As soon as they arrived at the emperor's bedchamber, Zhu Su immediately approached his father, supported him into a half-seated position. Wu Qi and Hu Nayin helped him. "Fu Huang, the antidote for you has been done... please drink it slowly... and after this, you will get well!"
Zhu Su took Liu Ku's concoction and gave it to the emperor.
Nothing happened.
"Fu Huang..." Still supporting the emperor, Zhu Su asked. "Fu Huang, are you alright?"
Suddenly the emperor coughed, more and more severe. Then he spitted out black fluids in large quantities. A second later, he collapsed onto the bed.
"Fu Huang!" Zhu Su screamed in panic. So did Li Heng, and everyone in this room. Li Heng quickly took the emperor's pulse, his face turned to be pale purplish.
"His Majesty's pulse... doesn't exist..." His voice choked.
Zhu Su rushed towards Liu Ku. He gripped the young man's shoulder, so hard it made him grimace in pain. "You said, you are able to cure Fu Huang, but what happens now?! Now he's dead!" Zhu Su shouted very loudly like an insane one. "What is your responsibility for this? You must do something!"
What Liu Ku could only do was bowing his head, without saying even a word.
Wu Qi unsheathed his sword. "You said, we may kill you if you fail to do your job?! Now, keep your promise!"
He ran forward, pointing his sword right to Liu Ku's neck.
"I have told you that it is a high-risk medication!" Liu Ku screamed frustratingly. "I have said that the possibility of the Emperor's recovery is only fifty percent! And now you want to kill me?! It's you who can't be trusted!" He avoided Wu Qi's attack, and now yelled angrily at Zhu Su. "Your Highness! I think you are better than Xie Wang, but in fact, you are worse than him. You just want to get the good one but you don't want to endure the worst! Now you want to kill me! My biggest regret is to work for someone disobliging like you!"
So strange, unlike his other words, this time Liu Ku's scream made completely no effect on Zhu Su's mind. He did not get sensitive with it, or offended, or confused or whatever anymore. His mind was deadlocked. He was so frustrated. He trusted Liu Ku so much that he was willing to risk his life by entering Xie Wang's headquarters... just to commit this foolishness, letting his father die even faster by drinking deadly poison due to his blind faith in someone he did not even recognize!
How stupid of him!
He felt so guilty! His father died, it was because of him!
Because of his foolishness!
Payloth, Rui, and Han Zhong held Liu Ku tightly, prevented the young man from escaping. Wu Qi raised his sword high, Liu Ku screamed like crazy and cursed all of them, and Zhu Su did not try to stop that. He just watched them in silence, mind totally went blank.
"Your Highness, please wait a moment!"
Hu Nayin managed to stop Wu Qi just as the sword point was only a few inches from Liu Ku's neck.
"His Majesty... moves a little," Hu Nayin pointed at the emperor.
"Really, Nayin?" Zhu Su soon turned behind. The others also gazed closely at the emperor.
That was true. Although just a little, but they could see the emperor's fingers were moving.
Zhu Su approached the bed. The emperor's movements became clearer, right now he even began to lift his body. He thus looked up, and slowly, turned his gaze at Zhu Su.
"Fu Huang... you're back?" Slowly, Zhu Su asked.
The emperor nodded. "Yes," He answered, his voice was low, but sounded firm, full of vitality. "I feel very well."
Hearing the emperor's statement, Wu Qi re-sheathed his sword. Payloth, Rui, and Han Zhong also released their grips on Liu Ku. The young Fangshi quickly moved away, his full-of-cold-sweat hands kept on holding his neck, as if he was afraid that it might be broken at any time. Zhu Su himself, his blank face changed to normal, and his eyes filled with a sparkle of great relief.
"Thank Heaven... for saving Fu Huang... really, really thank You..." He murmured, voice was full of excitement. "I'm just worried that Fu Huang will go forever... Thank Heaven..."
The emperor nodded, the pale color on his face began to fade, replaced by a broad smile full of happiness.
