Chapter 52 - PASSION ALWAYS LEADS TO POSITIVE RESULTS 2

Xiu Zhen Fang consists of four chapters, records approximately three hundred types of medicinal plants - many of which are the results of the Team of Wellbeing's research and it was never recorded by any other books before, or we can say, those are their own original findings. Written by Li Heng as the lead author and other Team of Wellbeing members as the contributors, the book was dedicated to Zhu Su. "Xiu", means pocket in Chinese; "Zhen", means Precious; and "Fang", means Prescriptions. Xiu Zhen Fang literally means the Precious Prescriptions inside Pocket. As the title shows, Xiu Zhen Fang is designed as a small book - so small it can be put in a bag - which contains simple but effective prescriptions to treat illnesses. The language being used is very simple and easy to understand, even the commoners who have no knowledge of medical science can easily apprehend it. This is in accordance with Zhu Su's health educational vision. To educate people so that they could prevent and treat simple diseases by their owns, this way they would not be troubled even if their area was lack of skilled medical personnels. Zhu Su had discovered, the main problem why so many people got sick and died in Yunnan was the lack of knowledge about health and sanitation. Yunnan people endured lots of sufferings due to the war of dynastic change. To merely maintain their lives were very difficult for them, let alone learn about the matters of healthcare, sanitation, and other things. But as the result, there were so many casualties here. That was indeed the root problem Zhu Su wanted to diminish by publicizing Xiu Zhen Fang.

Previously Zhu Su had ever gathered scholars to compile a book of medicine similar to Xiu Zhen Fang, named Baosheng Yülu, it consisted of two chapters. But unfortunately, this book had disappeared from historical records.

Once it finished, Zhu Su immediately reported this news to the emperor. Very pleased with his son's achievement, the Hongwu Emperor then ordered to distribute Xiu Zhen Fang all over China. Because it was not only Yunnan that needed health education, the whole region was apparently in the same condition. Xiu Zhen Fang was even very useful for commoners. It was the people from the middle-lower class who got enthusiastic in welcoming it. Although in the end, Xiu Zhen Fang became an uproar in medical community. Almost all physicians, especially those who were in charge of serve nobles and royals, came specially to Yunnan to meet Zhu Su and his team.

"What is that crowd about?" Wu Qi squinted as he saw a surge of people coming to their place. There had been quite a lot of enthusiastic people visiting them from the first time they published Xiu Zhen Fang, but still, it was not as crowd as this. Even more, that entourage appeared majestic - nobleman style. Lots of palanquins were marching over, dozens of servants and eunuchs were lining up, and the horses were carrying large crates on their backs.

"They must be coming to congratulate His Highness on compiling Xiu Zhen Fang!" said Hu Nayin eagerly. She went inwards and called Zhu Su. "Your Highness, a large group of people has come here. They surely want to meet with you!"

"Really? Xiu Zhen Fang must have attracted them!" Zhu Su replied. He hurriedly went out of the room.

The entourage was really populous. Dozens of royal physicians came in unison. And not only physicians - the nobles themselves also came to see Zhu Su.

"Brother Di!" Zhu Su shouted in disbelief as he saw the arrival of Zhu Di.

"Su! Long time no see! How are you? I heard you have completed a medical book? Great! We all are very proud of you!" said Zhu Di while patting his brother on the shoulder.

"Thank you, Brother. But I'm not the author. This is all the work of Li Heng, as well as the contribution from the Team of Wellbeing," said Zhu Su modestly.

"But you are the creator who gives the idea to write this book. Li Heng can write it because the idea comes from you as the creator. You're still the best!"

When I was exiled, no one cared about me. But when I am triumphant, the whole world come to congratulate me. Ah... is this the irony of human life?

Not only Zhu Di, Zhu Su's other siblings also came to see him. For example, Zhu Quan, his paternal half younger brother who was only eleven years old, also came here.

"Hi, Quan! Nice to see you!" Zhu Su greeted the younger brother kindly. While Zhu Quan, after paying his respects, now were looked closely at Zhu Su.

"Brother Su, your book is really brilliant. I can have the understanding as soon as I read it for the first time!" Zhu Quan said cheerfully.

"Haha, you're a smart kid, it is like shooting fish in a barrel for you!"

"I also like medicine very much. Especially herbs. I want to research plants as Brother Su does!"

Zhu Quan sounded very solemn with his words, Zhu Su, and every one who by chance heard him smiled broadly.

"Very good, Quan! I support you! Doing medical project is a very noble thing to do!" Zhu Su encouraged him.

"But it takes a long time to become an excellent medical expert. You will need a lot of perseverance to achieve that," Zhu Di joined in.

"I will have that strong perseverance!" Zhu Quan's eyes gleamed with seriousness. All of them laughed.

Meanwhile, the group of physicians preferred to surround Li Heng, eager to have a discussion with him.

"Well done, Physician Li! What a great masterpiece!" Physician Qing congratulated Li Heng.

"It definitely requires hard work and extraordinary perseverance to accomplish this work," Physician Chen chimed in.

Li Heng responded to all of them with a big smile. "Don't praise too much. It's not that great!"

"Ah... you just humble... in fact, you have surpassed us!" Physician Qing said again.

"Yes, Physician Li indeed has surpassed all of us... big lucky star is surrounding him, as His Highness can trust him to work on this big project!"

The one who just spoke up was Physician Wang, one of the imperial physicians in Yingtian Palace.

Although sounded praising, but Li Heng was able to get the true meaning of Physician Wang's praise who was actually rather degrading him.
