Youden eyed the remaining Keepers in the office, noting that two of them were not present. He knew that at least one of them was dead, apparently by Jamal, but the other had "disappeared", which he questioned. Likely a lie, but he had bigger problems to deal with.
"As you all now know, Jamal has returned back to Suruthum, and not back in Yodenia. It's really a shame that you all couldn't do a simple job and even a few of you have died in the process by the looks of it." Youden spoke without concern behind his desk with a pistol placed right next to him, "I'm very disappointed."
"Sir, we were looki-" one of the Keepers spoke, before a shot rang out in the room.
The Keepers barely flinched at the sound, as they heard the crumple of the body next to him, with Youden sighing. This was a mad man.
"And I just cleaned the carpet too. A pity really, I'm afraid. But as I was saying, I think I'm going to take it from here." Youden announced, "As of now, I'll like you guys to keep watch alongside other soldiers in the capital until I have a use for you. But before you're free, I want this place cleaned up by the time I get back. Get to it."
The Keepers just stood in silence, as Youden got up with the pistol in his hand, as he walked past them, not even looking at the killed member. Did they really just let one of their own die? They were getting numb to this type of work, and they knew it.
"Welp, let's not wait any longer. We got things to do." Kurt told them, as he picked up the dead body, blood still flowing out. "We better start now, before it's too late."
The others could only nod in agreement, as they quickly left the room looking for supplies to clean it up with. They were nothing more than pawns to Youden, and it would only be the start of resentment towards him. At least for Quanini, he already hated him, although he wished he was the one shot and taken out of this misery of a force. But at least for him, it would allow him to get his revenge and only time was going until it came.
