Chapter 237 - Ruler's Judgement

Back in the castle of the Preeliance, there was a gathering in what seems to be a large hall that resembles a court room. This was normally used when there are hearings and arguments during the development to resolve certain issues. Criminal cases in Preeliance are very little, and don't normally use the courtroom as it was mostly impossible to hide a criminal's trace with the tools the Knight Order, Sentinel Order, and the Guardian Order used... But today, was a case of judging on what will happen to the heroes. Pantheon and Claude weren't really in trouble, as they had no idea about the council, but Ulysses was the one that's currently being judged.

The ministers of Quisterion, felt completely betrayed, as they loudly expressed their opinions to condemn him. With Oswald joining him however, and the royal family of Quisterion present, they couldn't overrule with just their voices. Specially now that Serkyrio was the one seated as the judge, which signifies the importance of the hearing since it was mostly Arlesk who takes that role.

Ulysses and Oswald had already stated their case, which the ministers of their country would mostly see as a betrayal to the royal family. But seeing that the King of Quisterion himself pleaded along with his son and the former hero of his country, they couldn't practically just resent them outright as it would also compromise their position if the verdict was favored towards the royal family. On the side of Preeliance, all members pretty much understood the situation, as they know that selfishness to protect those around is a common trait that most personalities inhibit.

"Now for the verdict..." Remuel was the one that acted as the court reporter, clerk, and bailiff for the trial, since he has some degree of understanding in law back in Earth.

"Oswald Faleo Quisterion, not guilty. Ulysses Held, not guilty." There were sighs of relief from some ministers of Quisterion, as they wanted to keep the hold of the alliance to the Preeliance. Even if Olivia was already engaged and effectively married to Draxus, they were nervous that there might be cracks in the alliance with the incident. However, Olivia, who was already told what was about to happen by Draxus, didn't feel nervous.

"However..." Remuel interjected, as he read out the additional notes which seemed to be not part of the usual court cases he observed. He glanced over to Serkyrio asking for confirmation, to which he nodded without a word. "For the actions of causing potential distrust, and for the conviction of giving up your statuses as heroes, Ulysses Held, along with Pantheon Eroe, and Claude Ying will be transferred to the Order of the Brilliant Guardians and will be working under Arlesk Finlay Alicanto..." Remuel was slightly confused as the last name was quite different from what he remembered. Arlesk, who was standing on the defendant side had a troubled smile.

As the verdict has been handed, the trial was dismissed soon after. The three former heroes, met up with Arlesk to discuss what would happen now. They found him on the Hall of Guardians discussing something with Remuel.

"Arlesk, I thought you'd keep the Yatagarasu as your last name, the hell happened?" "Well I found it somewhat cringy now that I really thought about it. So I decided to ask Serkyrio some time ago to change it." Arlesk looked much better now after having a new conviction after learning more with the three former heroes. "Arlesk..." Ulysses came up to Arlesk slowly as he was still feeling quite guilty. Arlesk turned and simply smiled. "I know, we can already tell that you don't want to further betray us. So for now, let's start with a full tour of the Hall of Guardians."

Remuel left them to their own accord as Arlesk had decided to guide them around. After pretty much guiding them through all the rooms, they were led to the dormitories. Where most personal rooms were around. "Now here are the personal rooms, each of you has one room you could use from now on. The rules are quite simple just don't cause too much trouble or damage in the premises." The three former heroes, understood the assignment, and thus they were fully introduced when it was time for dinner.

In Serkyrio's office, Jess raised a question regarding Arlesk's conviction. "Serkyrio, what do you think about their decision to withhold the information about the council's deal?" Serkyrio continued to read through the paperwork while answering her questions. "Well nothing could be hidden away from me anyways, so I don't really mind. But Arlesk is Creation's proxy after all, he lives to trust those who his principle had created. So he would feel a little hurt, but it's not the end of the world." "Then, what about what will happen to Draxus from the plans you realized?" "This one is a bit tough... Because either way, Draxus will be fighting that amalgamation and fail. He will fail, and try again, repeatedly until he finds the correct solution. He protects one, but another will be dragged into the enemy base. We would be attacking the other fronts where the council, the devil warpers, and the devourers appear." "But the attack will only happen once right? How would Draxus be able to restart and try again...? Wait... You don't mean?" "Yes, even with two souls active right now, he would need two more to fully be able to defeat that amalgamation... He is the fool who will not relent until he succeeds." Serkyrio smiled as he stopped signing a paper. "After all, he is not just the Prime Existence of this universe... But also lived seven lives to their deaths... With this life being the last survivor... His souls will be restored, and then this universe will once again be restored to its origins..." Serkyrio paused for a moment as he materialized something in his hands, a pocket dimension that seemed to look like nothing but traces of magic organized well. "The damage to the Para-Elemental Plane will be repaired at the end of our experiment as the Principles." Jess smiled, as she now fully understood what will happen. "Well if everything ends well I'd be glad, all of you are technically immortal then?" "Yes, would you like to be immortal?" Jess shook her head sideways slowly. "There's no need, I simply would just prefer to appreciate my short life." Serkyrio continued to read through the stack of papers on his desk swiftly while Jess left to send some documents towards the other Archons.
