Chapter 182 - Dwellers of an Alternate Realm

"You may refer to me as the queen of the Fae Realm, the center of this sanctuary." The Fae Queen introduced herself to Audrey politely. This prompted some others to bow lightly to follow which had a bit of a mix towards how they felt. Some others felt forced and wanted Audrey to kneel in behest of the Fae Queen's words. "Audrey Fairchild. I am not from the realm that your kind had escaped from, but I am from an entirely different world. I currently live in a castle to work as one of the [Sentinels] of the country I live in." Audrey hid a bit more of the truth for the time being as she didn't really want to be ousted immediately. "I see, then may I inquire about the state of the outside realm?" Audrey nodded to the Fae Queen's question, she quickly explained how the world is currently going well aside from the direct interference by the council and the farlands. "So the world peace has gone too far enough that the council and the farlands have made a move... What about the depths?" "The depths?" Audrey was confused as to why the depths were mentioned. "Does that mean, the depths have yet to make their move huh...? This won't be simple, but it may be better if we discuss this in the great tree in detail." "Uhh... Sure...?" Audrey was slightly confused as she wasn't given any answers yet.

Audrey followed the Fae Queen along with some guards that looked quite powerful in close combat. Knowing her current capabilities, she won't be able to stand a chance against even average people in combat without magic. "Before we arrive, I would like to know more about this realm." Audrey continued to speak with the Fae Queen with a casual tone while doing a little something in secret. "This realm is created by our ancestors, it was made as a sanctuary for mixed races such as beastmen, elves, dark elves, fairies, and many more to live a harmonious life away from the manipulated pure humans." "Manipulated?" "Yes, all humans are always controlled by heroes. The heroes are also controlled, by the council. Us who are directly created by another god." "You know of gods?" "Yes, the evil [God of Dominion] is well revered by the humans of the outside realm. But we glorify the god that had created us to ensure equality over the world." Audrey could only let out a dry smile as she seemed to have recognize the word [Equality]. "We currently await for the [God of Equivalence]'s return for us to be able to serve him fully once more." Audrey looked away since she knew of the current identity of the [God of Equivalence]. She thought to herself some things: "So he is involved huh...? Then I guess I should try to know more things about this world, specially since I have yet to see too many non-humans aside from the guildmaster. "Pretty sure that we have a Seamare... And that's about it..." Audrey accidentally let her voice out which was easily captured in the Fae Queen's ears. "The Seamare race survived the apocalypse? That's quite a relief." Audrey couldn't really make an excuse anymore as she had slipped up some information about the outside realm.

"What a nice city..." Audrey smiled as she cast her gaze on the bustling city that's filled with various races. "It seems like there's no sort of racism here. That's relieving." Audrey stepped forward in a little bit of excitement, but after taking that step into the city, she felt like everybody was now watching her. She prepared her magic immediately as if preparing for an all-sided attack, but she was soothingly stopped by the Fae Queen. "Do not worry, they're just curious as to how a human managed to arrive to this realm. Besides, you seem to have both the talent and the power to become something more than what you currently are." "Then, is it alright if I wander around for the time being? I'd like to familiarize myself with the realm for the time being." A couple hours had passed before their arrival to the central city. Thus Audrey wanted to take a bit of time to relax herself from the trip.

She never got herself in trouble for being a human, but the people in the city were somewhat wary of her existence. They didn't hold any ill will, but they were somewhat scared of incurring her wrath. Needless to say, they were relieved when a guard came to escort her up the tree for the formal greeting this time.

"So I have some time to prepare for the greeting, I don't really wanna dress up with something formal so I'll go with my usual clothes." Audrey was led into a room that has a bit of a homely treehouse feel to it. She didn't really feel bothered as she knew that this is the highest bit of luxury a person of non-human race could feel. She then began to recollect some info that she had gathered.

"First things first... Notepad..." Audrey began typing down what she remembered. "According to the guard, they were originally called as [Sub-Human]. They seemed bothered by the term so it was changed into [Demi-Human]. It's the same meaning, but at the very least it doesn't sound domineering... Now, there are about twenty or more races in this. The only races that actually have an elder are elves, dragonkin, foxkin, tiger beastkin..." Audrey continued to list other types of demi-humans to her notes. "To think that they all evacuated into this realm though... It sounds kind of sad as they were pretty much going to be hunted at that point." It didn't make full sense, as to why people would become completely obsessed with hunting or enslaving demi-humans. But due to their difference in either physical strength, or magical capabilities, they were seen by various empires in the path as a useful tool. "There's also the missing fragments of history... Though, I wonder about that now..." Audrey began to ponder about some missing fragments in the world history. Though they already have a massive lead as to where the parts of these missing bits of history moved around, this led her to one thing. "There may be an enemy, capable of changing history..." "Miss Audrey Fairchild, you are being called to the grand chamber of elders." "Oh? Time already, alright then." Audrey stretched herself a bit before going further up with the guard escort to meet the elders of the Fae realm.
