Chapter 15 - Alone Is Better Than Torture Together!

Adonis sighed in relief. "That ended up better than I was expecting." He declared. All of us got out. Xavier scanned every part of the ship and concluded, "Easy fixes. Some seat repairs and it looks like the metal outside didn't take damage. Now you can see the strength of my builds! Give me five minutes." He went to work with repairing, Adonis getting out the tools and helping him out.

Oliver and I scouted the area a bit. We were around trees and … well, that's it. It did not look like a forest but there also wasn't much life near the region. Without looking at me, Oliver asked, "Do you think he's dead?" I knew he was talking about Tempest. With a sigh I replied, "He is not. I am sure of it. We were only able to suppress him. He will return." I heard Adonis asking for Xavier's help in climbing the top of the ship to fix the roof. "Give the old man some help, will you?" Adonis called out.

"Can we get out of here before Tempest can arrive?" Oliver enquired though the answer was clear. "I fear not. He is the wind. He can travel to us faster than we can even take off. We need to fight him." I said. It seemed stupid to fight the wind.

I suddenly remembered that Tempest was not going for my friends but me. He could sense me as a Xorain and had made his way to us. King Jalaar was right. I was putting my friends' lives in danger. His words were playing with my mind and I felt dizzy. But I knew one thing. I couldn't let my friends be in trouble due to me. "I have a plan." I said. Oliver waited patiently for me to think once again.

"Tempest is tracking me, not you guys. I am a Xorain. Wherever I am, he'll follow. So it will not be wise for me to go along with you guys." I told him. Oliver sighed and replied, "Are you telling us to separate so that you can die alone?" I nodded, "Yes, that's the plan. And look, I'll not die. Don't worry about me." I assured him, though I feared my death coming nearer myself.

Oliver was still not convinced to leave me alone. "You are the most important person in our team, Blaze. You die and we lose immediately, remember?" He said. I understood that. If I died, the only hope of saving Darknor would be lost. I was supposed to be the only one who could kill the King. But I still didn't believe that out of everyone else, I had the strength to kill him. I gave him a small nod. The last thing I wanted to do was to scare him by narrating my dream. I knew none of them would agree that I was a danger to them. Although that was the bitter truth.

I didn't speak a word about what I had seen. I also didn't speak about the conversation with Phantom in my dream. It was more a threat. Oliver looked at me and scanned my expression. One thing I liked about him was that he knew when someone needed something badly. He could clearly see that I was worried about them. He smiled and said, "Alright. If that's what you want, so be it."

Just then I heard Xavier screaming from a distance, "The ship is fixed." He waved from near the warship which looked better now. We walked to them and discussed our new plan. Neither Xavier nor Adonis seemed happy about leaving me alone. But I assured them that I could make it to the Headquarters.

"Just try not to indulge in any fights, guys. Stay in the Headquarters till I return." I requested. They nodded which relieved me from my tension. Waving one last time, I walked off into the woods.
