The Master was undoubtedly Nero. From the time they returned till now, four days had passed and Nero had been cultivating, strictly warning not to be disturbed. But now that things had gotten to this point, they had no other choice than to wake him up. The assistant instantly displayed an unwilling expression. Not that he didn't want to go but he didn't know how Nero would react. When Nero first came here, he had given similar instructions not to be disturbed. In a case where he was disturbed, a thick pressure would surge from his room pushing back anyone who dared to disturb him. The only one who was spared was the old man and that was by a slim chance.
Seeing the unwilling expression of his assistant, the old man sighed and decided to do it himself. Reaching Nero's room, the old man was just about to knock on the door when a cold voice echoed out from behind it.
"What do you want!"
"M- Master, the Double winged eagles from the Capital City are heading towards our village, they seem to be here to pick up the Princess."
"And?..." Nero asked impatiently.
"And we thought to inform you since you're the one who brought her here." The old man said, a bit frightened by Nero's intimidating voice.
After a few seconds of silence, Nero replied, "I'll be right there."
Hearing Nero say this, the old man heaved a sigh of relief; he had survived after interrupting this monster's cultivation. The old man quickly ran downstairs and spread the news. A few moments later Amaya came downstairs was about to leave the tavern.
"And where do you think you're going?" Nero's voice called out. Behind her, Nero slowly walked down the stairs.
"If you're here then you must have known already. Double winged eagles from the Capital City are here to take me back." Amaya replied.
"What if those Double winged eagles don't belong to your Capital City and all of this is a trap to abduct you again? What happens then?" Nero asked again.
This question was important to answer. Double winged eagles are exotic and likewise expensive flight beasts with incredible speed. Their young ones have the strength equivalent to a human martial artist at the Foundation Establishment Realm and their adults can grow to be as strong as a Grand cultivation Realm expert. This beast indeed represented the martial artists of the Capital City, but according to Nero's question, what if this time around it didn't.
The Double winged eagle might represent martial artists from the Capital City but in a general sense, anybody can own one if they have the resources to acquire it; there were no restrictions to having one for a personal mount. The only reason why most people first thought of the Capital City when they saw this beast was that the Gandor kingdom was the strongest of all five top powerhouses of the Western Earth Kingdom dating back to hundreds or even thousands of years ago. The resources accumulated by them were more than enough to get them this much Double winged eagles which can be considered decent wealth. Even with this general knowledge, Nero's question still hit a spot that no one had ever thought of.
Amaya paused for some time before revealing a smile, "If you're so worried then why don't you follow me? Our deal did say that you have to make sure that I get home safe, and if you're having doubts then you'll have to follow me to make sure that I return safely."
Amaya's reply instantly stunned everyone but Nero's follow-up answer left everyone speechless.
"Alright fine. If that is our deal then I'll keep to it."
Turning to the old man, Nero said as he tossed over a satchel, "This is for all our expenses, take what you want and do whatever you like with the rest. Take care, old man."
Nero's last words struck the old man like lightning. Not only was the Princess leaving but now their master was to join her? This day can only be described as unlucky for them. Without giving room for any conversation whatsoever Nero took Amaya and left the tavern.
Outside the gates of the village, four blurry images gradually formed high above in the sky. With time, they started to take a definite form, and very soon the clear sight of the double-winged eagle came into sight. There were three martial artists on each double-winged eagle except the fourth one which was vacant. These martial artists all had the Foundation Establishment Realm cultivation and they all wore golden armor with an eagle crest on the chest. The legacy of the Gandor kingdom was undoubtedly related to the double-winged eagle but only a few people knew the story behind it.
Amaya clenched her fists. Not that she was afraid or anything like that, but she was trying so hard to control her joy; she was finally going home! After spending half a year in the hands of a maniac, she was finally on her way home, and she didn't need to worry about anything because she knew that Nero would do anything to keep his end of the deal.
Nero stood there with an indifferent expression and his hand behind his back as usual. With the guards having a cultivation of the Foundation Establishment Realm, he didn't need to worry about anything, he could easily kill them all in one fell swoop. Even the exotic double-winged eagles didn't faze him, to say the least. Nero carefully analyzed his surroundings in case of any unfamiliar changes.
The double-winged eagles finally landed and everyone got down. Their Spirit Qi was surprisingly denser than that of an average martial artist. The armor they wore became more vivid and the power contained within unconsciously made one palpitate. These martial artists were a special guard unit specially for the royal family. This was why they were sent here to bring back the Princess.
"Princess!" As they saw Amaya, they quickly lowered their heads.
"Princess, we are here to take you back." The one who spoke seemed to be a young man slightly below middle age. He had the highest cultivation at the late-stage Foundation Establishment Realm and was undoubtedly the one in charge.
