Chapter 178 - The Battle Against Friend & Foe: Part Three

Jamal launched himself across the entire crater in a matter of seconds, as he landed the first punch across Leon's face, not even touching the ground. It was so powerful, that Leon's aura instantly disappeared, however, Leon's face only turned slightly. In retaliation, Leon uppercutted him, forcing Jamal to gasp in shock, as he was shot thousands of feet into the sky.

Regaining control, Jamal forced himself back down towards the sky, watching Leon leap towards his way. He recalled how much slower Leon was using a portion of his power, but in this state, he seemed unfazed by any margins. Jamal pulled his leg back, as he grabbed one of Leon's attempted punches, and landing a kick. Leon had seemed unfazed again, as Jamal began using more kicks in retaliation, while in mid-air. The rapid attacks, brought back even more wind onto the ground, as despite being hundreds of feet in the air, the Eluyim Hexan had to dodge the cracks and flames being onslaught onto them.

Leon roared in aggression, as he finally grabbed one of Jamal's legs before dragging him down.

"I can finally land this attack." Leon exclaimed, as all of his aura disappeared, with Jamal attempting to twist around to avoid the attack.

Jamal could do nothing, as all the aura Leon built up came out through his arms, pressurizing the air around him. Leon roared with power, as he slammed his fist through Jamal's face, causing him to spew blood through his mouth. For a second, it was as if everything had slowed down, before Jamal instantly crashed through the air, creating a trail of destruction across the field and through the woods. He traveled across the land for several miles, before crashing into a small rocky outcrop. Jamal could only stay still, as he struggled to feel the surge of power that he called for previously, and stuck in between the rocks. If he didn't get out of this situation quick, it would all be over.

Feeling a gust of wind, Jamal looked up to see Leon above him, although no longer smiling. He could feel the man hold his head up like a prize, before slamming his fist across his face. Jamal attempted to block the next punch, but Leon snapped his arm to his side, causing him to howl in pain, before another punch landed. Jamal could not do anything, as Leon began his ruthless barrage of punches, each one causing him to force more blood across his entire face.

After several more attacks, Leon stepped back, to look at the bloody pulp that Jamal was. He watched as Jamal finally forced himself out of the outcrop, barely able to place his feet onto the ground. Leon stared, as Jamal huffed in pain, with his eyes returning to a dark blue. Before even giving him another chance, Leon let his aura swirl around his leg, before kicking his chest. The attack forced Jamal to burst through the entire outcrop, breaking it in half. Gasping, as he fell over a cliff and onto a stream shore, Jamal could hear Leon thud next to him.

Crawling to his side, he stared at the large man, who grabbed his face high in air. Clawing at his hands, Jamal attempted to burn the man, but it was to no avail. Leon looked at the stream next to him, before finding the saddest way for a man to go.

"Dying to your weakness." Leon grinned, as he shoved him to his knees and to force Jamal to look at his reflection, "What a better way to end."

Jamal didn't respond, as he quickly took a deep breath, before Leon shoved his head underwater. Forcing his eyes open, he squirmed around trying to do anything in his power, with Leon holding tighter, not letting go. Jamal was in so much pain, and yet it was as if there was nothing he felt.

As he forcefully exhaled once his lungs were burning without oxygen, he felt brief relief, before water began to replace it. Leon watched, as the man started to gurgle bubbles, mixing with the blood still leaking. What pleasure did he have, as he could feel Jamal weaken by the second. Pulling his head barely above the water, Leon watched as Jamal threw up blood and water, whizzing in pain, as steam rose above his back.

"Jamal." Leon asked, "How do you feel right now?"

Jamal didn't even answer him, as he continued to stare at the water waiting for more suffering. His vision was fading in and out, and Jamal could barely stay conscious. He just had no options left, and in his final moments, Jamal was going to wait for death itself. Before doing so, he at least should ask Leon one last question.

"Leon-, re-remember the tournament." Jamal muttered, "And the fight we had."

Leon was confused at those words, not recalling that particular event at all, pulling his head back a bit further.

"Huh?"

"When we clashed together, it pushed us further than we ever had went. I mean, we almost destroyed the stadium for crying out loud." Jamal almost began to smile in memory, the last of the water emptying out of him. "We literally fought like how we are right now, to the death. Each attack we brought among each other was critical, and the final moments..."

Jamal could hear a gasp, as he felt Leon's grip weaken. If he wasn't in his current state, he could've pulled free, and fought the man off, but it appeared that it wouldn't be necessary.

"I understand that whatever Youden did to you, you're likely going to kill me regardless, so I'll thank you for the opportunity for providing me the fight I would gladly die for. Thank you for forcing me to go all out over the years, it was the experience."

Jamal felt the man's grip go completely slack as he quickly freed himself. Landing back onto the stream's shore, he turned around in a bit of surprise. It didn't occur to check Leon's condition, but it was exactly something unpleasing to the eye.

His entire body was extremely darkened, and parts where he extensively pushed himself were deeply disfigured and even darker than the rest. Jamal watched as Leon began to breathe deeply, before looking around anxiously. Jamal tested himself out, and even he knew that he had no more energy left for a fight, and likely had bruises or even fractures throughout.

"Where am I? What am I?" Leon began to ask around, until he made contact with Jamal, "Is that you, Jamal?"

"Okay, this'll be a great story." Jamal noted with sarcasm, as Leon crouched down in severe pain.

"Jamal. Jamal, I'm sorry. Please forgive me." Leon begged of him, to which Jamal continued to stare him down. "Just help me, please!"

"We can get to apologies later," Jamal began to quickly state, while noticing the amount of time that's passed during their encounter. "It appears that Youden had controlled the rest of you guys, and I think I have a plan to get everyone back. And-, And fix everything in the process."

"Um, rest of us?" Leon said.

"I'll assume your memories really foggy right now. If you follow my lead, not only we'll get to where we need to be, you should hopefully be fine." Jamal figured out, "Just do as I say."

.....

Only twenty minutes later, did the two men hear rustling above to see the last of the Eluyim Hexan reach the edge of the cliff.

"Leon!" Hops cried out, with half of his face bandaged.

"I finished him." the man responded, holding the limp body that was Jamal.

"Great, looks like we can go back, at last. It was not supposed to be this hard." Alice grumbled.

As Leon walked towards them, Jamal barely opened his eyes to see the group, before closing it again. The dumbest plan to even ever be attempted was about to go down, and at the forefront was Jamal Wrint about to do what Jamal Wrint did best. Get himself into situations that most people couldn't or shouldn't even bother involving themselves in. With this plan to free everyone from Youden's grasp, would only just be the imperfect start to that.
