Chapter 37 - The Princess had returned!

Hearing that she was about to be brought home, Amaya could no longer contain her happiness. A few teardrops leaked out from her eyes but she quickly restrained herself.

"Tavi! Did my brother send you?"

"No Royal Princess, it was the Great Elder who sent me." The captain of the guards was named Tavi.

Tavi turned to Nero and asked, " Royal Princess who is he?" Apparently, they hadn't noticed Nero until now.

"He is an esteemed guest of mine and he'll be returning to the Capital City with me." Amaya gave a brief explanation.

"But we brought only an extra eagle for you to ride on."

"Then I guess he'll ride with me."

This instantly stunned Tavi and everyone else. Just who was he to be an esteemed guest of the Royal Princess? Nero remained indifferent as usual. Amaya tugged on his sleeves and pulled him to an eagle jumping on it. The guards who were left speechless had to carry themselves as they jumped on their eagles and rode in utter confusion alongside Amaya and her 'esteemed' guest. Like this, Amaya and Nero rose hundreds of feet in the air and dashed straight for the Capital City. With time, the small village of mortals shrunk and blurred, and very soon it disappeared.

It takes only a day and a half to travel from the mortal village to the Capital City on the double-winged eagle. A day and a half later, the towering structures of the Capital City appeared on the horizon. Amaya stood atop the double-winged eagle with a complicated yet happy expression on her face; she was happy to be back home. Nero on the other hand sat down cross-legged meditating. He has been in that position ever since they left the mortal village. Amaya tried to call his attention but stopped midway in fear of interrupting his cultivation. However, as she thought this, Nero's clear voice suddenly sounded in her ears.

"Have we arrived?"

"Yes, but it will take a few more minutes to get there," Amaya replied.

Hearing that they still had some time left before getting to their destination, Nero closed back his eyes and resumed his meditation. Amaya didn't know what to make of Nero's fervent cultivation and she didn't bother to ask; some things are just better left unsaid.

The clarion cries of the double-winged eagles echoed out above the skies of the Capital City. Seeing this, everyone knew that the Capital City guards are involved but didn't have a clue of what they were doing. Nero looked down at the bustling city and the people within trying to make a living for themselves.

Everyone here were undoubtedly martial artists but most of them were the Qi essence gathering Realm and more out of some had unstable foundations. There were antique stores, alchemy stores and so much more, this place can truly be considered the heart of the Gandor kingdom! Just ahead was a secluded area where dozens of mountain ranges were interlinked with a formation and protected by a powerful barrier. This was the State Master's villa! It stretched for many miles covering large swathes of land. High above the sky of the State Master's villa, the double-winged eagles hovered at a place like they were waiting for something.

In the next moment, the protective barrier that covered the entire State Master's villa slightly trembled and the area directly below eagles gradually split apart forming a demarcation that spread out. This demarcation spread out till it was enough for the eagles to freely fly through. The eagles slowly and gradually descended into the State Master's villa directly above a square. By this time, the entire square was packed with people. Guards, servants, and so on, everyone came out to know what the commotion was all about and to know… if it was true!

A few days ago a rumor spread throughout the State Master's villa that the Princess had been found and had found a way to contact the royal transmission orb! The royal transmission orb is an orb that is specially made for the royal family and only they know how to access it. Knowing that the Princess was able to directly contact this special orb made people believe the rumors a bit.

However, it could also be another trap set by the Black Dragon squad to toy with the Gandor kingdom again. Although everyone thought this, they still hoped that she had returned in truth. Amaya might be a Princess but she wasn't one to be arrogant, hence why everyone felt a deep heartache when she was abducted. The dust had been swept up by the eagles causing an upheaval of dust to occur. A few moments after the dust had settled, a few figures flashed and jumped down the double-winged eagles. The special guards of the Capital City stood in front; a total of nine. Whereas a fair lady of ethereal temperament stood behind them, this was Amaya and behind her was Nero.

Seeing Amaya jump down the eagle, everyone had their breaths caught in their throats… the rumors were true! The Princess had returned! Everyone was overjoyed especially the female servants, they all clustered around her without giving space to wiggle. Nero was pushed aside by the crowd but he didn't mind. Amaya might be a Princess but she wasn't one of the arrogant ones. When they were at the mortal village, Amaya had won the hearts of everyone there, seeing this scene, Nero wasn't surprised.

During the heat of excitement, a voice suddenly called out.

"Is that truly my sister?"

This voice was mellow and soft to the ear. But although it was mellow and soft to the ear, it still couldn't hide the loftiness behind it. Hearing this voice, Amaya's face instantly turned ugly. In front of her was a loftily dressed young man in blue robes. His black hair was neatly arranged and pinned upwards while the rest draped down his shoulders. This was the royal Prince… Prince Galen!
