One of the wolves charged towards us first. The giants were slower and the other animals didn't bother us.
I had no idea why they had sent only one wolf to take care of us. Was it because they thought we were that weak? Well, looking at the wolf I did feel weak. Just when the animal came very close Mark shot a bullet right down his throat. The wolf fell and I pounced on it, slashing Magnum over his stomach. I yelled and cut off its throat. Yes, censor that scene people.
I turned my attention to the army which made no sign of war. Mark looked at me, bewildered. Then I watched as the man in the armor made his way to us. He walked calmly as if he was in a garden. His face showed no fear towards us and no sympathy towards the dead wolf. He walked up to us and then keeping his hands behind, he spoke, "You two have showed your worth by killing the wolf. My master had informed me that you were arriving today. Both of you shall now proceed without any fear. The army was just to defend the area."
He caught my shoulder calmly and as a friend would, he took me with him. Mark followed. I was really scared if the warrior would betray us and thrust a knife into my stomach. But nothing happened. "I see you are the DELTAs. Preparing for war against the Xorains, aren't you?" He said. His accent was different and it sent shivers down my spine. Mark replied, "Yeah. King Jalaar has awakened. If we cannot stop hi–" The warrior interrupted and said, "The world will be conquered by him, isn't it? But right now, you still have time. Relax for a bit. The war isn't taking place any time soon. Moreover, you have some discussions to do with my master."
"The Red One?" I asked. The warrior almost stopped walking. He commanded, "Don't take my His name in his land. It may lead to your death. Monster here are merciless, looking for opportunities to kill each other. But all fear our king. I hope he would be good to you both and not murder you immediately." The way he said that, I already regretted being a part of this journey. Even Phantom's servants feared to take his name. It was just like Colloseus had said.
The army in front of us made way and we walked through. The monsters glared at us. If given a chance, they would strangle us to death. "Your name?" Mark enquired to which the warrior replied, "Prochiron." The name felt weird. I would never keep such a name. But again, my real name was Zakostroph so…..
We entered the Red One's domain. Darkness filled the air and my thoughts were starting to get filled with negativity. It would be one of the reasons why Darknorians never entered this area. I felt as if we had already lost the fight and that Prochiron was taking us to Phantom to murder us. I knew that the atmosphere was playing with my mind but I couldn't judge it until I actually would meet the Red One. I looked at Mark who also seemed to suffer with the same kinds of thoughts.
Ahead lay a forest. There were trees but no leaves. Some of the trees even made shapes and there were skeletons scattered to make the scene worse. Yes, best place for Halloween. The light was very dim and I couldn't figure out from where it was coming. The clouds were covering the Darknorian moon, Mathrop. The sky looked dark and I was getting sick of all this. The silence also didn't help. The grass below me looked to be dead with the negativity around.
We finally got to the other side which I was grateful about. I looked in front of me to see a whole city of monsters below. We were on top of a hill and right down; I could see the land of creatures. Prochiron explained, "When God Ison fought our master and defeated him, he sent our master right to this spot which made a massive indent on the ground. Later it was decided that the city of monsters would be made right here." I was a shocked. Was this supposed to be a hole because of the Red One falling on the ground? I was trying not to think about how huge he would be. Also, that proved how powerful God Ison is.
As we talked, we made our way down the hill. The path stretched till the bottom and I knew it wouldn't be a long walk. In a few minutes, we reached the end where the entrance of the Red One's domain lay. The humongous gates were already open for us and we walked in. As I entered, I remembered that we were technically entering enemy territory as we worship God Ison and Phantom was against it.
But nothing could be done now. Our fates would be decided right here. Mark's expression wasn't reassuring either. We knew that we would have to enter but now that we had, I barely was ready for what was coming ahead.
"Come on folks. Let's explore this land." Prochiron announced.
