Chapter 112 - The Dungeon of Illusion

Remuel went to the balcony that oversaw everything in the country, he was the first one to arrive as he was pretty much preparing himself for a departure towards Luventrion. He sat down and watched over the people starting to get active on sunrise. Some people were running around to train their endurance, while others were training their strength on the training ground. He couldn't help but show a little smile as he was living in a world where he could be one of the people at the very top.

It was like that as he held no memories of the dream he had.

Serkyrio arrived after Remuel waited for a while. He brought the tea set along and poured a cup for Remuel and himself. "Early today huh? Ready for your trip?" Remuel didn't feel like responding with words, but he nodded as he continued to look around on the people. "We got permission from their king, he also told me that there was nobody that is capable of completing the dungeon there so he was about to ask one of us. In terms of the dungeon, it's a dungeon with a more puzzle and traps oriented one. There will be a lot of puzzles to be solved and lots of treasure. It was said that the puzzles were too complicated on their own end. He had at least multiple scholars to try and solve it but they couldn't get through even the first floor." The thought about puzzles being difficult for even scholars made Remuel think about why the country required multiple scholars. "Scholars you say? Then won't I be kinda obsolete if they have those kinds of people? I mean, I'm still going but heck." Remuel sipped on the tea that was poured for him. "Well, that's where you come in mate. Besides, only Draxus and Harold was able to rival you on this like these. But we can't just send Harold who is still making proper tweaks on the dimensional gate so we can go back in the past. Aside from that, we get a huge boon with half of the overall dungeon reward being given to us." Remuel smiled upon hearing the word called [Reward] but it was still something that could potentially help their country instead of things given to him for free. However, he doesn't have any complaints regarding no rewards. "Well, to find the dungeon is one thing easily done. But the fact that nobody even got through the first room is quite interesting even for me. So I'm heading out after breakfast, I already informed Victorina, Lynx, and Noelle, be sure to keep an eye on them aight?" Serkyrio nodded in response to Remuel's request and continued their early morning tea.

After breakfast, he was easily seen off by his fiancés, Arlesk, Serkyrio, and Harold who will be creating a portal for him. "Surprisingly, Draxus is not around." Remuel let out a light comment about Draxus being unavailable for the time being. "Well, he's kinda stuck in dealing with multiple clones since he has to get rid of them without suspicion. The second batch that wished to return didn't want to live a life that included a huge potential of death after all." Draxus was sent to Earth along with two of his strongest vice-chiefs for the mission of elimination of clones that were sent to Earth. "Well, he's not coming around anytime soon." Serkyrio gave Remuel the explanation regarding Draxus' absence for the time being which made him nod in understanding. "Aight, with that, take care guys." Harold opened a portal to Luventrion which Remuel entered quickly.

A bright light blinded Remuel as he slowly entered the portal, he used his hand to cover his eyes of the bright view in front of him. The brightness slowly dimmed down just enough for Remuel to open his eyes to see the capital city. People were already surrounding him and are making a fuss on how one person was able to use transportation magic. But Remuel didn't care about the stares that were piercing him. He simply admired the capital which had multiple tall buildings as if it was a futuristic world filled with magic. "Sweet damn of architecture skills." A carriage which didn't hold a horse was being controlled by some driver in front of him. The carriage stopped just meters before his position and some guards or escorts came out of the carriage. "I presume you're from Preeliance?" Remuel was completely standing out in the crowd, which was understandable because of the portal he entered from, and the formal clothing which was pretty much exclusive to the people of Preeliance. "Remuel Baphomet Phoenix, one of the Archons of Preeliance. I'm under instructions of Emperor Serkyrio Kaiser Preeliance to have an audience with the King of this country." His tone was rough, yet very sophisticated and filled with proper manners. So the guards simply asked him to enter the carriage for it to arrive in the castle.

"Greetings! Welcome to my castle Remuel Baphomet Phoenix, I hope that the residency and hospitality will be enough for you." The king of Luventrion gladly welcomed Remuel as he sat down on his throne in the reception room. Remuel was looking around to see multiple nobles filled with expectation, jealousy, and fear, along with some indifferent expressions. He was making sure that there aren't any nobles trying something crazy while he is around.

Within the alliance, the nobles of each nation already understood the behavior and influence of each archon and their emperor. Which is why seeing Remuel right in front of them is somewhat giving them a huge amount of pressure as they can't bring out any ill intention.

"It's unnecessary for such hospitality, Your Majesty of Luventrion. I am simply here from Emperor Serkyrio's instructions to assist the country's top scholars in the new dungeon." Remuel didn't bow down as he easily understood that someone on his position shouldn't do such a thing. But the nobles surrounding him didn't exactly enjoy such behavior towards the king. They started getting noisy as the topic of the discussion was the newly discovered dungeon that they have trouble getting through even the very first room.

"Silence." The King of Luventrion silenced the nobles around him and began explaining about the dungeon. "The discovery of the Dungeon of Illusion was something that came to a surprise for all of us. As soon as investigators entered the dungeon, they were quickly attacked by traps. However, most arrow traps that were activated simply pass through without harming the targets. It's likely something similar to instilling fear into trespassers with illusions. Though, there are genuine traps in the area, so it's best to be careful regardless of the situation. It was said that the creator of the dungeon was a genius illusionist that taught people the art of illusions on war. However, since we live in the present where the future will be covered with peace, I will hand over the [Book of Illusions] which is rumored to be the source of all information regarding illusion magic." Upon the king's explanation, Remuel pondered deeply regarding the reward he will be getting. Since it's a magic that existed, he could simply create his very own illusions, but despite having decent mastery over it, he understood the fact that originally created magic will not be enough to fighting against the Council of the Skies. So he needs something that will allow him to understand the concept from the very base. "Hmm... I believe that I am still unable to use some spells due to missing the basics and heading straight to complicated magic methodology. But are you sure about handing it over to me?" Remuel pushed a question to the king just in case he senses any form of cunning debt usage. "Of course, we do not need any dangerous tool for my country, if peace is the future for this world, then I wish for it to prosper. Besides, an archon holding such power is much more reliable than somebody running around causing trouble with it, or someone abusing their power with it. Which is why I feel much more relieved to have such power in proper hands." Remuel sighed in understanding the king's intentions. He simply doesn't want anybody breaking the country because the piece of knowledge fell into the wrong hands. However, it was something that Remuel had accepted before it was even offered. "Maybe I'll activate [Fog of Conquest] once I get the knowledge of this... I'll give it to Draxus after since I can just use [Amalgam of Destiny] to activate it for me." Remuel muttered inaudibly as he thought about what to do after getting his hands on the book. "Alright, before I go to the dungeon myself, I would like to meet the scholars. I'd like to hear out what they thought of the dungeon." Remuel smiled as he began thinking about how to quickly solve the dungeon without much trouble.
