Jamal shuddered to attention, as the carr came to a complete stop. Looking outside the window, he could see the forest thicken around them, although they were somewhat in a clearing, with log cabins and houses throughout the woods. He thought they were getting closer to the capital, not further away, from the look of things, as he pulled himself up.
"We're only an hour away from the capital. We just got to make a temporary stop for fuel, and I'm looking towards to catching up to any news. Should only take an hour or two." Alice said, parking the carr, while attempting to open the door.
"I'll come with you." Hops eagerly announced, as slid the carr door open for her.
"Well, thanks." She blushed eagerly, as she set foot outside, and observing her surroundings. "We'll just find out what happened since we left the capital."
Jamal watched as Hops finally left the vehicle, before turning back to him, and nodding at him one last time. Good luck to that, he smiled, as Hops continued next to Alice's side.
"Now what?" Fonda asked in boredom, stretching her arms out.
"You tell me." Brat said with a shrug.
"Regardless, we'll likely be here for awhile, so let's make it count." Jamal stood up, tensing his muscles. "Although it likely wouldn't be too safe for me, to be honest."
"What are you suggesting Jamal?" Leon broke his silence.
"Considering the new strengths you guys developed in a short amount of time, it's only fair I have a rematch, without dying of course." Jamal stated.
"And that'll be a no. That's just dumb, with you being wanted and all." Leon yawned with boredom, before laying back into his seat, "We might as well relax in here."
Most of them grunted in approval, except for Jamal who stared outside antsy do do something worthy. He knew himself that he couldn't be in this vehicle for another second.
"Okay, well I'll be back here myself. Stay here if you want." Jamal leaped through the vehicle, as he slid the door open.
No one even bothered to stop him, as he finally placed his feet onto the ground, and took a solid look around. Whatever village or town he was at, was extremely quiet, and little traffic could be seen. The carr was off the main road, to which looked like it could barely fit two carrs across, as Jamal began making his towards a local store. Feeling his pants pockets in his new outfit, he recalled that he didn't have any cash, especially that any other currency wouldn't be accepted here. Now fuming, he exhaled a thin trail of steam, before he moved pass the store, glancing inside to see a galore of food that he could have had himself.
Continuing onward, he deduced a small, but he supposed for this town to be large, crowd building up around a corner of a building. Approaching closer, he could here the muffling of a voice, and as low as the quality was, he could make out much of the words.
"Mrs. Neikoya, it's now your turn to si- th-, agreement, and finalize it." an accented voice spoke through.
"I suppose I could, unless I cha-, mind and refute my decision." a woman spoke with a little charm.
"Just end the stalling." Jamal could make out Youden's voice.
He shuttered at the man's voice, before stepping back in worry. Was he here in front of them? That would be impossible, wouldn't it?
"Turn the radio louder!" someone from the crowd cried out, reliving him.
"It's on maximum volume." another person shouted.
Jamal finally gotten into the crowd, and noted the large machine crackling each second, with muffling coming through it. At least Youden wasn't nearby, but where was he then? He had to still be in Youdenia, and he couldn't have went anywhere else.
"We are wai-, for you to sign the treaty, and mov-, with the conference." a more clearer but muffled voice spoke through. "Fuishem doesn't want a conflict, and neither do we clearly."
Walking past the crowd, he marched onward, seeing a better paved road with more carrs traveling through. It wasn't a large road, so he assumed it was a local highway. At least they weren't far off, but it would be irrelevant and pointless to go to the capital now. Unless, they took advantage and recused Ula and Laken now, while they still could.
With a new insight in the situation, he turned around and started rushing back towards the carr, as he wanted to use his powers so bad, but also not trying to die after being so close. At least now fully healed, Jamal was going to save what he couldn't in Suruthem, his family back in his homeland, and not being sympathetic any longer.
