It was early morning with the morning sun just reaching the horizon. Inside a two story farmhouse that was surrounded by acres of unused land. A large muscular man with pure white hair appeared at the bottom of the staircase.
"Jason!"
When he heard his father shout from the bottom of the stairs. A tall teen with nice yet wild looking black hair. His dark blue eyes peeked through his hair as he appeared at the top of the stairs holding a pair of girls underwear.
"Yeah?" Jason asked.
Beside him a pink-haired girl peeker her head out from around the corner. Her bare shoulder could be seen and water droplets falling from her wet hair. The bottom of her towel could barely be seen from around the corner.
"Your mother dropped off some presents for you. They are on the table for you." James answered with a bright smile. Turning away he paused before looking back up the stairs. "I'm taking Liz out shopping for a couple hours."
Blinking at his father's sudden interest in shopping. Jason felt a little off seeing the man whistling a small tune. Especially as he remembered they already did this week shopping yesterday.
"That was weird, anyway Lala." Jason said as he held up his hands. "Wear these."
--
Down in the kitchen, a stack of movies and a large wrapped present was sitting on top with a card. Looking over the movies, a smile soon blossomed on Jason's lips as they were a television series and a couple movies that don't exist in his current world. However, they existed in his last life and were some of his favorites to watch.
"Smallville, Superman Returns, Superman: The Man of Steel, Batman vs. Superman." Lala read out with a confused expression.
While she was looking at the stack of movies, Jason opened the card.
"Dear Jason,
Please forgive me if these arrive a bit late. So I decided to add a couple extra gifts to make up for it.
Love Mom.
P.s. You might need what is in the box in the near future."
Sitting the letter down, and opening the box, a layer of magazine appeared. On the cover were various women showing off their bodies or swimsuits. Placing his mother's joke to the side, underneath was a folded sleek looking red and blue uniform. On top was a large red and yellow S encased in a diamond shape.
'A Superman Uniform? Why would I need one? I'm not a hero.' Jason thought as he lifted it up.
Memories of when he was younger surfaced of when he was first reborn. Jason remembers he was excited and wanted to become a hero. Only once James began to train him and showed him the heavy responsibility did that dream vanished. Unlike his father who had a firm will, he on the other hand lacked it and realized being a hero can't be done on a whisme one.
"Who is Superman?" Lala asked not to see the outfit.
"It was who Dad was before he retired." Jason asked as he picked up the stack and headed towards the living room.
"Really? Are these movies about him?" Lala asked curiously as the covers showed different actors who didn't look similar to James.
"A version of him. You do know about the multiverse theory right?" Jason shrugged as he popped the first disk of Smallville in. "These movies are basically glimpses into a different reality or version of him when he was young."
"Really!" Lala said in amazement before a suspicious look overcame her.
While she looked at him slightly suspiciously, she didn't ask anything else. Instead she became more interested in watching as Jason sat next to her. Pretty soon she became hooked on the show as she saw Clark falling down due to a green necklace.
--
"I don't see why he likes Lana so much." Lala complained as they finished up the forth episode. "It hasn't really shown all that much to cause him to be head over heels like he is."
Due to her becoming interested in the show, they began to binge watch. As for now they were currently taking a break as her stomach protested loudly for food. Which gave Lala a chance to share her thoughts as she doesn't want to miss anything that might be important while watching.
"He is supposed to be a teenage boy. At that age most teenage boys don't really look past appearances." Jason replied as he thought for a moment. "It is why some call it puppy love as it is quick to come and quick to go. Though, that isn't always the case, but those are really rare occurrences."
"Really? Do you love me?" Lala asked curiously, but Jason felt like she laid a minefield he had to cross. Luckily for him, Krptonians have thick skin.
"What is love?" He replied with a small smirk. "I think if it is built up over time it has a chance of lasting longer."
"So is that a yes or no." Lala grumbled to herself as he didn't answer the question.
"I just met you less than a month ago? Give it time and the answer will reveal itself." Jason said before looking outside. "Now why don't you make some popcorn. I will go greet our guests."
--
Stepping outside, Jason walked out towards a group of four standing on the driveway. With two standing nearly three meters tall in the back towering over the front two. The four of them wore black cloaks with a golden mark engraved on them.
The golden mark was in the form of a star descending into darkness. Pulling back her hood, a woman who apparently was the leader stepped forward. Her dark brown hair contrasts against her light blue skin and green eyes.
"So who are you four supposed to be?" Jason asked calmly.
"We are your grim reapers, human." The woman spoke pridefully as her face began to twist.
"Grim Reapers, huh." Jason mumbled as he shook his head. "So what should I call your group?"
"We are the Golden Darkness, the legendary group of assassins feared in the universe."
When the woman answered, the three beside her pulled back their cloaks before posing in various funny looking poses.
The two giants were basically swimming in muscles as they appeared like bodybuilders. Their death grey skin and black masks revealed their bloodshot cat-like eyes. Both of them lifted their arms and formed an arrow shape as they appeared to stick their head in the lower arms.
In front the fourth member who was a woman crouched down and stuck her arms out to the side. She had light yellow skin while purple slight eyes in the form of a cross. Finally the leader formed a Y shape.
'Are you guys the Ginyu Force?' Jason thought as he wondered if he should look for a camera.
"So what are you guys doing here?"
"We were hired to end your miserable life. You can take pride in being killed by such a legendary group." The blue skin woman replied.
Jason watched as they pulled out their weapons. The two muscle giants weapons were a pair of bronze knuckles, while the women held two knives in each hand. Looking at the blades, Jason noticed that their weapons were heating up as their blade gained a red hue to them.
"Now die." The blue skin shouted as her twist grin turned up.
When the four jumped forward, Jason felt everything slow down as he sped walk his way through them. Flicking the knives out of the woman's hands, he gave the two a bop on the head knocking them out. Doing the same with the men, he slowly returned to his original positions.
In less than a second, the group of legendary assassins fell unconscious. For a group of legendary assassins, they didn't really do well researching their target.
"Impossible! How can a mere human take them down in an instant." a small frog-like creature screamed.
Floating in the sky in his little saucer, a slightly scared look overcame him. This being was naturally Lacospo.
"I will be back for the Princess!" Lacospo shouted as his ship rocket into the sky.
"I didn't say anything yet though." Jason grumbled wondering if there was a cross up in scripts. Isn't he supposed to say, 'Who are you?' before getting a whole spiral from Lacospo on how he was in the way of becoming king.
"Jason, I will start it without you if you don't come back in ten seconds." Lala called from the house.
Shaking his head, Jason returned inside ignoring the four unconscious assassins. He would wait for Zastin to finally appear before handing them off to him. For a man who was determined to arrive with a message. He got lost pretty fast.
