Chapter 13 - WHEN GIRLS FALL IN LOVE: 'TWAS A JOY 4

The cousins took Joe to watch them play pool. The terms: the loser will wear girl's clothes and will have his picture taken professionally and posted online until it hits one million views. Joe thought it would be fun, she actually already made the appointment with the photographer.

Currently, it was a tie. Because of the terms, they were attracting more and more spectators. Both of them don't want to lose. Joe was having fun when suddenly three women came in. David looked and saw Christine took the cue ball and looked seriously at him. Joe watched worriedly.

"What do you want?" David asked. His voice was a bit irritated

"Play with me?" Christine smirked and gave him the challenge.

David's forehead creased, "What if I don't want to..."

"Hear the terms first," Christine insisted. "If you win, I will stop stalking you. I will stop declaring to the world that I love you."

"Good…" David agreed.

"But… if I win, you will come with me out of town for the weekend. After the date, I will be out of your life as well," Christine said.

"You have your word on that?" David asked. He was confident that he would win.

Christine nodded, "And I keep my word."

Thus, the game began. She would smirk here and then. He would scrunch his forehead. A ball went in… sometimes two. The game continued to heat up. The cheers for Christine grew louder while David began to sweat. Kenji could not help but to chuckle most of the time and smirked with his hands crossed. Joe crossed her fingers. Then, in no time, the game was over.

Kenji put his arm on David's shoulder. "What are you going to do? She won," he teased. David clenched his jaw.

Christine wrote something on a piece of paper and handed it to David, "Pick me up at seven on Saturday," she smirked and left.

David looked at the paper. It was her address.

"Let me see," Joe said and took the paper from his hand. After she saw what was on it, she looked at him worriedly, "What are you going to do?" she repeated what Kenji asked.

"This is not happening," he said.

"Are you sure this is going to work?" Joe asked as she watched her best friend grab his car keys.

"No girl in her right mind would decline a $10,000 amount of shopping spree," David answered and showed her the gift certificate.

"I don't know. You should have a back up plan," Joe suggested.

David sighed and sat beside her. He placed his hand on her hair and ruffled it, "Don't worry too much I have everything under control. I'll tell her mom has an emergency or something like that."

Joe frowned. Her gut tells her something is going to be wrong. But still she supported his plan. "Okay, good luck with that. Call me if things go bad and I'll save you, okay?" she replied.

Joe chuckled and hugged her. "Of course, my knight in shining armor," he teased.

Joe shook her head and pushed him away. "Go already, jerk." she said.

David stood up, winked at her and then left. Joe sighed, "I hope your plan works."

Christine was beyond excited and nervous at the same time. She had checked her reflection in the mirror several times already.

"For the nth time Christine, you look beautiful," Denise told her anxious friend.

"Do you really think so?" she said and looked again.

Her brown hair was curled on the tips and was done in a half ponytail with some strands let loose to frame her face. She was wearing an off-shoulder yellow dress with white daisies as design.

"Are you sure, I am not overdressed?" she asked her friends once more. "Maybe I should change it to a blue halter top and jeans instead."

Denise and Rachel looked at each other.

"What do you think?" Christine asked again.

"YOU LOOK GREAT!" Both of them raised their voices at her. She was getting pretty annoying.

Christine raised her brows at them teasingly, "Well excuse me if I'm excited."

"Oh are you? It's not obvious, you hide it so well," Rachel teased with every word dripping with sarcasm.

Christine put her hands on her hips and was about to come up with a clever retort but the doorbell rang. The three women looked at each other. Christine squealed!

"Good luck," Rachel and Denise told her.

She nodded and after a quick touch up, she opened the door and smiled at David.

"Sorry," David apologized right away.

Christine scrunched her forehead, "What do you mean?"

"My mother had an emergency so I couldn't go. But, to make up for it, here is a $10,000 dollar gift certificate for a shopping spree…" David lied. "I'm really sorry."

Christine's face became gloomy. "Ohhhh… that's too bad," she said. She knows he's lying. She should know, it sounded like what she would say to avoid a suitor.

"I'm sorry, Christine," David told her with a fake sincere face.

Christine faked a smile too and nodded. Her crafty mind was already plotting a devious plan "It's okay… come in first, have a drink."

'Just play it cool, David.' David told himself. "Just a glass of juice, please," David said.

'You're not getting away from me.' Christine thought before she replied, "Sure…." Then, she turned to her friends," Girls ,look, we're going shopping today," she said with her voice hinting to her friends that she has a backup plan.

She went to the kitchen. Denise followed her while Rachel was left alone to chat with David.

When they were out of earshot, Denise asked, "What are you going to do?"

Christine took the ice pick from the drawer, "Go and deflate all of his tires."

Denise smirked, "What are you planning?"

Christine poured juice on a glass and put a sleeping pill on it, "No one ditches Christine Wei on a date. Now, go use the backdoor and do what I say," she said before coming out of the kitchen smiling too sweetly.
