It was a bold statement. I looked confident while telling Phantom about our victory. But I barely knew if we could do it.
As I walked out of the Palace of Mirage, I was relieved. We wandered through the city. Now that Prochiron wasn't around us to defend our arrival, the monsters looked even more agitated to kill us. Some of them even rushed to us but were stopped by the others.
I told Mark to call Oliver and inform him about Cryopter's arrival to them. They needed to be prepared. I already knew that Cryopter wouldn't be an easy fight. Mark tried calling a few times but found no success. From behind us, I heard Prochiron speaking, "Calls will not work in this land. This region is almost a separate part of Darknor. Once you are out of the monster land, you can call your friends."
For once, I was glad that Prochiron accompanied us till the end. Otherwise, the monsters would have totally eaten us before we could even exit. We progressed forward, exiting the city and walking to the top of the hill. We entered the ghostly forest soon where skulls and skeletons lay at random places. They looked as if saying; this is your only chance! Run away!! We did.
We went as fast as we could. The monster army patrolling the border soon came into my vision as I walked past them. We were almost near the end when Prochiron decided to part ways. He said, "It was nice meeting you. I wish you best of luck for your task. We will meet soon." I thanked him for his support. "But beware. The brothers of King Jalaar are not a joke. You need to think before you take any step further. And most importantly, beware of my master. If you do not finish the task, he will haunt and kill you in your wildest dreams. Farewell!" Saying so, the warrior left.
Mark and I were already scared thinking of the results. We needed to succeed. I took out my phone from my bag and called Oliver. Oliver attended. "Hey buddy. Where are you right now?" I asked. "We are making our way to Hilton Town to talk with Master Polwern. Why?" He asked. He didn't sound frightened at all which was good. Cryopter hadn't arrived yet.
"Okay. Listen to me. All the DELTAs need to reach the DELTA Headquarters right now. I am not joking. Cryopter is coming!" I exclaimed. "Who the heck is Cryopter now?" Oliver enquired. I replied, "No time to explain. He's an enemy and he's coming for you guys. You need to get into the DELTA Headquarters. He will not be able to enter that realm and also, he would not mess the whole Hilton Town."
Oliver was fine with that plan and just before he could end the call, noises were heard on the other side of the call. "What's happening?" I enquired. Oliver shrieking voice said, "The ground… something is happening here. You need to reach here as quickly as possible. I'll talk to you later." The call ended with the curious note.
Mark demanded what had happened to Oliver and I was unable to answer. "We can only think that Cryopter has arrived there. We need to get to the region quick!" I ordered and started rushing. In front of us was a mountain which was a big obstacle. But Mark's grappling hook did the trick. We travelled quickly using Quester. In about 10 minutes, we reached the top and continued forward. Our journey was tiresome but we had to travel fast.
After walking for a long time, we finally found a few Darknorians. We had reached the Darknorian borders at last. We searched for a flying taxi and quickly rushed to Mount Drake. The journey took about an hour. It was 9:38 pm by the time we reached. The Saphrop had set. We paid the driver and marched forward. Going through Foster Town brought back memories. But for some reason, the outskirts of the town was destroyed. Mark and I exchanged worried glances. What was going on? We increased our pace as the destruction level grew.
There weren't any citizens roaming around. I did find some people staring at us in fright from their windows. Everybody had hid away. I found a person lying near an upside down vehicle. He had been freaked out. Then he looked at me and called out, "Blaze Hunt?" I nodded and bent towards him. Looking around, I asked him, "What had happened here?" He stammered, "S-some monster had come here. The other DELTAs t-tried to fight but were defeated. I don't know anymore."
I smiled at him and said, "Thank you for the information. You should now go back home. We'll take care." The way I said that, I felt like a hero which for some reason, I didn't like being titled as. The man got to his feet and ran off. I looked at Mark and he knew where we needed to go next. We made our way to Mount Drake. Or maybe I should say the late Mount Drake.
When we reached the area, I got a big shock to see that Mount Drake had been half destroyed. Only half of it looked untouched but now it had no peak. Thankfully, it wasn't a volcanic Mountain. It was a big terrain change though. And by the look of things, Cryopter had arrived before us and caused all this. "Where are the others?" Mark enquired. We examined the area around Mount Drake. The grasslands were still alright but there were a little holes in between along with rocks scattered here and there.
That's when I found Oliver lying near the Mountain's base. We rushed to him. He had his back to us and was unconscious. "Looks like something big happened here." Mark said. Surely he was right. I tried shaking Oliver awake but he did not budge. "It was a fatal fight. It will take time to recover." A voice said. Behind us, I found Xavier standing with his right hand catching his left arm. Blood was flowing continuously from that arm and it was almost painful to have such kind of a reunion.
I even noticed Amanda with a tree fallen right on top of her. Luckily, she had incurred no damage as the tree branches had stopped just inches above her. She crawled her way out and looked totally exhausted. I looked at Xavier. Mark and I needed a synopsis of the whole situation. "That monster – Cryopter, was it? – he suddenly appeared and started thrashing us. The fight took place in Foster Town. Half of the town has been destroyed. But that's not it." Xavier explained. "Cryopter, that creature is at another level. He can used land to his advantage, create earthquakes, crumple trees and even cut off mountains. We tried our best to stop him but he was too strong. Apparently, he sensed you two coming and fled. Cryopter has promised to come back tomorrow."
All around me, the ground was uneven and destroyed. That showed how strong Cryopter was. "He is currently creating havoc in Hilton town. We need to hurry. I don't think Master Polwern can defend the city for too long." Amanda said. That was bad. The Red One had warned me about the strength of the three brothers but this was too much. And if they were this strong, I wondered how strong King Jalaar would be….
"We need to travel to Hilton town before it's too late. Also, we have some discussions to do with Master Polwern. Xavier, get your warship ready. You three need to reach there as fast as possible. I will follow with Oliver." I ordered. Oliver still looked pale and unconscious. Everyone looked tensed but Xavier agreed. He ran to the warship near the mountain base. Luckily, nothing had happened to the ship. And with that, Xavier, Amanda and Mark left.
