Chapter 1 - Chapter one

Who said all the dragons were scary and gruesome?

Sheryl met a dragon five minutes ago. She was assigned as a guard to protect the mightiest dragon's son himself.

The dragon prince.

Except he was, in no way, how the tales predicted him to be. His name was Denzel Deon, the most beautiful and the most harmless dragon you'd ever meet.

"Young Master Denzel, I will be under your care from now." Sheryl didn't bat an eyelash before bowing in almost loyalty. "The dragon king has assigned me as your new bodyguard, I will be by your side at all times."

There is one thing everyone should know about this world, dragons can transform into human beings to be able to hold better communications. Their true forms are only revealed during a battle or crowing ceremony.

This country is ruled by dragons, afterall.

To be straightforward, there are three hidden countries on globe. Why are they hidden? That is magic.

They used magic to conceal the presence from human beings who rule rest of the world.

And three hidden countries are ruled by Dragons, Fairies and Vampires, the most dominant creatures of this world.

Also, that was more than one thing.

"Young Master," Sheryl cleared her throat, "You forgot the fourth country, ruled by mermens."

"They're no country, they're just cowards." Denzel huffed, turning his head away. "No, wait, how did you interrupt the narrator-"

Ah, anyways, these three- I mean four countries are extremely powerful and would effectively crush the human world if they wanted to, but they have signed a peace treaty which none of the humans except their government to know about.

Skipping the boring talk, let's come back to the present situation.

Master Denzel was tired of all his bodyguards falling for him. He hated the fact that none of them could last longer than six months. they would repeatedly fall for his beauty as if he were an Aphrodite.

Of course, he wasn't. He was just a dragon.

"I was told to train you, Master. You are weak."

Denzel cried silent tears, as he bit his lip. That last part was true.

He straightened his posture and sighed. "I wonder how long you might last."

"I will forever be by your side."

Denzel blinked at the reply. "That was fast." Had Sheryl already fallen for him? They had met only five minutes ago.

She whipped her head up in a murderous glare at Denzel, determination seeping out through her glasses. "I will protect you with my life. It's my word to the Dragon King."

The dragon prince flinched, immediately looking at others for a hint of any jokes involved. When he found the other guards and maids completely stony faced, he let out a nervous chuckle.

"Cut it out, guys." He waved his hand in front of him. "Relax yourselves in front of me, please."

Few seemed to loosen up their joints, but Sheryl kneeled down immediately. "I vow to be useful."

Yes, from then on, the dragon prince wished he never had to be one of the royal families, or even a dragon maybe.

Denzel was tired. He wanted to be a comman man already. He wanted to go university without being treated unfairly.

He knew he was a dragon prince but he did not require the extra effort everyone put around him. He had none of the strength that a dragon prince must contain.

He was just a dragon accidentally born into the royal family.

"Okay." he sighed. "You can call me Denzel."

Sheryl nodded. "As you say, young master Denzel."

"No, no." Denzel folded his arms. "Say it with me. Denzel."

"Young master, Denzel."

He gave up on her, immediately rising on his feet. "Leave me alone for a while."

"As you wish, Young master." the group of men and women who worked in the palace said in sync and took their leave after bowing before the dragon prince.

The dragon prince was 21, and he wanted his share of freedom that all his older brothers got. He didn't, because he was the youngest, and of course, the weakest of them all.

It wasn't his fault he was born that way.

"I said, leave me alone." He looked at Sheryl, annoyed and narrowing his eyes.

"I have taken the oath to never leave you alone."

"Eh?" He rolled his eyes. "So what? Leave. No one's that loyal."

"I am." She pushed his glasses back on his nose.

This was going to be a long journey.
