Chapter 176 - The Battle Against Friend & Foe: Part One

Jamal knew his fireballs would do nothing, as Leon swatted them away with ease. Something was off about them, especially with the information he told him. Having a job to do? What job? He needed to acquire more information, but it wouldn't cut it if he kept on fighting.

"Who are you working for?" Jamal questioned Leon, as he crouched down to dodge another kick from Leon.

"Youden." A female voice rang through his head, although one he hadn't recognized in a while.

"Wait?" Jamal stopped moving, causing him to get punched back into the ground, heaving for air.

"He's weakened! Everyone begin the formation!" Leon cried out, as he placed his foot on top of Jamal's chest.

Jamal tried to force it off of him, but Leon was much heavier than him, and he was running out of options and fast. He knew he had to stop holding off his power for his former friends, or likely die.

Leon continued to grin at the fallen man, until he noted that his shoe started smoking. In a bit of confusion, he eased the pressure of Jamal's chest, allowing for Jamal to kick off him. Surprised, Leon looked above, to see Jamal's body completely covered by a red fire. So this was it, Leon cracked his neck with joy.

"Whoa. I didn't think you would be as weak as I thought. I'm glad I was proven wrong." Leon replied in honesty, noting a group of people finally reached his side. "But now, the Eluyim Hexan can purge this world of this cancer."

Jamal just stared at all of the members, before realizing who they were. Hops, Brat, no way, he saw to his left, sliding back a bit. To the right of Leon was Alice, Heskins, and Fonda. But Ula was nowhere near them. Could this mean one thing?

"Where's Ula and Laken?" Jamal spoke up after observing everything.

"You mean the other member of the Eluyim Hexan, and Youden's younger brother?" Heskins noted. "It's interesting that you know of them, considering that they've never heard of you."

"My family." Jamal began to tremble, "What did Youden do to you guys?"

"Youden never hurt us Jamal, except what you've done." Brat spoke up as well, turning his skin to fur. "They are of no concern of yours."

"No, this can't be right. Can it?" Jamal waned his fire in shock, his former friends already working with Youden.

"It is right." the female voice spoke again, causing Jamal to collapse on the ground in temporary fear. "Now expect a quick death."

"Kill him now!" Leon cried out, getting Jamal out of his confused state.

He quickly got back up, before Hops kicked his side, bruising his ribs. Hissing in pain, Jamal fired multiple fireballs towards him, before feeling severe pain on his backside. Turning around, he saw Brat wiping blood off his extended claws, before attempting to pounce on top of him.

Jamal managed to kick off Brat when he was almost on top of him, until he turned around to see Alice finishing up an incantation. Not hesitating, he began rushing towards her, when Heskins appeared in front of him. Knowing he was the weakest out of all of them, Jamal shoved him to the side, before tackling Alice. The shocked woman finally spat out the last of the strange tongue she was speaking, as the book finished glowing. Jamal felt the intense heat of the energy being condensed, before it was shot into the sky. That seemed like a waste, he grinned, before he realized that Alice pulled out a dagger, and sliced his cheek open.

Howling in pain, he punched her in the face, causing her to spit blood into his. Getting up, before kicking her to the side, Jamal couldn't even turn around in time before Leon grabbed him tightly, with no space to work with. Even his fire didn't seem to affect Leon, as the man's skin began to smoke. Jamal felt his airways slowly getting compressed as the giant applied more pressure to them.

"Leon, throw him towards the sky!" Jamal heard Alice cry out.

Realizing what was about to happen, he attempted to kick off Leon, but was headbutted in retaliation. Seeing spots of black, Jamal exited his state, as he was tossed straight up. He could see the shield disappear, as the sky began to glow a bright yellow. Instantly, the light from the book shot back down onto him, searing his skin into intense pain. He began to convulse in agony, as he tried to propel himself out of the trap, but he was severely weakened to do anything.

The attack lasted several more moments, as the rest of the Eluyim Hexan watched with great interest. His death was happening in front of their eyes. The attack had finally ended, as Jamal began to fall back down towards the ground. They didn't even bother to fight him on his way down, as the body collapsed right in front of them. Hops just crouched down in front of him, as the man attempted to get back up, after everything he went through.

"You're still trying to get up after all that?" Hops asked, as Jamal forced himself up, blood covering his entire body.

"Hops." Jamal muttered, "I forgive you."

Hops stared back in disgust. This man confused him as something else, something beneath him. Jamal just looked him in the eyes, heaving for breath, as he clutched his side. Without hesitation, Hops roundhouse kicked him in the face, causing Jamal to stagger back, but still standing. Looking at the slumped body, Hops backed away. It was time to end this.

"Leon." Hops replied back, to which he nodded.

"It was an honor to fight you Jamal, but I'm afraid this battle is over." Leon stated, as he pulled his arm back. "Good riddance. Times one-thousand."

Jamal didn't even stare, as he felt the aura sway around the area, and the other Eluyim Hexan backed away from such a powerful move.

"Before I die." Jamal forced out, "Tell Ula I'm bringing her back."

"It'll be a long time until she'll ever see you. Now die!" Leon cried out as he launched the punch.

.....

Everyone watched as the punch moved straight towards Jamal's face. This was the moment Youden had been waiting for. Years in the making, and all of it to come down to this. Fonda hadn't said anything yet, as she had felt Jamal's thoughts prior. There was nothing there, just a husk of the threat they once believed him to be. What a lie.

But at that moment, Leon cried out, shocking everyone. Did that attack cause that much pain? Looking, she could see Leon straining himself, as Jamal still stood in place. But staring at Alice, she noted that the woman began to step back in shock.

"It appears that this fight isn't over, Ryan." Brat stated.

"We still got some work to do." Hops said, "Let the real fun begin."

.....

Leon continued to grunt, his arm staying in place, unable to touch Jamal. How was this possible, he questioned, as he felt the man's hand on his fist. A severe burn was heating his skin, but his grip was too strong for him to retract. All Leon could see was the man's eyes glowing a dark blue. The underestimation was going to cost them, just like how it cost Youden.

"Leon, how many times do you have to do this to me?" Jamal calmly replied.

Leon couldn't even provide a response, as Jamal pulled his arm towards him, before kneeing his chin. The force caused Leon to accelerate up into the sky hundreds of feet, with Jamal soaring above him. Staying conscious, Leon could see the man's body getting surrounded by a blue vortex of fire, and extreme heat with it.

"You wanted games, well let the games begin!" Jamal cried out, as he appeared in front of the elevated man, before punching him with acute might, and back into the earth below.
