With the arrival of the other heroes, Arlesk telepathically gave orders to each of them while firing attacks to the three harbingers. With lasers firing from all sides, they were all forced to miss due to uncertainty. "One can fiddle with fate, one seems to resemble the report about Unknown, and the last may have something to do with death. There seems to be no similarity around them." Arlesk started to think about their identities as he creates smoke with the explosion of the floor. The three harbingers had not moved since the fight began, but he can sense pressure of death that once they move, they will be in trouble.
With a shout, Ulysses attacks right after activating his card. Striking the harbinger resembling death, only to be waved off by hand by the one that can fiddle fate. When death attempted to make a counterattack, Pantheon moved in to parry with his shield rivalling Draxus's guarding magic. This resulted with the shield starting to crack in that instant, surprising Pantheon of all people, but he didn't waver and pushed away the scythe and made a counterattack with his broadsword, which was also waved off by the same person who averted Ulysses's glaive. In that timing, Claude had moved behind their defense and unleashed lasers copying Arlesk's weapons. However, those lasers were somehow deflected as they bent to an entirely different direction, to which are the same as Arlesk unleashed some bullets at the same time as Claude firing his lasers.
With such display of defense, they realized that they can't do anything against these enemies. Thus Arlesk had to start thinking.
"To think that all of you are unable to reach us... We had expected much more... But unfortuna-" Arlesk closed in in that instant and attacked by attempting to absorb the harbinger's mana and energy, but his absorption arm was diverted easily with two hands. Arlesk took that opportunity to hold both hands and point the nuzzle on his right arm directly on the harbinger's chest. "Are you even confident enough that your attack will hit?" The three heroes made their move to distract Unknown and the other harbinger as Arlesk smiled to the enemy's response. "If I can't hit you, then I'll just close out all possibilities of fate then." He charged his attack for a full explosion underground, risking a cave-in, but before he could fire, he was forcefully distracted by Unknown using force and death attacking with his scythe from the side. This forced Arlesk to shoot with an incomplete charge, which did nothing but reveal a hexagonal barrier protecting the enemy he pointed his cannon to. "Tch... Unhinged defenses huh...?" "To be honest, that was good plan, but it is unfortunate that it is not good enough." "Then, how about this."
He relayed this quick plan to the heroes and then blew up the floor and ceiling. This caused the enemies as Arlesk had the three heroes move towards one side of the room, while he chose a different side. The same case went for the enemies, as he forcibly split them off with the rubble in the middle of the room. But now, he split off the battle evenly, fighting with Unknown and the defensive oriented one while the heroes fight with the aura of death.
"So you separate us? Do you have any idea how it that makes it easier for us?" "Well, it also makes it easier for us." The research area is wide, but Arlesk had somewhat started to understand the unknown force Unknown has been using. She moved behind one of his enemies so she can act properly to support the advance of her ally. "No matter how much you attack, you will never be able to land anything." "Ahh! So repetitive, I just have to keep going until I can!" "Don't even forget about me here! [Scatter]!" As Unknown used a scatterbomb, Arlesk took that chance to absorb as much energy. He quickly understood the strategy to deal with them.
[If Unknown attacks with something else other then force, control, or intangible attacks, absorb. And use the absorbed energy will be used to continue fighting]. Despite the fact that Unknown can learn that anything tangible will just be absorbed, he focused on how he should absorb the intangible attacks, rendering her useless.
On the other side...
"Ghh!" Pantheon continued to block the scythe which was starting to take a massive toll on his shield. The more times he blocks an attack, the lesser defense they will have on the long run. Ulysses knew that and continued to counterattack more, but all of his attacks so far have been dodged. Claude took the time to support both of them, and was the only one landing hits as of the moment, but most landed attacks were grazes.
"This is such a bad stalemate... To think enemies like these actually exist here, just a year ago, I thought hero spirits make the humans they possess the strongest!" Pantheon complained as he tried forcing an attack to the enemy, to which was dodged. He was followed up by Ulysses who actually managed to land a clean stab, but was not deep enough to be fatal, and didn't land in a vital spot. "We can't really do anything about it, even I was shocked since I first fought Draxus!" "You guys really have the guts to talk in this fight, we really need a lot more ground here!" "On it!" They managed to push and set their enemy into a corner, to which Pantheon took the chance to erase any ground left that their enemy had by pushing forward with his shield up. Their enemy dodged to the side to which Pantheon made use of his shield to bash him. This surprised the harbinger which led to Ulysses making a follow-up. But instead of attacking the harbinger directly, he attacked the side he was planning to escape from, forcing the harbinger to stop on his tracks instead of using the momentum. With him stopping in place, Claude was preparing to launch an attack when Arlesk was suddenly launched through the wall separating them, forcing Claude to cancel or end it with friendly fire. "Arlesk!"
Claude cancelled his attack and quickly rushed to Arlesk before he falls into the death pit, as Arlesk was unconscious, and bleeding all over, and his divinity being disabled, the three heroes realized that they're in great trouble. Ulysses and Pantheon tried to attack the enemy between them, but he dodged and regrouped quickly with the other two. They now realize that they're in a situation that spells death no matter what they plan on doing. They moved towards Arlesk as Ulysses remembered something. "Arlesk has resurgence with memory awakening, that might be it." "Stalling those three?! This is crazy!" "Yes, but it's our only chance." "AH!! Screw it! We do this to the bitter end then!" Pantheon moved to the front and halted their advance. This time, he's doing something that he's masterful at, preventing the enemy from advancing. "Claude! Support Pantheon as much as you can!" "Got it!" "Arlesk!" Ulysses starting shaking Arlesk's body and started to treat his injuries. "Arlesk you gotta wake up man!" Just as he shook him, Arlesk started to wake up. "Just... What... Happened...?" "Tch, his memories are jumbled too, Pantheon, we need you to hold out for a while longer. Thirty seconds is enough!" "Got it!" "Don't worry about what happened while you're out Arlesk, we need you back in shape as soon as possible. We can't fail Emperor Serkyrio here!" "Shit, last thing I remember is... Three Harbingers right...? Aight, I got full analysis ready. Let's shut them down for good." "While unconscious? Don't tell me you-?" "If I remember correctly, I used the brink of death to unlock a segment of my memories. I now know their tricks, so get back in formation." Arlesk stood up and started dissolving the devouring patches that was applied to him. "Unknown has some of the nastiest attacks... To think she has divinity as well... [Identify]!" "[Three signatures matching the beings: [Harbinger of Death], [Harbinger of Unknown], and [Harbinger of Uncertainty]." "Three troublesome opponents then. Alright, let's get this party started with some lights!" Arlesk, who charged everything with no divinity but pure mana, blasted the room with color, changing everything in the walls, floor, and ceiling into pure white.
