Chapter 169 - Earth Field Trip: Grateful Heart

After the talk with Lily, or Liliana, Juliana went to talk to Draxus's room about some things that she didn't hear when Liliana spoke about them. "Julie? What about Lily?" Juliana simply smiled as she continued to walk closer. She stood next to him as they admired the view. "Lily will be fine, she just wanted to play a bit more." "Ah, that's why..." Juliana placed her hands on the railing and leaned her head on Draxus's shoulder. "We're truly grateful, ever since the day we met you, everything had completely changed. From the way we see humans from another world, to even how royalty should behave. We used to believe that royal blood only seek to gain profit and to protect their country, even if it costs them their family, they're born to protect the country. As female royals, we were simply tools to reach higher positions. I'm sure Olivia also has this kind of troubling feeling as well before. But everything changed because of you." Juliana stopped for a bit as she had realized something. "You still call us Lily and Julie..." Upon being hit with that questioning gaze, he quickly gave his reasons as to why. "Both of you introduced yourselves as such, and even if I know your real names, I still prefer to call both of you the same because, both of you have cute nicknames." Juliana blushed slightly as she understood that Draxus had already made his decision to call them as such. "By the way, have you told the other girls yet?" Draxus was slightly curious as to why they told him this, but he had to clear things up first to ensure that the girls are getting along. "We agreed to tell them later, for now, we want you to know about our journey."

Just after Liliana and Juliana escaped the country of Aquila, they ended up wandering around the country of Bovoyna for a while. They thought about finding shelter as the first thing they needed. And thus, when they stayed on an inn, they gathered a bit of information on how to gain income.

The country wasn't too prosperous in economy, since it was too reliant on self-sufficiency as all countries surrounding it were a victim of their war crimes before. With no outside trade, their primary way to sustain income is to hunt monsters and sell them to the market. It had minimal income, and they had times where they were starving, but they strived through and looked for other places in the meantime.

Adventurer's guild didn't exist in Bovoyna, since their hero was a person that wishes to fight and control other countries because they were treated unfairly, any person that has the strength, or even has potential can be recruited directly to the army. Taxes were generally heavy, but selling hunted monsters were basically tax-free. Those with businesses such as markets or inns have trouble sustaining themselves. Thus, every meal they had in the inn, was charged.

The kingdom of Bovoyna was attacked by the kingdom of Aquila. Their home country assumed that they were kidnapped by the country of Bovoyna and launched a full-scale attack towards it. Liliana and Juliana escaped to the country of Paladia in that time and kept and listened to people who were talking about the sudden attack. They understood that the country led them to misunderstand something, since their father was the kind of man that's easily manipulated through words and profit. However, what they didn't expect was that, Temockria attempted to attack as well to coordinate with Aquila. But they were intercepted by the country in the very center of the continent. What surprised them wasn't on why the country intercepted them, but how. "The [Hero of Time], is truly powerful. He single-handedly annihilated the entire army of Temockria, I know any [Hero] could actually fight against armies on their own, but their hero barely managed to survive and escape from the battle." Listening to the owner of the inn, Liliana was somewhat terrified as both Bovoyna and Paladia neighbor that country with distorted time. They stayed on Bovoyna for two years, and Paladia for another two years, they then left for Quisterion.

In Quisterion, it was generally more peaceful, they were hit with a war against Kitrixia nearly five years beforehand but they were already recovering greatly. They were finally able to get into the adventurer's guild after they arrived at Beryll. For a year, they could only make it to orange rank in that time. They were unable to locate and hunt a mutated monster, thus they weren't able to make it out of the rank. However, it was more than enough for them to have a greatly stable income at the higher ranks. The only issue they had, was the same from the previous countries that they encountered quite often.

"Hey Lily, isn't it about time for you to respond to our invitation? We can show you a good time eh?" A disgusting laugher spread on a group of thugs after they had invited Liliana and Juliana multiple times. The two of them constantly refused any invitation from anybody as they knew it would lead to them being controlled anyways. That was the case until they met a peculiar person.

"Perfect Timing! I'll introduce you to these two Draxus." The innkeeper Crystel, called out to a young man who looked only a couple years older than them after he entered the inn. The two of them seemed to have missed him when he decided to stay on the inn. It was the time, when the wheel of fate has decided to turn.

Upon meeting Draxus, both of them seemed to have noticed Draxus's mild nature at the start. He's lax on certain things even though he spoke about training for all their lives, and even just starting to get a little independent. But then, they were impressed by his sheer power in both combat, and control of magic. The twins knew that they were prodigies when it comes to fire magic and swordsmanship, but Draxus mixing both things at once made them feel overwhelmed. Elementals were strong opponents, even for orange-rank adventurers, but he made short-work of even the most threatening enemies. And when they returned to submit the completion of the commission, they were greeted with the thugs. It was then they felt the immense pressure, just coming from Draxus himself when he annihilated a group of orange to silver ranks alone.

"I guess, your adventure truly brought you to a place that you wished to live on." Draxus brushed his hand on Juliana's head as he remembered some things about the time he met her before. "Yes... We were truly fortunate to have met you Drax..." Juliana felt relaxed as she kept her eyes on the scenery. Admiring the life she and her older sister had gained after their five year struggle.
