Chapter 17 - Black dragon squad

Soul consciousness is more formidable and powerful depending on how strong one was. When Nero released his perception, he directed it to penetrate the ground.

"Break!!"

Nero roared as the explosive Qi in his fist increased.

The light emitted from the pattern gradually dimmed as the pattern cracked, and later dissipated into thin air. The mist slowly faded, revealing a view different from what it initially was. A lush green forest mountain range appeared. It was thousands of meters high with countless caves running through it. Surprisingly, this mountain range bathed in the light from the sun.

This was the first time Nero had seen the rays of sunlight touching the forest floors, much less this entire green plane.

"Where is this place?" Nero wondered. "Was that formation also meant to hide this mountain?"

This forest mountain range suddenly appeared when Nero destroyed the formation, so he wondered. The Dao of formations and arrays was very broad. Likewise, it was also very hard to find a formation that could perform multiple tasks, like creating poisonous mists while hiding a mountain. To Nero, this wasn't considered much, but seeing it in a world that harbors mortals shows how advanced this unknown world might be.

Nero slowly walked towards the mountain, releasing his perception to cover a large area. Nero wasn't an ordinary martial artist. Even though perception is the underdeveloped form of the soul consciousness, Nero's perception was still many times stronger than that of an average martial artist.

...

"Mm!?"

Sitting on a stone chair, a middle-aged man frowned. The room was slightly dark even though luminescent crystals were placed on the walls.

"My Lord!!" A young man ran into the darkroom while screaming at the top of his voice.

"I know already." The middle-aged man sitting on the stone chair calmly retorted. "Spread out and find whoever is responsible and bring them to me alive. I want to know who is bold enough to barge in here."

The Western Earth Kingdom is ruled by the five top powerhouses- Gandor Kingdom, Keon kingdom, Reinhart kingdom, Trenton family, and the Siel family. Of these five powerhouses, the Gandor kingdom was the oldest and strongest.

Occasionally, these five powerhouses would war with each other over resources and territory in an attempt to swallow the weaker ones. However, there lies an extremely secretive underworld society whose overall power was on par with the Gandor kingdom! Their motive has always remained unclear and so was their movement.

The Black Dragon squad!

A notorious society that specializes in various heinous acts. The five top powerhouses dare not rashly act against them. The leader of such an organization must be a cruel, heartless character.

The middle-aged man sitting on the stone chair is the leader of the Black Dragon squad… Saburo! He was a martial arts master at the Grand cultivation Realm. A scar ran across his face directly above his nose. Every time he took a deep breath, it seemed to twitch causing one to feel uncomfortable.

The young man who came in to report quietly left the stone room to execute his new orders.

Saburo knit his brows, "Could it be…" He said and turned to take a glance at something beside him.

Beside Saburo's stone chair was a huge metal cage. Within this cage lay a young woman. Her overall condition wasn't nice, to say the least. She had many injuries ranging from cuts to bone-deep wounds and head injuries. A mere look at her was able to discern that she had gone through many days of torture.

Saburo licked his lips as he looked at her, "I don't know what your 'Royal' father is planning, but don't think that anyone can save you from me… hehehe." He sneered mockingly. Judging from what he just said, it seemed that the lady in the cage was of high and powerful background. But that didn't stop Saburo from doing as he pleased.

Nero was already at the foot of the mountain. In front of him was a 20 foot high stone cave. The cave was dark with only the rays of sunlight coming from the entrance. Nero took a few steps inside the cave before something unexpected happened. The cave suddenly shook heavily and a giant boulder rolled to the entrance, completely sealing it.

The next moment, the cave suddenly lit up with luminescent crystals. The cave was almost as wide as a football court that spread many meters apart. The lights lit up every corner of the cave, all except a dark narrow passageway. By estimation, the passageway was only enough for two people to walk shoulder by shoulder.

Nero knit his brows, he stared deeply at the dark passageway; he could sense some weak auras coming from the passageway.

"You dare barge into our base!? Who are you and what do you want!?" A Loud voice echoed from the dark passageway.

Shortly afterward, a man emerged from the dark passageway. With his sword already drawn pointing towards Nero, and a wave of killing intent that emanated from his body, it was obvious what the outcome would be. For a ruthless organization like this, leaving a survivor was without question impossible, much less someone who had barged into their base.

Nero sized up the man in front of him with a trace of scorn. He ridiculed, " You're only a measly Divine Sea Realm martial artist and you think you can be arrogant in front of me. Think twice before saying nonsense… or you'll make me angry."
