Chapter 48 - Nero finally appears

Soon after the Siel family arrived, the Trenton family followed suit. The Trenton family were close allies with the Gandor kingdom but they weren't hindered from participating in the battle. The Trenton family was far stronger than the Siel family, so when they came, they annexed all the attention from the Siel family. Salazar might just be at the Early-stage Grand cultivation realm but his proficiency in martial arts was outstanding, hence at such a young age he directly rose to be the Grand patriarch of his family clan.

Apart from these two family clans, there was the Keon kingdom which was a few thousand miles west of the Gandor kingdom, a bit farther from the Gandor kingdom than the Trenton family was. Their Grand patriarch sat on a stone seat in one of the towers. His name was Hain and he was surprisingly at the Mid-stage Grand cultivation Realm! He had a prideful and arrogant expression which was normal for someone of his caliber; he was after all a State master of a strong force. His Keon kingdom couldn't be said to be enemies with the Gandor kingdom, but they weren't allies either. They remained neutral to the influence of the Gandor kingdom and never had conflicts with them. To Hain, his kingdom's participation in this battle was only due to curiosity as well as the tempting rewards that would be issued out.

However, laced within his arrogant expression was also worry. He wasn't present when the feast in honor of the return of the Princess was thrown, all he heard were rumors. Although he also came bearing gifts to the Princess for her safe return, he hadn't seen Nero. Even when he requested, he was turned down flat by Aito. This would be his first time seeing this fellow that dared to challenge the joint forces of four ruling powers!

The five towers all contained the forces of the five ruling powers. At the Gandor kingdom tower, Amaya sat on a stone seat, her countenance filled with prestige and an alluring charm, a beauty to behold. Beside her was Aito the Great Elder and beside him was the royal Prince Galen. But beside Amaya was an empty seat, this belonged to Nero. The battle was soon to start and he wasn't here yet!

Aito wasn't angered by this, nor was he nervous that Nero wouldn't show up. To him, Nero was a proud son of heaven who cared so much about his prestige. Aito couldn't quite explain why but with each passing day, his confidence in Nero grew bigger. However, this was only a feeling and there was a chance that it was false. In the true sense, Aito had only met Nero barely 30 days ago, and within this space of 30 days, Nero had been cultivating leaving no room for Aito to get to know him better.

As things had already gotten to this point, Aito wouldn't want to take chances with the face of the Gandor kingdom. He sent servants to call Nero, however, they all came back with a pained expression and some of them were even limping. When the servants had knocked on Nero's door, an unimaginable pressure suddenly pushed them away sending them flying backward. Amaya knew that this was Nero's way of telling them to back off, so she was a bit relieved, at least he hadn't run away. Aito couldn't hide his worried expression any longer, the battle would soon start and it was rude that they who had proposed the fight wasn't ready yet.

"Master, let me go fetch him." Galen suddenly spoke up.

Aito shook his head and sighed, "There's no need to do that, he might attack you too. If he needs more time to cultivate then we can only stall for a few more hours. Although the battle is about to begin, the Reinhart kingdom hasn't arrived yet…"

As Aito spoke he looked at a stone tower directly in front of the Gandor kingdom stone tower. This stone tower belonged to the second powerful ruling power… the Reinhart kingdom!

According to the map of the Western Earth kingdom, the Reinhart kingdom was due south of the Gandor kingdom, passing directly through the Rhediaia forest to get there. The enmity between the Reinhart kingdom and the Gandor kingdom was no hidden matter, and it was obvious that they wanted to wipe each other from the map. However, the Reinhart kingdom compared to the Gandor kingdom was still lacking in both resources and manpower. If the two were to wage war against themselves, the Gandor kingdom would undoubtedly win, and what it would cost them would only be second to what they lost in their battle with the Black Dragon squad many years ago.

After the great war between the Gandor kingdom and the Black Dragon squad, both forces had drastically declined, leaving them in a worse state compared to what they were before. The Reinhart kingdom was the second kingdom to be established in the Western Earth kingdom. Seeing that the Gandor kingdom had suffered losses after the war, the Reinhart kingdom tried countless times to annex the Gandor kingdom. But the inheritance of the Gandor kingdom far surpassed what they could imagine, which led to them failing in the end. After their continuous failure to annex the Gandor kingdom, the Reinhart kingdom was finally suppressed and they withdrew their forces, but they would still have some occasional conflicts with them.

Today would undoubtedly be the perfect opportunity to display their strength before everyone. In truth, the reason why Aito was a little worried was because of the Reinhart kingdom; they wouldn't spare any expense to bring down their rivals. With their history of conflicts with the Gandor kingdom, it would be indeed surprising if the Reinhart kingdom didn't have anything in store for them. As Aito thought this, he grew warier. At this point, he was putting his trust in the hands of a stranger who had a tendency of double-crossing them at any given time, which would be understandable if that was the case. After all, Nero didn't belong to the Gandor kingdom and Aito wasn't naïve enough to think that he would be able to win Nero over with mere promises.

Two hours had passed and both Nero and the Reinhart kingdom martial artists had not appeared. This caused Aito a great deal of uneasiness. He sent out more servants to call Nero out but the result was the same, they came back in a terrible state. Aito fell into deep thoughts; he decided to make a move himself. Just then, the crowd suddenly lost all decorum and went into an uproar. At the entrance of the arena, a young man dressed in a neat blue robe casually strolled into the arena, his brown hair packed upwards while leaving some to fall on his shoulders. This young man was none other than Nero!
