The tunnel was narrow, jagged, and smelled horribly, but Shin was getting used to this. Ever since he left Lily, he'd been walking, crawling and, sometimes, swimming through claustrophobic spaces.
"How did your people ever find your way down here? I keep waiting to come across a monster, and you somehow kept going until you found a liveable space!" Shin said. He'd made similar comments the whole trip, and he was worried the group realized how scared he was.
