On a nice night with hardly any clouds in the night sky. The crescent moon hung high in the sky as a nice breeze rolled through the buildings. Upon a certain building a small meeting was taking place.
"We really need to stop meeting like this."
On top of a roof, Jason sat alongside the edge watching as a woman in a black leather suit climbed up. In graceful movements and near professional level gymnastics she appeared carrying a bag of jewelry. While it gave her a small startle that someone was there, he saw she quickly hid away her surprise once she saw who it was.
"Oh, come on. First it's the bug boy now it is you. Do you guys take turns in finding me or something?" Felicia asked, throwing her hands up.
Since their first meeting, he had taken the time to appear before her at least once per week. Only like the first meeting, he ends up having to leave soon for a more deadly or serious matter. Though, he usually ends up ending her career of thieving for the night before leaving.
"Yes, we go to an abandoned boxing gym and duke it out over the right to stop you." Jason replied sarcastically.
"Haha. Don't you have more important matters to take care of instead of stopping me?'
"I would be worried about this planet if I didn't." He replied as his nightmare of endless graves surfaced.
The only time he wouldn't have more important matters to deal with is if all life on this planet is dead. Well, unless humanity expands into the cosmos and leaves behind the planet, then it is a different matter entirely.
"However for you, I will always make time."
"Tsk." Clicking her tongue, she didn't blush or find his answer amusing. Afterall, everytime she runs into him, she is always on the losing end. "Shall we get this over with now?" She asked as she spread out her arms forming a T-pose.
"And here I was hoping you put up a fight." Jason frowned as she usually tries to escape or fight him seductively.
"I can't beat you and anything I try is like a toy in front of you."
While still a bit wary about her, he did get closer to her. While he began taking back the jewelry, gems and other bits she took. He was about to begin taking the ones she tucked into her clothes when she pressed a button.
From within her clothes the sound of a bunch of high power dog whistles went off. Confused on how he missed them, he backed away with his expression slightly shifting. As he scanned her with his x-ray and didn't see wires or hardly any tech within her outfit. It left him with very few options and magic was at the top of that list.
"It's funny, you know. For every life you save or disaster you help at, ten more turn against you and look for ways to stop you. I found this little device online after many concluded you have super hearing." In her hand, Felicia held up what appears to be a normal keychain.
"How does it feel to be on the receiving end of it?" She smiled before realising that the key chain vanished.
Crushing it between his fingers, Jason looked at it and concluded it was a magic item like he guessed. While making a mental note to look out for these things in the future, Jason looked up at Felicia who was attempting to run. Lightly tossing her on his shoulder, she attempted to escape by beating on him, but quickly gave up when she realised she was hurting herself more than him.
"It is the thrill you like when you steal isn't it?" Jason asked while he looked up at the sky.
"So what?" Felicia replied.
"While the thrill will be slightly different. I have a friend who might be able to offer you one. That is if you can pass the interview." Jason thought.
Lately he was slightly worried about Lala about not having hardly any female friends around her age on this planet. Between the time she is with him, she usually either relaxes in the living room or mess around in her lab. Now while it is a bit of a stretch and probably not his business, if Feclia accepts he solves two problems.
"A job? Is Mr. Hero turning bad?"
"No, this job is legal. It will be an adventure for you if you gracefully accept."
Thinking it over, Felicia would be lying if she said she wasn't interested. The main reason wasn't for the money or thrills, but to research. If this man had a friend, she might be able to find hold of his weakness.
"Fine, when and where."
"Great, now for your interview all you need to do is to successfully enter this lab. From climbing in or just chatting up the owners, once you enter you pass. The deadline is in two weeks." Jason smiled as he gave her the address to his and Lala's lab.
While he wanted to continue holding her, it almost always on cue something grabs his attention. Quickly returning all the things she stole, Jason found himself heading toward the source.

Returning to the apartment as the morning sun was peeking into the window. Jason found Lala already awake sitting at a desk going over a couple piles of paperwork. Recently she has been dealing with some of the big names either interested in investing or just outright buying her research.
"How is it going?" He asked as he looked over her shoulder.
"Oscorp wants to invite me to help in researching a rare genetic disease. They are fairly desperate for a breakthrough and they hope I can cause a breakthrough. The thing is genetics and the like aren't my specialty."
"Well, then just send a nicely worded letter rejecting the request."
"It can save so many though." Lala frowns.
"It is not your job to save everyone. You are brilliant, but you don't hold all the answers."
"I guess you're right."
"Yes, now I got a surprise for you. What do you think about gaining a secretary?"
After explaining his idea, Lala smiled as she agreed. While she truthfully didn't need one at the moment, who knows what the future would hold. Giving him a small peck on his cheek for being thoughtful.
"Now go shower, you stink." She said while pinching her nose.
