Arlesk woke up from a short amount of sleep, he wasn't exactly a person that tended to lack such thing. The reason for that was because of the people who are assigned to him. He sat up on his bed and sighed exasperatedly as if signaling that he's in a troublesome day once again. "Not only do I not know them, but they have a clear syndrome of superiority complex to the maximum." Arlesk then stood up and walked out of his room.
He woke up in time just for breakfast, he washed his face in the kitchen and went towards the dining hall immediately. There, he met Amber and Hecate already waiting for him. "Ah! Arlesk! Good morning to you!" He then sat down between them while returning the greeting. "Seems like you lacked quite a bit of sleep, did something happen?" Hecate quickly tried to ask Arlesk about what had happened in his life. "Well, it's just that I got assigned with a bunch of problem children. I don't think they'd be as useful to the Preeliance force, but they'd rather cause trouble since they think that they became main characters of some trashy novel plot." Arlesk had already understood that being summoned will make them force into a struggle of survival, so there was no need for him to think about living his best life afterwards. He will only start thinking about it when the council has been dealt with. However, the group he was assigned to manage was quite the complete opposite of him. They look for pleasures to enjoy as they felt like they were summoned to become the strongest. During the few days they have been in the world, they have already gathered as much strength and learned enough magic to at least be on par with the knights that were trained on Preeliance. "It's a good thing that this is the last day for them..." He sighed once again as if saying that he's finally getting a load off his shoulders. Today was marked as the day for the newly summoned people to go independent. However, they have to go for a match against one of the higher ups of the group. "Yeah, did we get any news about fighting?" Upon hearing Amber's question, Arlesk checked his phone just in case he missed something from last night. And to his surprise, Draxus who had no sleep left a message that the Sentinels had got it covered. "Seems like Draxus made an announcement that his Sentinels will be the one screening them of their capabilities to survive. Wanna watch?" As if his sighing earlier was a lie, Arlesk grinned in expectation to see what will happen in the battle test. "Ah, Jess actually wanted to talk to me about something in regards to the paperwork, so I won't be watching." Amber quickly remembered her tasks and told Arlesk that she won't be available until noontime. However, Hecate was free up until the same hours, making her unavailable in the afternoon. "Hecate, please keep an eye on Arlesk, specially when he gets surrounded!" Amber placed her shoulders on Hecate to inform her to stop any woman from approaching Arlesk. The two had already confessed to him and in fact accepted their confessions. Draxus and Remuel messed around with Arlesk after that by chanting: "Comrade~! Comrade~!" while pushing their elbows on him. After warning Hecate, the three went around to their attendances.
"How are your secretary lessons with Jess?" Arlesk turned his gaze towards Hecate and began asking her of her progress. "I used to adventure a lot, so the start was definitely bad for the Amber and myself. But we eventually got used to such a life." Arlesk nodded as if saying that his expectations were met nicely. "Good good, the world I came from didn't have any royalty and stuff aside from a single country. Despite that, we were required to learn such etiquette anyways, so I'm glad you two were able to catch up that quickly." The secretary lessons coming from Jess was something that Serkyrio had recommended for those who will be working under someone directly. So he put up Jess to teach certain people to become proper secretaries for the archons. In Draxus's side, it was only Olivia, on Remuel's side, it was Victorina, and from Arlesk, was both Hecate and Amber. It was somewhat separated so only two people could take the lesson on the day, while the other two will take it in the afternoon. The two continued their chatter until they walked out of the castle to call up the people assigned to them.
"So it's finally time to show our true potential eh? Good to know, we can easily win against things here so we don't need to dependent on you." A person with an average height and somewhat skinny body arrogantly spoke towards Arlesk, which made him facepalm internally in that instant. "Alright then, we got volunteers on who you will be fighting against for the test, if you won't survive for a moment then you will need some babysitting from the shadows." Arlesk gave them the instructions of what the test will hold, but the arrogant young man who was named Matt interrupted him midway. "What do you mean survive? We'll definitely win here." Matt turned around to see a few more members around him. All members were male, they had different kinds of body types from muscular, somewhat overweight, skinny, and average. However, unlike Matt, some of them had proper behavior covering them, it's just that the person who leads them has an arrogant personality. Though the second they start to win, they may pick on the losing team and have a bit of superiority complex above it. "Alright then, you all ready?" Arlesk turned around and signaled Hecate who was nearby to open the door.
A large area which was made for battle came into their view. The group Arlesk managed had already been in this area a couple times, but every time they did enter the training ground, they felt flabbergasted. In front of them was Draxus smiling along with Olivia who is moving as his secretary, and Matilda, as his personal knight accompanying him. "Greetings, seems like you lot are the first ones here. How's my family back there?" Matt and the others quickly gathered around Draxus as they quickly recalled one of their neighbors that suddenly disappeared for a while. "Didn't expect to see you here! We heard that the one staying at your home was a clone, but I'm sure your family is safe." The person who spoke was the tall young man. He was one year younger than Draxus, but he was definitely someone that gained the respect of Draxus as he didn't change towards arrogance. "That's good, be sure to keep a good eye on them aight? Edward." The chit-chat continued on for a while until Draxus informed Olivia to summon the Sentinels in preparation to fight against the newcomers.
The other newcomers had arrived who were assigned to various members of the Preeliance. Serkyrio himself wasn't assigned to any as he was most likely the busiest person in the castle, so he wasn't around for the test. "Alright, allow me to introduce myself first. I am Draxus Heimdal, who you may or may not know from Earth. In here, I manage the Order of the Crystallized Sentinels, as they will be the one going to enter combat with each group. Some members have already been exempted as they were officially invited to the Sentinels. However, as I have heard, all members here wished for independence. So we are here to make sure none of you will easily die until you at the very least visit your parents back in the old world. So the instructions in this test will be." Draxus then looked over the list of participants. In one group, he noticed the four people that picked on him, and smiled as he continued to give them the instructions. "In summary, you will survive for as long as you can. There will be only one attempt, so be wary in any possible attacks since in this world, one mistake will lead to death."
Matt's group was the first to participate on the battle, as most of them were at the very least capable of the minimum requirements of the knights. The Knight Order which was lead by Richard, was already powerful to the point that they can apprehend powerful adventurers one on one, but they were more focused on peacekeeping and keeping an eye on the country. Opportunities to battle with beasts were abundant due to the location of their country, but battles between people were less likely unless some acts of terrorism occur.
Matt looked around with his weapon in hand as he awaited for Draxus to announce his opponent. His group was known as the strongest one of the groups that entered the newcomers. However, Draxus simply gave them a quick test. "Alright, for the first group, you will be facing against, the [Sentinel of Arcana] from my group. She's one of the vice-chiefs of the team I manage, and her face may seem familiar to you." Audrey Fairchild was chosen to face against Matt's group. To Matt's surprise, they easily remembered the frail child that was once bullied by them, even by her own blood brother. "You kidding? This should be easy win then." Draxus and Audrey showed no response. The man who was slightly overweight quickly shrugged and smiled in confidence. "There's still time for you to run Audrey, you should know that our mother was very pissed looking for you." Yet again, there was no response. "Alright, trashtalk done. Both sides ready!" Draxus announced to make sure that the battle will go underway soon. Nobody except for his fiancés, who now surround him completely were able to notice his sinister smile. He quickly sent a telepathy towards Audrey who he considered as a soul younger sister.
"Enjoy the slaughter."
