Chapter 7 - Chapter 7 : The last of deaths

After listening to what the relative had to say to her, Haqikah nodded her head and asked "How is she? Is she okay now? Did she gain consciousness?" then the relative said "Yes, you may visit her. She is lying down on the cot in the verandah."

Haqikah stood up and joined her hands as she bowed down to the person she spoke to. She walked out of the house and saw the boy's mother sitting up on the cot. She went up to her and asked "Are you okay? How are feeling now? Is your body in a better condition now? Have you eaten anything?"

The boy's mother was bewildered with the plethora of questions she had asked and didn't answer any of them but bent her head down and made an expression on her face as if she was about to tear up again.

Although she didn't answer any of her questions, she just said in a low but grumbly voice, "This is all happening because of her! I hope she never lives happily; I hope she dies someday... She will pay for her wrongdoings!"

On hearing this, Haqikah understood that she isn't in a proper condition to think or speak logically; so she stood up and said "That girl will not cause troubles anymore. So we now know that all of this has end with your child's demise. I know this sounds harsh and this isn't something I should be saying given the sorrowful situation you're in but, I can't bring myself to say anything sympathetic either, so, all I can say for now is that I hope you stay in good health in the future and get over it..." then she turned around and said "perhaps I've spoke too much, I'll take my leave now."

She walked out of the house as she signaled the men who had accompanied her. What Haqikah had said to the boy's mother that day was heard by a few other villagers who had visited and so the word spread throughout the village and people were reluctant to believe it at first but the news they heard seemed to be turning into reality until...The word about the disappearance of Gugu's mother had spread...
