The next day, Keith and Layla went to the [Sentinel Hall] in search for Wesley. "Wesley, you around?" The two of them had already finished their preparation and stored the less important things in the [Interdimensional Storage], they took their time to look for Wesley as they didn't seem to be in a rush. "Oh? Keith? And Layla? Ah it's time for you two to go teleport right? Hold on." Wesley was speaking with the Sentinel recruits who messed up in the training ground. "Alright you two, I know that you guys are motivated to train but, don't use any bit of destructive magic in the area. You guys are lucky that Draxus is in his vacation, but if he caught wind of this, he would've forced you to kneel while carrying a block of cement on your lap for an hour. For the time being, just go fix what you two made at the training ground aight?" Wesley temporarily dismissed the two of them to clean up their own mess.
"Alright..." Wesley placed his hands on the shoulders of Keith and Layla and concentrated a little. "You might wanna close your eyes cause a sudden swap could make a person vomit." With a short warning, he gave them time to close their eyes before he made the swap to another shadow right at the border city of Aquila. They landed outside the city to avoid any suspicion. "Good luck you two." Wesley let go of both of them and swapped back to the shadow that appeared in Preeliance. Keith and Layla opened their eyes to Wesley wishing them luck and only saw a shadow figure in the forest. The shadow moved to sit down on a branch of a large tree to avoid catching the attention of others. "After seeing that they've arrived, Keith immediately used spirit magic to detect any presences. Layla followed up by checking with her magic to detect any possible monster attacks that she could prevent. "We're safe, I'll put a landmark here on the tree in case we need a forced retreat." Layla considered all possibilities while Keith had opened up the map to check their location. "A city is nearby, so we should check it out immediately." Keith was thinking deeply on how to route their plan for vacation. Layla, who noticed that Keith was a little too stiff, decided to pull his arm as she started running. "It's no use going to vacation with a serious expression you know? We should just loosen up for the time while we're here." Upon seeing her smile, Keith had decided to simply just relax on their trip as they went towards the city.
"Identification." A guard stood to stop them and ask for the identification of the visitors, Keith felt like this may be a bit too strict but he simply showed his guild card. "Keith Nagual... Silver rank?" The guard narrowed his eyes as he looked slightly confused as to why someone as young as Keith is a silver rank adventurer. "Wait Keith, you're silver rank?" Layla had the same opinion as to how quickly Keith managed to get into a high rank. "Well, I recently haven't been able to work on guild quests, so I haven't managed to rise up even further as of now." The guard allowed them to enter the city, to which they started talking about adventuring later on. "For the time being, how about buying from various stalls, we got like a few platinum coins in total, so we have some money to spare our expenses." Layla seemed surprised as to how much money they currently have and realized that Keith had been on two major missions so far. "You only had two high-risk missions right?" Keith nodded and went into a bit more detail as how the missions went. "One was a mission about hunting certain targets, the second one was a compulsory mission because of the invasion. I nearly died that time, but kudos to Wesley's planning." He explained the mission where he nearly died, since it was the mission where they fought Draxus who was possessed by the [Destroyer], they were greatly rewarded by Serkyrio for being able to pull off something that normally required [Archons] to succeed. "Basically, we pulled off an impossible feat. Crazy right?" Layla facepalmed as she was quite worried of the aftermath of that battle. She did remember seeing Keith healed up by Serkyrio upon their return to the Preeliance castle. "Whatever crazy ideas you may have later, please at least never forget that I'm waiting for you to return home." Keith looked away apologetically after hearing what Layla said, he felt guilty about being too reckless in his actions against the [Destroyer].
After exploring a bit, the two of them sat down on the central plaza of the city. They had bought various food from the stalls and have enjoyed their lunch there. Keith was thinking about what to do next and decided that the two of them check out what the country has.
The two arrived to an inn and paid for a single room to stay on. They then went to the room and organized the stuff that they will be using. "We're staying here for three days, so we need to get some info about this country since we don't really know much yet." Layla handled the basic payments and necessary things such as talking to the innkeeper. They went off to explore the city a bit more which made Keith completely wary about something. And thus, at night, he decided to stay up for the time being while Layla slept early.
Keith stayed awake and stood by inside the room in the dark, he was focusing on both eliminating his presence, and detecting people that are coming into the inn. "So they decided to commit huh...? Alright then. [Chronopause]." Keith stopped time and went downstairs to locate for the few men that came around. He brought them outside and tied them up while time was still completely stopped.
"I used to be only able to stop time for about twenty seconds maximum, but with an Archon training me, I am of course, able to refine it to a full minute." Keith had gotten rid of his lax view and had easily apprehended the men. He brought out a flashlight and took a close look at their faces. "The exact same men that were jealous because I was enjoying my time with Layla eh..." Keith used the spirit of time once again to stop the flow of time, but this time, he moved the men one by one into the central plaza, still tied up, gagged, and completely restrained by rope and left a sign saying: "We attempted to barge into an inn at midnight for attempted rape."
"And that should be done, all I have to do is wait for morning and news about these guys... But before that though..." Keith brought out his main weapon, a sickle and chain named [Death Trap] and showed how dangerous it is to fight against him. "Alright men, I'll have you know that what you attempted to do is something that's straight up unforgivable, but as a kind and religious person, I've decided to forgive you guys." He flung around the sickle and chain to show how much he has been trained to kill his targets, and after giving them a glimpse of the sickle that looked painfully sharp, a great despair covered the faces of the men. "The next time you do it though, I'll straight up kill you. Understand?" Seeing as how dangerous dealing with him could become, specially with the ability to control spirits, time, space, and various elements, the men shook their heads into a nod as if understanding his power. After that, Keith left the group in the same state of being restrained and returned to sleep with Layla in the inn.
