At this point, no one took Nero for granted any longer; it appeared that he had the strength to back up his challenge.
"Who's next!?" Nero coldly shouted.
Looking over at the Siel family tower, Makenna didn't look so good. His expression was grim and he seemed to be deep in thoughts. The martial artist he had sent out wasn't his strongest but he was among the top three, so if he was to send out another one then he had to choose wisely. If his family was to lose face here, then committing suicide wouldn't be enough to hide his shame. He had waltzed in here with pride thinking that he would be able to finish this battle in a matter of seconds, however, he was the one to suffer a loss, which caused him to be apprehensive in sending out the next one.
After about 2 minutes of delay, Makenna finally made a decision.
"Situ, go up and fight." He ordered.
Hearing this order, the one named Situ nodded and immediately jumped onto the stage.
"Isn't that Situ, the strongest young martial artist of the Siel family!?"
"It appears that the Siel family Grand patriarch doesn't want to lose face in this battle, but sending out Situ is too much!"
"Now that Situ is here, let's see if this foreigner will continue to be lofty."
Everyone at the arena had something to say when they saw the one named Situ jump onto the stage. Situ was an average-looking young man with cultivation at the Mid-stage Divine Sea Realm. However, after much screening, Nero could see that his spirit Qi was many times thicker than a martial artist at the same realm. In the martial world, the rules of cultivation were highly restrictive but not impossible to break. A martial artist being able to jump realms and fight was one of those rules, and although it wasn't impossible to attain, it was still quite formidable for one to have such abilities.
This Situ was at the Mid-stage Divine Sea Realm, but an average Late-stage Divine Sea Realm martial artist wasn't his match. His combat strength was impressive and when added to the might of his middle-class Mortal grade sword, his combat strength would yet again rise to a new level. As he stood a hundred feet away from Nero, his aura gradually accumulated like it was going to burst open at any moment.
Nero on the other hand remained calm while facing this aura; his face didn't show any expression whatsoever. Situ saw Nero's indifferent expression and slightly frowned; even if this wasn't his full ability, it would still cause one to feel a bit uncomfortable.
"If you're done acting like a clown then you can make your move." Nero blatantly said, not hiding the mockery in his tone. Situ heard this and his expression quickly changed; since when has he going all out made him a clown? Nero's voice was loud so everyone at the arena clearly heard every word as they bounced off the protective formations and echoed in their ears.
Since when did the roar of a tiger turn into a soothing lullaby for babies? This was an obvious slap in the face. Situ trembled as his anger seemed to have shot into the sky. He was enraged! Even though he wasn't much compared to those martial artists that came from the three kingdoms, he was still an established martial artist with many individual achievements. How could he possibly accept being mocked by a foreigner?
The elder official once again step onto the stage and announced the rules, "The rules are the same as before, and remember…. Killing is prohibited!"
As the elder official said the last part, he looked over to Nero, stressing each word. Nero completely disregarded him and focused on the battle.
"Begin!"
As the words fell, Nero naturally wouldn't be the first to make a move; he considered it bullying if he did. Situ on his end slowly unsheathed his sword and called out in an enraged tone.
"Foreigner! You dare insult me in this manner!? Don't think that because you easily defeated that wastrel that you can be haughty with me. I'll make you beg for death!"
Nero was naturally disinclined to hear such threats; the only thing he was interested in was the battle. As Situ unsheathed his sword, it burned with a brilliant red crimson flame that seemed to blind the eyes. It seemed he was a fire Qi essence attribute martial artist and his compatibility far surpassed Amaya. He roared and brandished the sword several times before rushing straight to Nero, aiming for his throat.
Nero saw this attack and a smirk spread across his face. He assumed a casual fighting stance, slightly parting his legs and standing firm like an immovable mountain! After this, he stood there waiting for the sword strike to reach him. Situ was already within range of attack and an attack at this range was impossible to dodge. Realizing this, Situ smiled sinisterly as he thought that this one sword strike of his would be the finishing blow for Nero. But, what he didn't know was that Nero never intended to dodge the attack in the first place!
The sword whistled as it cut through the air and quickly closed the gap separating from Nero's throat. Dust and tiny rocks were blown away by the strong wind, covering the stage in a cloud of dust and smoke. In an instant, the sword was already a few inches away from Nero's throat!
Peng!
A loud noise broke through the arena and pushed aside the cloud of dust, revealing an even more unbelievable scene. Nero clasped his hands together at the tip of the burning sword holding it in place!
The arena instantly turned into a madhouse; no one here could believe that such a thing would happen! Situ was left speechless as he stared in disbelief; this was highly impossible! This sword strike carried a heavy percentage of his power, and it was just casually clasped by Nero…
Ridiculous!
