Jamal was tearing into the provided bacon, as the group continued to talk around him. The food was quite delicious compared to what he had eaten on prior days, but that wasn't a primary concern at the moment. It really was the events that had only occurred mere moments ago.
"So, when did you get your memory back?" he could hear Leon ask Ula.
"Last night, I'm sure of it." Ula nodded, as she helped feed the awakened Laken.
Staring at them, Jamal continued to eat the remaining bits of his breakfast in silence, before wiping his hands onto a napkin. The unlikely possibility that he could even get back with Ula and reunite with his family was almost a shock at how it went. He had to believe that there was something else that he needed; that there was something else he was missing in this whole equation, yet there was nothing that came to thought.
"Jamal, you doing alright there? Just because we barged into here with what you two were doing doesn't really change anything?" Jamal peered to see Heskins ensure him.
"Of course, of course. It's all good. I'm great." Jamal faked a smile in their direction, as he got up from the chair. "We probably should be on our way shortly, and continue what we need to do."
Most of the group nodded, except Brat and Fonda, who enjoyed the food and didn't wish to leave the quaint town so quickly. Stretching in agreement, Heskins walked towards the front and began to prepare the carr. Everyone handed Jamal their trash, and he took it quietly. Once he had everything, he opened the side door and started burning the garbage away. He watched the flames flick around his hand and over the filth, its aura sparking something deep inside of him. It was almost twisted and vile, yet it was so much potential in it. Jamal continued to stare into the flames, as the fire began to spin more rapidly and darkened with power.
"Jamal, are you okay?" he heard a voice spook him, causing the flames to dissipate.
Turning around, Jamal saw Ula holding his arm and a face with concern. He didn't want her to be in that state at all, as he composed himself there.
"I'm good, trust me. Everything's going to go in our favor." He provided a more genuine smile, as he kissed her forehead. "Looks like we can get on with his journey again. Heskins, let's go!"
As he lead Ula back into the seats, Heskins simply nodded and cranked up the engine. The carr shuttered initially with power, before beginning to roar with power, and started to accelerate. The trip to start the monstrosity of this campaign was only continuing.
