They just stared back at each other in silence, before Laken made a sound.
"Pa!" he cried loudly, as he ran up to hug his legs.
Jamal just stood there in silence, as Ula covered her mouth in surprise, shocked to see him.
"Jamal? No way!" Heskins came from behind.
"I don't know wh-" he tried to say, before Ula instantly hugged him back, starting to cry.
"Hey, it's okay. I'm fine." he was able to say before she kissed him.
They stayed together for what felt like moments, despite the battle raging above. Jamal didn't care, cause at least he was with his family again, and that was all that mattered.
"I thought you, you died." Ula choked out, once she pulled back.
"It was tough getting back, I will say that." he noted, as he rubbed Laken's hair. "And you've been very brave haven't you."
"Pa, we lost everything. Even soldier man!" Laken pouted.
"Don't worry. I can get a better one." he said, as he quickly walked back upstairs to see the action. "Now, what happened here while I was gone? This place is a mess!"
"The man that captured you started this," Heskins said, with Ula gasping again in surprise. "I would think there here for you, or even Ula, Laken, and the others that were with you."
"Well, I'll give them what they want." he grinned, as he felt for his cloak, before realizing he left it back with Beai. It was patchy anyway, he shrugged, as he was about to go out, before Ula grabbed his shoulder.
"You just came back, and now you're leaving us again?" Ula said, tears still coming out.
"Hey, I'm going to make everything right. I'm doing what I should have done." he nodded, before kissing her briefly. "I'm ending this once and for all."
She could only nod, before Laken moved behind her, worried.
"And don't worry about Pa, because I'm taking out the baddies, so no one's going to hurt us again? You can protect Mama for me, until I come back?" Jamal crouched down.
Laken nodded, as Jamal hugged him quickly, before looking back at Heskins.
"Keep watching my family. I'm trusting you again and I mean it." Jamal noted as he walked out what was once the door.
Heskin didn't even bother to say anything, as he led the saddened Ula and surprised Laken back to the basement. I hope he knows what he's doing, Heskin hoped for, as he stared through the hole that what once a window, with Jamal lighting himself with fire, and attempting to finished what needed to be.
