Chapter 47 - Chapter 47

Since deciding on his game plan and getting off to a slightly rocky start. Jason soon found his style and grew comfortable in his role. Which launched his small venture into the world of pod casting. From covering some of the latest technology to health tips, he began covering a wide base of topics.

In the following weeks, he was surprised as he managed to gather a small fanbase. Which slowly grew everyday and was about the only change in his daily life for the time being. From running about the world saving others to hanging around Lala and teasing Felicia when he could. He spent the rest working and recording his podcast.

As for what he is currently doing? Jason found himself tossing pizza dough, well attempting to toss it. Due to his strength the poor dough had more holes and tears in it than swiss cheese. After patching up his latest one, he gently laid it into the pan and called it good.

Cooking wasn't his forte, but he pushed on with plans of finishing and never trying it again.

"Like I said, microwave meals are the best." he mumbled to himself.

--

In a peaceful manner, Jason discovered his birthday had come around once more marking him eighteen years old. Looking back on it, he could say it was a busy year and changed a lot compared to his previous years.

Since Lala came crashing into his shower, he left his hobby which he used as an excuse to lock himself away from the world. Then he fought off an assassination attempt, an invasion or two, and began being a hero. All within the last year, his small and simple life had turned around becoming more exciting.

While he remembered the good or more exciting parts, there were also black marks. From the casualties, locking himself away after his irresponsibility, or other mistakes he made along the way. All which left their various marks on him pushing himself to improve to be even a tiniest bit better next time.

"Lilith, is there something going on?" Jason asked his AI.

While he was in his fortress, preparing to move it to Antarctica as a scientist team recently moved into the area. He thought it would be better if he moved the fortress before it was discovered. The last thing he wanted was curious humans or the government attempting to besiege it.

Only as he was working, Jason's crisis sense came online. He felt something was happening and by the scale. It probably is a world crisis or at least a natural disaster.

Popping on screen, his AI succubus who appeared in a towel that barely clung to her body.

"From what I could find, recently a man who calls himself Loki from Norse mythology was captured in Germany. Now there is a rapidly increasing powersurge located in New York."

"What does New York currently look like?" Jason asked with a mass amount of streams or video clips appeared.

There wasn't anything abnormal going on, until a wide blue like tear appeared in the sky. Pouring out like a pack of bees or ants, the sight of an invasion beginning as an energy beam smashed into a building. The sound of screaming soon filled the clips as Lilith closed them.

"There is currently a portal open above New York. Earth's current survivability: Low."

Thoughts ran through Jason's head as he quickly came up with a plan. While he knew that the Avengers should have assembled, he didn't want to leave it up to them. Life and movies were different and there was no guarantee they would win.

'Not to mention that Lala, Felicia and Liz are in New York.' Jason thought as he didn't think about his father's safety. The man can take care of himself even if a building falls on him, the other three could not.

Looking at the suit, while he was a bit reluctant, he didn't grab it. While he felt closer to wearing it, he felt it wasn't the right time for it. If he put it on now, he felt it would go to his head and be like a kid with a new toy.

"Lilith, tell the others to get somewhere safe." Jason said as he took off leaving behind a few sonic booms as he rushed across the planet.

--

In New York, a battle began as explosions, gunfire and mass screaming and crying filled the streets. While a few tried to fight back, there were too many civilians caught in the crossfire. To only add salt to the wound, it was only the beginning as it was only the opening act as the portal rapidly expanded.

A large eel-like creature covered in armor came out with razor sharp teeth and a whole lot of attitude. The creature had a grey colored scale with bronze colored armor plating as Chitauri soldiers clung to its sides.

"This might be bad." Tony said as the creature began chasing him.

"Sir, a small projectile is rapidly heading your way." A small robotic voice told him.

"What kind of projectile?" Tony asked. The last thing he wanted is to be in the crossfire and take a missile to the face.

"Unknown," was all he got before a blur passed him.

--

Upon reaching New York, the first thing Jason did was deal with the large creature wrecking the nearby buildings. Flying passed, Iron Man, he delivered a devastating punch to the creature. As if it was made of paper, its head crumbled inwards as the body basically wrapped itself into a ball.

Tossing the corpse into space while feeling a bit bad about killing it alongside those that rode on it. Jason didn't dwell on it for long and rushed off to the next battle taking out the groups targeting the civilians. Quick and efficiently, he directly changed the tide of the battle as best he could.

'That portal needs to close.' Jason thought as he took out a pair of soldiers soaring past him on a pair of gliders. He could hear Natasha who was currently attempting to stop the generator but was blocked by a shield it was projecting.

"No good, I can't turn it off!" Natasha shouted.

Grabbing one of the empty gliders, Jason spun it around and threw it at the floor below the roof. In less than ten seconds the portal was closed and the generator was down. Soon, the battle came to an end as the last Chitauri soldier fell under the Hulk's fist.

'The battle may be won, but clean up has to be done.' Jason thought as he tossed up his symbol and began racing around to rescue those he could.
