CHAPTER 11: OLIVER IS TOO PURE
After our "initiation", we went back to our classroom. When we got back, our classmates started to interact with us— me and Hawk. They complimented us for being strong enough to win against the top students of 1-A.
The class resumed just like normal classes. We discussed about witches and their danger. I've also found out that the veterans are currently fighting against them while we're studying here.
Witches are really dangerous since they are abundant in mana like fairies, live longer like elves, can learn fighting skills like humans, and can cause great harm like the demons from the mythology.
Sometimes, witches blend in with humans. The only time one can distinguish witches from humans is when they use their magic.
After we finish studying and pass all of our exams, we will be sent to the forces immediately, unless we choose to live like normal citizens. That's why power is really important.
When the class was done, Sarah and I walked together back to the dorm. While we were on our way, Oliver stopped us.
"Hey, how did you do that?"
Did what? I don't know what he's talking about, ignore him.
"I'm talking to you. How did you summon my sword?" Summon? Dude I stole it. His eyes were confused but not mad. Instead of anger, I saw amazement.
"Andromeda's power is charm. It's no surprise that she won against you in a questionable way. Maybe you were affected that's why you gave her your sword intentionally and purposely missed her," Sarah explained in a rude tone. Her understanding is harsh but it's better that way. At least Oliver gets an idea, even though it's not true.
"Really? That must've been the case, nobody ever dodged my attack with that speed and it's impossible for her to summon my sword." Oh? So you believed her. You're too easy.
"Let's train together sometime, Andromeda." Oliver walked away and we continued our walk.
"That Oliver guy is such a sore loser. Can't he just accept the fact that he lost?" Sarah complained. I don't think that's what he was thinking, Sarah. Oliver is so genuine that I couldn't sense any dishonesty in him.
"He seems like a nice guy," I answered. I couldn't sense any malicious intent around Oliver. I sensed a high motivation and strong spirit, thought.
"Really now? You should be careful around class 1-As, they are rude and high. They bully the weaker ones. Even class 2-A and 3-A are like that, you should be careful," Sarah warned me.
Class 2 and 3 are older and stronger than class 1 because they've been here longer. Although there are students who entered this school at the same time as the 1st years but were sent to higher classes. The class you belong to is decided through assessment and by age.
I've never really encountered any higher ups because they are probably too busy and the school is too big. There are times I hear loud explosions from their training grounds and I can tell that they really are more skilled than us.
Sarah and I took a bath, as usual, she dried my hair. We went together to the Dining hall to have a dinner. The Dining Hall is divided into three different areas, one for each level. The classes 1-A and 1-B eat together, same goes through the higher levels.
As usual, there are many different foods on the table. The school is very rich since most of the students here are nobilities. Even Sarah mentioned about her family once, she's the eldest child of the Franco households, owner of a hotel chain.
If you're wondering if I am considered an important person or not, I'll tell you, yes. We— I, Hawk, and Priscilla— are considered as Rosh's friends and relatives. Rosh was the King of the elves that were annihilated by the evil witches. He is also one of the most powerful ally of humans since elves' magic power are greater than humans and they also have strong light magic affinity. That's also the reason why I am not being bullied.
Bullying here is very common. Most of the victims are the non-humans. As of now, nobody knows that I am not a human. Hawk isn't receiving any kind of nasty treatment, thought. In fact, Hawk is admired by many, mostly girls. And after his fight against Warren from class 1-A, the boys were eager to make friends with him.
Our classmates also tried to befriend me but I sensed a lot of negativity in them so I rejected. Sarah on my side also helped lessen their approach.
"Andromeda, can you eat squid?" Hawk, sitting on my side, asked.
"I don't know," I answered honestly. I am actually not eating so much food because of the effects of my [Gluttony] skill. Even if I did not defeat the enemy, I still get the energy on them that adds up on my status.
I honestly am terrified of my evolved skills because they are too powerful, good thing they level up very slowly. I told Hawk a little bit about my skills so he assists me and often reminds me not to accidentally use my abilities because I honestly cannot control them fully yet.
Priscilla, together with Oliver, moved from their table to ours. I don't know how they became friends but that's also a good thing because Oliver is nice and strong enough to protect Priscilla.
"Andromeda, you can't eat too much," Priscilla said.
"Don't worry, I monitor her food intake," Hawk assured her.
"Please do, Hawk and Sarah. Andromeda cannot control her diet and eats whatever she likes," Priscilla said. Everyone who heard looked at us like we're strange.
"Uhm... Why are you treating Andromeda like... that?" Oliver asked with a creased forehead.
"Because Andromeda is—" Priscilla was about to tell everyone I'm her pet but Hawk continued her sentence.
"Andromeda is a kid as you can see and master Rosh assigned us to take care of her," Hawk explained. Thank you, Hawk.
"I see, so Andromeda is really young that's why I always have the feeling of wanting to take care of her," Sarah answered. I'm pretty sure that's because I literally am a pet that's why you have that feeling.
"So that's why." Oliver believed again. He's too pure for this world. Someone, please protect him. T^T
