Chereads / Isekai: The Eight Soul Fragments / Chapter 211 - Lunarians

Chapter 211 - Lunarians

"This should be far enough..." Viceroy had travelled far enough for nobody to take notice him creating a portal. But before he transported himself to the Lunarian zone, he decided to take a bit of rest for the time being. He regathered the information that he collected from the Solarians, and immediately made a report. As he had checked, Draxus didn't have much time available as he was busy dealing with Jevil's issues. He considered the fact that Draxus won't be able to catch a break easily and decided to hold off sending the report that he had made for the time being.

"So the line connected with the shrine maiden huh...? It seems that another harem member that's royal joins up." Monologuing around while prepping his food, Viceroy started thinking loudly about Draxus's harem. "It's basically all but one royal at this point... I'm rather surprised that we haven't encountered a rotten royal yet." He had realized that the royals that he had met through guarding the meets were somewhat reasonable royals. They would act shrewd at times, but they have yet to display undesirable character. "Maybe it's just because our Emperor can just end their countries..." He closed the thought monologue and decided to ultimately leave the thoughts be. With his thoughts wandering around about the power of Preeliance over other countries, Viceroy finished up his cooking and prepared to head towards the Lunar cities.

With a swift portal, he quickly arrived to the outskirts of a Lunar town. When he entered the city, he was easily allowed entry and given proper welcomes, which was entirely different from how Solarians behave. However, when the citizens saw Viceroy, they started to look slightly judgmental towards him. "This is quite a reception... I guess it's exclusive to guards mostly?" He looked around the city which looked small, but has quite a festive atmosphere.

He went towards an inn to stay for the day. He arrived quite late, and the sun was starting to set as he entered. He was welcomed warmly by the inn, so he managed to quickly book a room.

"The place is quite festive today, is there something going on?" "Ah you must be a traveler?" Viceroy nodded to the innkeeper's question. A young lady who was somewhat interested as Viceroy looked somewhat rich for a peddler. "The Lunar Royals come to visit around once a year to each city. They stays for about two or three days within the twelve cities and celebrations happen upon their visit. The royals have already arrived here just today and are currently staying at the mayor's manor for the next day and a half." "So the royalty moving about huh...? The complete opposite of..." Viceroy shrugged off the monologue before spilling it out. He changed it to a question about the location to which he received an answer because he was assumed to be just curious.

Later in the night, he donned his covert ops equipment and left the inn by creating a portal on the roof. He then jumped from building to building until he arrived to the manor.

"Assuming Draxus's harem is pretty much royalty, I may as well check if there are any princesses around..." He navigated around the halls without getting detected, his stealth capabilities aren't quite on the same level as Jay Fenrir, but it was enough for him to infiltrate the manor.

He wore the glasses that Serkyrio lent to him, and he immediately took notice of a line. A brown line passed through right in front of Viceroy, it was faint, but it was evidently a magic line connecting somewhere. "This line connects to Draxus... No doubt about it..." He followed the line with his sight as his vision due to his glassed having a function that allows him to see through the walls of the building. If he knew of this earlier he wouldn't have had to infiltrate, but he simply shrugged that thought off and took a look at the target. He was at a distance so he only got the rough characteristics such as the hair color and the physique. She seemed to be less of a teen and more to be of the same age with Draxus. He wrote down the report and immediately retreated back to the inn. He knew that using magic right now would cause an alert, so he sneakily distanced himself from the manor before taking his leave.

"How should I approach this..." He pondered about how to approach the situation. It was something that he had pretty much lacking an answer for. He's not the most confident in speaking with unknown people for diplomacy, nor any kind of governmental work. He could however ask help from Draxus, but it would clog his schedule. He thought about it for a while and simply decided to just ask for help from Draxus.

It was right about the end of Jevil's mission as Viceroy contacted Draxus. After hearing the phone ring a couple times, he quickly stated what he needed. "Uhh Drax, I may need some diplomacy assistance here..." Eerie silence only passed through for short moment, but there was eventually a response. "I guess it's kinda expected... I'll come to your location tomorrow, we just had a really tough battle..." "A battle? Did something happen during the mission?" "The country of Helvetum had a base for [People of Earth] and [Council of the Skies], so we had to get rid of that. I had to use [Hanged Man Reversed] just so the local powers of the country can keep up." "Sounds really tough... But did you perhaps meet the royal or leaders of that country?" "Yep, we'll have everything sorted after a week. They ultimately agreed to join the alliance after having them witness a battle directly." Learning the fact that even heroes cannot fight and win against the council on their own, Viceroy had somewhat understood the level of seriousness in the upcoming battles. "Considering that you need help too, I may as well, we need to finish this in less than a week however." "Got it. See you tomorrow." "Aight." The call was then cut off as Viceroy now at least doesn't have to worry about diplomacy for the time being.
