don't know how to fight without using my eyes or antenna so I couldn't attack him. Hawk warned me not to use my eye abilities before the battle started and he was right. But how could I ever win?
Oliver summoned his sword and walked slowly at me. He was even surprised that I didn't do anything. His eyes were full of confusion and he was really cautious because he cannot read my motive.
I used my skill [Greed LV1
I walked close to the motionless Oliver and thrusted the sword on the ground just right where he was standing and walked out of the center.
All of the people around us were silent and just watched me walk while holding their breath.
I didn't do anything flashy, thought. The fight ended easily, I just dodged Oliver's attack, stole his sword then returned it to him just a moment after.
The newbie tests were very unsatisfying.
