Chapter 55 - Chapter 55

Later that night, Trixie carefully crawled out of the bed as Emerick slept, smiling contently. Thanks to Arnwald's arrival, the four queens had been sufficiently preoccupied the rest of the afternoon, leaving her and Emerick to catch up on weeks of pent up libido. She smiled, momentarily dazed as she thought back on the long, glorious hours of love making. She doubted there was a single surface in his room they hadn't used during that explosive and lustful dance. To a degree, she wished she was still curled up against him, basking in that marvelous afterglow, but if she didn't move quickly, she'd miss her chance.

'You are still up and about?' Lamya's voice floated into her mind. 'I would've thought you'd be exhausted by now. You did… exert yourself… quite a lot."

"There's a few things I need to take care of," Trixie replied, trying not to role her eyes.

No matter how often she asked Lamya to give her privacy, the demon always stuck her nose where it didn't belong. No point in bringing it up though, Lamya would only point out that Trixie could always remove the ring and leave it in her room, then the hobgoblin would have all the privacy she could want. It was a fair point, but Trixie couldn't bring herself to do it. The thought of someone happening upon it was too stressful for her to cope with, so she kept it on her at all times.

'At this time of night?' Lamya scoffed.

Trixie didn't bother answering. If the demon didn't already know the reason—and she was about 900% certain that she did—it would be easy enough for her to find out on her own. Mind reading clearly came with its uses.

With another glance at the bed to confirm Emerick was still fast asleep, she began collecting her discarded clothes. As she slipped them on, she thought about the state of her closet and had to shake her head. It was stuffed to the brim with all manner of garments, from basic work attire, sparing gear, and casual outfits, to gaudy gowns, and lingerie that could put pink in the cheeks of even the most shameless dominatrix. To make matters worse, she hadn't bought a single article for herself. They were all gifts from Emerick, his mothers, Zeke, and there was even an especially glamorous ball gown from the Sky Tyrant himself.

She honestly didn't know what to do with all of it. She would have been content with three outfits and a single dress for when she felt like dressing fancy. The most worrisome part of all this was the fact Emerick had promised her wardrobe would likely double—if not triple—on her birthday.

'He has numerous documents filled with your personal information, including your birth records, lest you forget,' Lamya pointed out. 'Hoping he hasn't figured out your birthday is foolish, and you know it.'

"It's really annoying when you do that," Trixie commented with a click of her tongue. Even more than the breach of privacy, it was most annoying when Lamya went out of her way to respond to her thoughts.

'Someone needs to give it to you straight,' Lamya chuckled. 'Seriously, you are so skilled at deluding yourself, it's not even funny. Well… maybe a little. I digress.' She cleared her throat. 'In any case, I shudder to think how you would fare without me here to talk some sense into you every now and then.'

"Say what you want," Trixie grumbled. "I managed just fine on my own before I met you."

'So says the girl who was dragging a body through an empty building to a mass burial site in the middle of the night,' Lamya smirked. Trixie didn't need to see it to know it was happening. 'Dear, if that's what you consider "managing just fine" I would hate to see what you actually deem worthy to call a true crisis.'

"Don't you have anything better to do with that glib mouth of yours?" Trixie ground her teeth.

'I would be happy to put it to work in other ways if you so desired,' Lamya said with a suggestive tone accompanied by a seductive chuckle. 'And thanks to your numerous experiences with the little prince, I know exactly where and how you like it. Of course, you would have to summon me first…'

"Can't you take anything seriously?" Trixie exclaimed. She tried not to think too much about the implications of Lamya's innuendoes, but admittedly something about the idea of trying it out was devastatingly tempting.

'You're talking out loud to yourself again, dear," Lamya chuckled. The smugness in her tone drove Trixie nuts, as did her comment.

Now fully conscious of her outward conversation, Trixie nervously peered back over her shoulder to the prince's slumbering form. Thankfully, he was still breathing deeply with a sleepy, yet content smile. His expression made her want to both kiss him, and slap him at the same time, but she refrained. If she woke him now, it was unlikely she'd make her nearing appointment.

Satisfied, she quickly finished dressing and scurried out the door. Though inwardly relieved she hadn't woken Emerick or attracted unwanted attention to the demon she carried, Trixie made an effort to get in one last jab. She conjured an image of herself flipping the bird and thought the image at Lamya as hard as she could. She felt mildly petty for her efforts, but profoundly satisfied nonetheless. Unfortunately, that satisfaction wouldn't last her to the end of the hallway.

Just as Trixie began to think of the task ahead, a powerfully erotic image flashed through her mind. She froze for a moment, trying to sort out what had just happened and how she was so wet from a random mental image she couldn't even fully recall. Unsettled, but unable to determine the cause, she started on her way again.
