Chereads / Isekai: The Eight Soul Fragments / Chapter 92 - Collected Pieces

Chapter 92 - Collected Pieces

Three people entered a portal to the landing space, and fell flat on the ground. All three of them were visibly exhausted as they used an item that's only allowed for emergency purposes. The three stayed down while letting out gasps for air. Their expressions weren't exactly panicked, but they're not in a good state to talk after their encounter with a certain person.

'That was... The Em-Emperor... Right...?" The young man with the bow on his left hand turned his head to ask the two regarding their ideas about the person. One girl immediately responded. "No doubt about it, he managed to slip through your [Omnipresent Sight], and entered that world. It's unlikely for a clone to have that much power." The girl stood up and looked around, she had a familiar feeling as though they had returned to base safely. She sighed deeply before activating her magic once more. She concentrated for a while and immediately detected another familiar presence coming to greet them. "Boss is coming, get it together, Hyperion, Thea." Hyperion and Thea changed to a serious expression before nodding and standing up straight. When the door opened, the three stiffened up as one person glanced at their expressions. "Contingency?" Cronus let out a little bit of pressure as he realized that Hyperion, Thea, and the other woman who was named as Themis had a regretful look. Thea answered the question with haste which got Cronus a little bit surprised with the sudden turn of events.

"So Serkyrio is in Earth right now huh...? It's a little early but we need to prepare the second batch of summons soon. We will then greet them before our Preeliance enemies come to protect them. We need them to join the [People of Earth] who are against the group. Then we can let them do whatever they wished." Cronus turned his back towards them while hiding a menacing expression. "I'll add more pieces for your entertainment, my lord..." It was a mutter that was audible enough for the three which immediately understood what he meant. However, far from complaining from it, they could only smile as though they were finally given more purpose rather than waiting for thousands of years.

"By the way boss, the plan to unleash the monsters of the depths, and the ones beyond the seas... May I know of their progress?" Hyperion gulped his saliva after asking the question as he had interrupted Cronus from enjoying the moment to the fullest. Cronus turned his body and kept his gaze at Hyperion, before giving a quick and calm answer. "Oceanus and Tethys had began lowering the barrier on their side. Crius and Phoebe are already done on their side with the ones in the depths." Cronus raised his arms up as if proclaiming something further to the skies. "Soon, chaos will conflagrate the entire world! How will your pursuit of peace far against multiple enemies Preeliance!? The Demons of the Farlands! The Monsters of the Depths! And against your own kind! [People of Earth]! Who are under us! The Council of the Skies!" Cronus laughed like a maniac who wished for chaos to envelop the entire world. "Soon, the God himself shall witness the dance of chaos on his dominion, just as he wished for it." Cronus smiled and lowered his gaze back to the three other members in his group. "Let the war begin."

Somewhere on the far north of the world, in the lands where it was shown as inexistent in the world map. A large castle, hidden under a gigantic mountain that was carefully mined out could be found. One person sat on the throne wearing dark red garments. He had a large horns and a strong build with his body. He looked like an actual devil, yet his features looked somewhat young as though he has the eternal youth of a vampire. A strong, well-built body of a demon, draconic wings that spread far and wide, and a powerful presence of magic present inside his body. He had a bored expression as he glanced on his armor which was made out of a hellish red ore with solari enchantments. "Haaah..." He sighed deeply filled with impatience, he thought about certain things but it was instantly interrupted as one person arrived. "Your Excellency! I have come bearing wonderful news!" The bored expression from the demon who was addressed as the leader changed into a suspicious gaze when he narrowed his eyes. That caused the demon who entered the throne room to slightly panic as there is only the two of them in there. "Hiii!! Oceanus! Oceanus has lowered his magic and announced to us!" The demon king's eyes widened in surprise, before narrowing down once again and letting out a psychotic smile. "It's time..." He muttered in a low voice before clearing his throat and gave orders to the demon. "Summon the ladies, and have the servants prepare the meeting room, our time to remove the humans from this world has come." The demon bowed down in a panic and rushed out to the room. The demon king couldn't help but smile as his wait for ten thousand years had finally reached its conclusion. He then recalled what Cronus had said just two weeks ago. "Soon, we will lower the barrier to the central world. As promised, we had brought in powerful pieces you can fight against. The Depths, and people from another world, one of them managed to actually cut off my arm, so hopefully you're able to enjoy yourself as you wished." Those words lingered in his mind as he stood up from his throne. He spread his draconic wings out and activated his magic to course through a very wide area. His crimson red hair which reached his back started to glow a faint orange color. And his arms which were charred with black and red scares start emitting flames. "Kukukukukuahahahaha!"

Back in the central continent of the world, had a humongous lake right at the far south. It had an indescribable depth as there was no explanation to its existence for more than ten thousand years. However, in the bottom of the depths was a cave, having a current that will pull anything that tries to submerge down upwards, it was deemed impossible to enter the cave by normal means. Nor humanity was ever able to develop a method to go down. However, inside the cave, stood one person who was wearing a pitch black tunic and cloak along with long trousers. It contained traces of dark blue, and purple lines as if indicating himself as a royalty in the underworld. His appearance cannot be seen as it was covered by the shadows in the dark. Only dim light could be seen from the magic stones inside the cave as it lit up a small letter. "Interesting..." He picked up the letter and began reading the contents which were penned by a familiar name. "Cronus...?" He then widened his eyes and showed a calm smile. "The seal has been opened huh...? I can now invade anytime I wish... I'll make some preparations first, I don't plan to let my army die meaninglessly. The shadow faded as the letter slowly disappeared and became one with the darkness. His calm voice resonated in the cave as if leaving a comment. "Surely there will be something that interests me."
